I've been coming to the Smoothie King near the gun range in Waldorf for the past few months, usually in the mornings after the gym. Normally, I receive excellent service from the young Indian gentleman who works there, and that's one of the reasons I've continued coming back. Recently, however, there has been a new employee working in the mornings, and the service experience has noticeably declined. The first time I encountered him, I actually had to leave without my order because the wait time was excessively long. Today was even worse. I arrived around 8:55 AM, placed and paid for my order, and there were four people ahead of me in line. Three of those customers ordered before me, and all three received their drinks while I was still standing there waiting. Both employees then appeared ready to head to the back as if all orders had been completed, while I still had not received my smoothie. After noticing me still waiting, the employee made a random smoothie with Gladiator protein that was not the smoothie I ordered. I then had to correct him and ask him to add the proper ingredients to make the actual drink I paid for. I did not leave until approximately 9:22 AM. A nearly 30-minute wait for a smoothie -- combined with the incorrect order and lack of awareness -- made this by far the worst service experience I've had at this location. I'm not someone who normally complains, but this experience was extremely frustrating, especially considering how consistently good the service usually is. read more

There is ALWAYS a problem at this location. Today they were out of something which sadly is becoming more of a norm than a rarity. I placed an order online for two different smoothies. Paid for them and was out the door to pick them up when I get a phone call that neither smoothie could be made because they were out of yogurt, spice blend, dates and butter pecan. The week before last they were out of pumpkin. Well ... they weren't out ... they "had it in the cage but no one had the key." WHY ISN'T THE FRANCHISE OWNER TAKING THE TIME TO KEEP UP WITH INVENTORY, ORDER ACCORDINGLY AND THEN MAKING SURE PRODUCT IS ACCESSIBLE? And to make matter worse, the customer service is less than appealing. There is one young "lady" in particular that always seems to have an attitude no matter what time of day you visit. I've personally watched her argue with a customer because she didn't put the top on the smoothie all the way and was then surprised when it went all over the place and the customer asked for a refund instead of waiting on a second smoothie to be made. If you don't like your job, quit so another young person can have the opportunity. But they learn by example. I've even had to ask the manager to move his car that he'd parked over two parking spaces to include the handicap space once. Although I prefer Smoothie King ... the Tropical Smoothie on Leonardtrown Road will get my business from now on just because there are just too many negatives for me to continue trying to support a minority owned business. I grabbed Smoothie King because I have a few friends who enjoy their smoothies. I didn't necessarily know what to get, the menu has a huge selection. I knew that I wanted to get something good, sweet but nutritious. My trainer recommended that I get the chocolate activator with strawberries and that's exactly what I got. I over heard someone mention that they travel to the Waldorf Smoothie King because the drinks are made well. This made me feel good as I waited for my smoothie to be made. The chocolate activator with strawberries was delicious, with just the right amount of sweetness. Smoothie King is also very affordable. I'll most likely treat myself one a week. Walked in this morning along with 3-4 other people this morning only to be told they were completely out of fruit and have been awaiting a shipment, no smoothies to be made. I then proceeded to ask about the meal replacement/protein bars to have in lieu of the shake because all of the shelves were empty as well. It's 8:13am on Labor Day and the smoothie king is apparently closed. The temporary hours sign says the hours are 7am Monday through Saturday. There is no sign regarding Labor Day hours. However, the website says today's hours would be 8am. The worst cashier ever! Rude and doesn't know how to greet customers! I showed her an order I wanted to get and she made this rude look on her face and said, "what is the name?" Instead of helping me with the type of enhancers she just stood there waiting for me to tell her. I don't work there it would have been nice if. He explained things to me instead of having an attitude at the cash register. She made a very negative representation of the store and I will never return and never tell my friends about this rude establishment. There were a lot of online orders, so it took some time to get my drink, but they were making the drinks very fast, yet not cutting through shortcuts. Highly Disappointed! I went here on 7/21/2023 greatly anticipating trying their new smoothie bowls. Acai bowls have become a recent obsession of mine. My go to is Playa Bowls in Annapolis but a little too far to go on a regular. So I was hoping to find a new go to with Smoothie King's new bowls. When I first came in there was one guy pretty much taking orders and making them. He was pleasant and greeted everyone that walked through the door. I ordered my smoothie (PB Swizzle) and sat in a chair patiently waiting for my order. While I was waiting, another young gentleman came from the back (maybe he had been on a break), and began to help making the orders. It was that gentleman that started making my order. While he was getting my bowl together, he asked if I had been told that they didn't have any strawberries. Told him no, and asked if he could just put a little more bananas and blueberries since they didn't have the strawberries. I continued patiently waiting. While I was waiting, I was thinking, wow, he sure is taking a long time. But ok, I'm still being patient. When he finally called me up to the counter to get my bowl, I looked at it for a couple of seconds. There was about 4 slices of banana, a little bit of blueberries, the bowl wasn't even filled to capacity, the fruit was just thrown in there with no rhyme or reason. I asked him if he had put the extra banana and blueberries on as I had asked. He paused a moment and said he forgot. As patient as I had been, I now began to get irritated. I looked at the picture of the bowl on the wall and I looked at what he had given me and there was no resemblance. I then asked him in a very calm voice, "Do you think what you just prepared for me looks anything like the picture on the wall?" He looked back at the picture, then back at me and said no. I then said, could I please get a bowl that resembles what is pictured? He seemed annoyed at that point, took the bowl back, and said ok. As I thought about it, I got the feeling he didn't know what he was doing. So I said, look, if I can't get what I paid for, I'd just prefer to get a refund. He called to the young lady who had just gotten on the register and told her to give me a refund. So I went to the register and the young lady promptly refunded my money. While she was doing that, I asked if I could speak to a manager. She said there wasn't a manager there. Then I asked well when will a manager be here? The other 2 employees chimed in and said the manager doesn't come in. I'm like, a manager doesn't come in? Really? They all agreed that a manager is very rarely there. I then asked if I could have contact info for the manger. They all said they would get in trouble for doing that. No customer service information was provided by any of the employees. So I said I would communicate with their corporate offices and left. I typically don't do reviews online, but I was so disappointed in what I experienced, I just had to do it. My impression is that there isn't anything wrong with the product. The issue was an incompetent employee who didn't know how to make the product. Additionally, this location obviously doesn't value customers or they would have a process in place to address customer concerns and problems, especially with no managers onsite. To have a shop full of fairly young employees with no one there with seasoned experience and authority to provide guidance is a problem. read more

Afterall, we can't all be happy 24/7. I ordered my smoothie and dude had blue latex (??) gloves on. He was pressing buttons and handling money. I know most people don't launder money, so it's nasty as it can be when u don't change gloves or wash your hands after u handle money. Then dude proceeded to make my smoothie with the same gloves on. There was another lady behind the counter. Never mind gloves. She was making stuff with her bare hands. The people making the smoothies on the other hand had no coordination or sense of urgency! A women who ordered before me got her smoothie after the gentleman who ordered after me! This place is really cool! I was thinking it's going to be like Starbucks or something except instead of coffee it would be mostly focused on fruity smoothies, which it kind of is. But what I didn't know was that it was going to be about fitness and health so much. There are so many different kinds. They have smoothies that focus on improving health, ones that focus on energy and bulking (each of those contain protein), ones that focus on slimming and even healthy meal replacement smoothies. They also sell proteins and supplements. This is great for any health nut, or someone working out or wanting to get into shape. My husband got the Power Punch Plus and it was really good! The customer service is horrible the young gentleman kicked me out of the store and called the police on me after they canceled my order order he also mentioned that the online system made 8 orders (I only had one order confirmation only )without providing a return credit receipt. I never received it and now I called corporate trying to get my money returned for an order that they didn't have the supplies to make. Also had to send corporate my receipt and bank information. It's been 4 days still waiting for a credit to my account. No one has reached out to me from the store. Not my fault at all I did what I was suppose to do and placed the order. My suggestion to management is to work on customer service and how to issue refunds to the customer on the spot when online orders are cancelled due to no supply. This is my FAVORITE smoothie place & this location is awesome. Great service! Great quality products! However, I got some sad news today. My favorite smoothie is going bye-bye due to lack of popularity. Awww come On! It's awesome! Mangosteen Madness is awesome. For those who don't know what a Mangosteen is; it's an Asian fruit that taste like a combination of strawberry & peach and is naturally sweet.
