I don't usually say this lightly, but this place seriously has the best smash burgers in town. First time I tried it, I knew right away I wasn't going to be going anywhere else. The patties are perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor every single time. What really makes it stand out though, is the consistency and the people. The quality is always on point! Ingredients are always fresh, perfectly cooked, and you can tell they actually care about what they're serving. On top of that, everyone who works there is genuinely kind and welcoming, which just makes the whole experience that much better. One visit and you'll understand why it's so hard to go anywhere else after.

Geezus!!! This burger is fantastic. I'm not a burger lover but this is better than In n Out and Habit. Made to order. Right amount of patty , ketchup, mustard and onions and 4 slices of pickles. Doesn't over power the meat so you can taste the charbroil. These guys are on point very welcoming. Simple table set up of condiments. We had Smosh Burger for our company Xmas party and we were all happy ,satisfied and full.

One word: SALTY. Disappointing because the flavor of their food is actually really good and has so much potential, but my goodness everything is a salt bomb! We tried: O's way double, Oh no way double, loaded fries, and loaded tots. Pros: tots and waffles fries were SUPER crispy to perfection, sauce was delicious, generous toppings, great flavors Cons: both burger patties were dry despite being "wagyu" (however the patties on the loaded tots/fries were not dry), and obviously extremely salty Maybe it was a one-off, but I would come back again if they could just chill with the salt lol and improve consistency in how they cook their beef patties.

Amazing grilled cheese!

This grill cheese is so good. I bought one at the Habit and passed this spot. They said they also sold a grill cheese. I tasted it and threw the Habit grill cheese in the trash. This is so cheesy, so tasty, crunchy, the cheese is nice and so tasty! 10 out of 10

First time back in a long time. Just as good if not better. Smosh town and For the Win make the best smash burgers. Plus the owners are great and the prices are fair. Glad they're back!

Loaded Waffle Fries

Still the best smashed burgers I've ever had! No way with raw onions and the loaded fries with CHOPPED everything on top (JalapeƱos, onions, banana peppers). A bed of fries topped with 2 chopped patties and 2 slices of ooey gooey cheese and layered with onions, jalapeƱos, and onions. SPICY BUT OH SO ADDICTING. Chopped style is off menu so you gotta request it!

O No Way Double, The Only Way Double and Cajun Fries

Wow! By far my favorite burger joint. I order it twice a week for the family and I. The only way and O no way doubles with Cajun fries by far the best. I also order a double with cheese for my toddler and she devours it with regular fries. The staff is very friendly and never disappoints always makes sure our order was made to perfection. Also, love the feel of street style burgers, which is very convenient with tables outside.

Double with waffle fries! BOMB.

Where are you guys? Burgers are bomb.

Where is this place? The truck isn't on Hill Ave. anymore.

Are they still in business?

Anyone knows their hours?

hours are posted on their Facebook page and they have a website

They're Instagram feed shows BACON cheeseburgers, but the menu pics on Yelp don't show bacon on the menu. Is there a special day they do bacon or is it always on the menu?

you can add bacon to any burger for a $1.50 daily.

WHEN: Tue @7pm…read more Located in a small plaza, while there is free parking, it's also quite limited with it being share with other business establishments. However, since we came at night time where most of them were closed, we got parking right in front. This spot is more of a take-away place, with 6 counter seatings indoors, and maybe 3 chairs right out front. This tiny burger spot seems to be run by just one person, so it helps that you can self-order at their kiosk. He was very attentive juggling between cooking the made-to order items, and check in on the costumers in case they had questions. After placing my order at their one device, it was roughly a 15 minutes wait. Here's what we ordered: CHEESEBURGER - $9.90 High-quality beef patty smashed with grilled onions, serviced on a toasted Martin's potato bun and topped with pickles and their fry sauce. I really enjoyed this rich tasting burger. I think that fry sauce was a huge factor...but also that soft bun...and that flavorful beef patty. I really enjoyed this. FRIES - $5.25 Golden Thing-Cut Fries. Perfect. I mean this was made to order so they were warm, crispy and so dang good! It's how fries everywhere should be! I was hoping to come back during my trip in LA, but it's okay, it won't be the last time I visit.

We've been ordering from FTW for months because whenever i think of a smash burger, its either the…read moreones i make myself or the ones from FTW. The crispy lace edges, the juicy center, the grilled onion, the slightly spicy sauce, the slightly sweet bun...all dreamworthy! Their sweet potato fries aren't all that great to look at, but omg, always perfectly cooked and salted! Perfectly complimented with the fry sauce. All that said, we were disappointed when we received our last order: 1. Packaging change (paper wrapped instead of cardboard box for the burgers) robbed the craveable edges of their crispness. Plus there was so much grease on the paper wraps it actually made it messier to eat than before. 2. The sauce has changed. The spice level increased (still not too spicy), but a side of sauce (which you pay more than a $1 for) is now sent in a premade branded packet. I have zero issues paying extra for a good sauce made fresh in-house, but instead of tasting like a fresh sauce made with mayo and spices, it now tastes of oil and spices and is not nearly as tasty. We noticed the difference on the burgers as well, so it seems like their sauce is all premade now and not nearly as good.

The Black Cow Cafe has been part of my life since my college years, so when I came here now, it was always filled with nostalgia and a slowed pace over a calming meal. Opened in 1994 by a father and son, they embodied the community's "Main Street USA" vibe with a neighborhood diner where everyone knew each other, and you were served a soothing homemade meal during breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Did this cafe leave me with warm memories of the past, or did I cower from time's inevitable changes!? PURCHASE(S) Green Milan 16floz Drink ($7.95): My body needed something "green" and this sounded interesting. I thought it would be one of those health smoothies back in the 80s, but instead a frothy hazy light drink with a light grassy aroma and a middling leafy flavor. I didn't dislike it, but I wouldn't order it again. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=Uo_FrA9ezkxhIn4VnwEVtQ Vegetarian Omelette w/Country Potatoes & Sourdough Toast ($18.95): Made with avocado, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, Ortega chiles, pico de gallo, salsa ranchera, spinach, and topped with sour cream, an omelette was also on my eating bingo card. This smallish portion on the healthier side was packed with fresh goodness and fluffy eggs. The country potatoes were plentiful, nicely seasoned, but lacked the outer crisp I liked. The large sourdough toast with creamy butter and preserves rounded out the meal well. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=vDf51dNgOCoyIaPX_AOvrw Fish & Chips w/Coleslaw & Muffin ($17.95): Made with tempura fried Icelandic cod served with jalapeno tartar sauce, and Hawaiian coleslaw, the three fish pieces were crunchy, hot, and thick but needed more seasoning so the tarter sauce came in handy (no vinegar!). The coleslaw lacked much flavor and moisture, and the muffin was moist and warm. This one could've been better. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=dsLbeFauDvvnvXiA6IZhBA [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Substitute Onion Rings ($3.95): I replaced the french fries with these, a good side portion with many rings of different sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) pulled out at times. Everything arrived within ten minutes, and we were checked on periodically. All was good - thank you! PARKING (Varied: FREE this instance): I found a spot in the large public lot directly above the restaurant off of Florencita Dr. Otherwise, there were metered spots along the main drag of Honolulu Ave. and all surrounding side streets- 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DƉCOR, AMBIENCE A packed layout filled with tables inside and along the front sidewalk, the decor was as if grandmothers united and gave it a country farm house appeal https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=HWq31BkepPCR8uWcUf4Gtw with odds-and-ends and knickknacks. A minimal amount of natural lighting came in through the front glass windows and doors while a mix of recessed and track electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs nor could I recall any background music over all of the loud conversations. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to revisit The Black Cow Cafe, and hoped to return soon. The menu was packed, the food was good, the prices were comparable, and the service was busy but manageable. Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $69.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

The burgers are smashed perfectly -- crispy edges, juicy center, and packed with flavor. You can tell they don't rush the process and actually care about how the food comes out. The buns are soft but sturdy, the toppings are fresh, and everything is well-balanced without being greasy or overwhelming. The fries are hot, seasoned right, and pair perfectly with the burger. Portions are solid for the price, and you definitely leave full. Service is friendly and laid-back, and the vibe feels local and welcoming, not corporate or fake. It's the kind of spot you hit once and then immediately start recommending to people. While the chili is tasty and the service is excellent--the cashier was genuinely dedicated to guest satisfaction, and the food comes out hot and made-to-order in 5-10 minutes--it lacks the signature experience of the real OG Original Tommy's. Not huge at all and for the price, therefore not a good value. I spent $24 for the Chilicheese bruger combo with $1 upcharge for a bottled drink. The burger itself was decent, but they are way too tight with the chili portions compared to Tommy's, and the shoestring fries don't hold the chili nearly as well as the thicker-cut fries. I also found the specific combination of pickles, onions, and mustard on a Tommy's burger to be superior. The setting is purely a walk-up window with four outdoor benches, so it lacks the atmosphere of a traditional dine-in experience. Street parking during around 2pm on weekday was no problem. Got a spot right in front of the joint. If you do stop by, definitely give the chili a moment to cool--it comes out steaming hot! It's a solid, quick meal, but it hasn't dethroned the real OG, Original Tommy's, for me.

I don't know if that's a compliment for everyone, but I mean it in the best way. Established and substantial. Service is good. Clyde, the only bartender I've encountered is a pretty cool cat.
