Let me start with the POSITIVE! The food was GREAT and very filling! We also loved the bright colors in the space, it was inviting. However, it was a little dirty. There were clear footprints on the white furniture (not small enough for a child) so that means someone had been standing/walking on it. The only staff there were teenagers that were too busy on their phones to properly greet customers (it was our first time/impression). They appeared to be uninterested in engaging with a customer - even a bit bothered that they needed to put the phones down. Maybe a reminder from management or additional training for the young people would help. And the restroom was out of order....and I really needed the facilities. read more

Upon entering it was clear the air conditioner wasn't working, very hot, stuffy and uncomfortable environment. So I waited outside where it was much cooler. The base of the bowl was very loose not thick like other bowls I've had from other places. They gave way more strawberries versus the other fruit which was pineapple and mango. As a smoothie a day kinda person, I like being able to customize my smoothie from a milk aspect and they have alternatives to chose from. On this trip I went with the Berry Colada smoothie which has a coconut base, pineapple and blueberry. Consistency was right too!! Not too thick and not too thin, so a smoothie win win!! My mom went with the Incredible which was a blend of kale, mango, banana and apple. She was pleased and asked when were we coming back again lol!! Nips Juice House (FKA Spin Juice House) has become our go-to spot after Sunday Recovery rides & a place for me to get delicious items through the week if I'm in the area. They serve yummy vegan food like fruit covered waffles & patties. I've tried the spinach, kale, and cod fish patties, but they have more varieties. They're full of flavor & have a nice tender crust. I also enjoy the açaí bowls & the bowl with the coconut blended base. There are several on the menu. I'm planning to try all the juices but my favorite thus far is the Island Water. My fellow cyclists race to return on a Sundays to buy them all . I need to try more smoothies, can't decide on my favorite yet. Finally, I buy the health shots for the obvious benefits. The ginger/turmeric variety is spicy. We drink it like an adult shot. I love that this business is minority owned at a time when small businesses are closing daily. Well it's restaurant week in charles county Maryland 2/20-2/28. So I decided to start early with one of my favorite local small businesses Nips Juice House. Try the peanut butter blitz when you go you won't regret it. Today I had the kale and callaloo sandwich. I'm not sure if they call it a sandwich it's looks like a pita hot pocket. The outer bread is delicious and buttery flavored and the veggies inside are savory with just a small amount of kick ( spice) to awaken the taste buds. Absolutely delish. I got two for a little over 6 dollars. Give this great local business a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

I went there yesterday to get a vegan waffle as there aren't many vegan options in the area. I asked for a waffle, the two young ladies told me they never had that product. It was on the menu, they told me it was a generic menu. Saddened, I opted for an açaí bowl. It tasted like acid. The fruit wasn't fresh, probably had been sitting all week and the smoothie bowl tasted like acidic OJ and açaí. They didn't have any other vegan options o eat, but Nutella toast. The veggie patties looked like they were dry and had been sitting for a long time. There were about 3 juice options in the refrigerator. Needless to say this was not a good hangry experience. I want to first say that I love the offerings of this place. I come for the smoothie bowls which are awesome. My feedback is related to the accuracy of orders and recent service. There have been multiple instances lately where my bowl has had incorrect items (fruit or base) that I didn't ask for at all. I usually don't even bother making mention, but today the young lady gave me pineapple instead of strawberries. I asked her to give me the strawberries on the side and I just picked out the pineapple and threw them away right away. I don't eat pineapple so it wasn't as though I made an error and didn't want to admit my mistake (I know those kind of customers exist too ;) No biggie, I wasn't upset at all. My issue is that she really had a unpleasant attitude and acted as though I was inconveniencing her and never so much as acknowledged or apologised for the inconvenience she had caused. She literally never said a word to me after I told her that the order needed a correction. When I thanked her after she gave me the strawberries she muttered a barely decipherable "your welcome". It was not good. For that reason, I will not be returning because I choose not to spend my money where I feel the way I felt today. BUT, this is an opportunity to speak to your staff because you have some great menu items. Maybe have a screen or iPad on the back counter to remind them of what is in the order as they make it because I would imagine it can be a lot to remember. Update: The owner reached out to address my concerns and I will give Nips another shot. I ordered a 3 day juice cleanse from Nips based on a recommendation for a friend. The 3 day cleanse includes 6 juices/day and 3 wellness shot to start out each day. The juices all taste amazing. The restaurant is clean and bright. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you let them know about something in particular you would like to address, they will guide you to the best options for your needs. Today is day 3 of the cleanse for me. Umm, I think today has been the easiest day. I don't crave the need to chew food. I also am not hungry. Nor do I crave sweets. But days 1 & 2 we extremely challenging and I ate food on both of these days. Despite these mishaps. So far I've lost 3 lbs. I also did not work out. Found another location that makes açaí and fruit bowls. Although they don't offer the different sizes like my favorite place, it's still delicious. The base could have been a little thicker, but the toppings set it off. I ordered seamoss, but it blended too well with flavors for me to know if indeed it's in there ( should have been a little thicker with that addition. The young lady assisting me was very polite and a joy to interact with. Although my smoothie wasn't "nasty" the flavor was truly lackluster. I ordered a Pineapple Passion smoothie with oat milk. I was only able to taste oat milk, none of the fruits came through in through flavor profile at all. I also had the kale and callaloo patty, good amount of heat but the seasoning wasn't it for me. The place is ran by teenagers. I ordered a smoothie for myself and an açaí for my wife. My smoothie had major chunks of bananas and my wife's açaí bowl was so watery that she couldn't eat it. Definitely a poor delivery experience, I doubt I would order delivery as I would rather just go in person. I reviewed this place previously and have gone dozens of times in between but I did note in the last 2 years - the increasing wait time and slightly aloof demeanor of the staff, but this order just kind of did it for me. It was incorrectly prepared, long wait, and unresponsiveness that made it a bit frustrating. No one picked up the phone either for the 30 minutes I tried calling after placing my order. I like the owner though- very friendly- which is why I would still go in person though. I ordered 3 smoothie bowls and requested one to be without granola (dietary restriction which was not followed) and some chickpea patties. My doordasher contacted me 20 minutes into ordering saying they don't have patties and it would take 15 minutes to make to which I'm like okay just send without and DoorDash can adjust the total bill, they agreed but nope- 25 minutes later they were still finishing up the order. I tried to call them as well but no one picked up. That dasher left ultimately because he had been waiting for over 30 minutes and another dasher picked it up. What came an hour after placing the order was semi burnt patties, and three bowls with the granola in it. My dad was unable to eat/enjoy his bowl. I just was not happy. read more

We stumbled upon Spin on our way to Giant and I am so glad we did. With big name brands like Smoothie King and Tropical Smoothie Cafe trying to dominate the area, it was refreshing to find a smaller, local business to support. I really liked this place! Small and cute, black owned. The place has good lighting and was very clean. The employees were very friendly and personable. I really appreciated the customer service. I got the sweet and sour juice which is dominant in ginger but I liked it! I always go for ginger in my juices because it's a great immune system booster. The acai bowl was delicious as well. The fruit on top was fresh and the granola was sweet. I would just save it for the summer time because it's too cold to eat it right now as far as my personal preference. I wanted to love this place since it's near the area I live in but...I wasn't a fan. Walking in, the place was clean and cute. However, I was not greeted when I entered, just looked at. When I placed my order, I could barely hear the girl. I had to keep asking her what she said (not sure if she was nervous but still, it mate things awkward). My daughter ordered the Tropical Sunrise and I got the Red, White, and Blueberry. My daughter said her drink tasted like orange juice and ice. She could not taste any of the fruits that were in her drink (mango, pineapple, strawberry, banana). I felt the exact same way about my drink. It tasted like frozen fruit that had frost bite.
