This was my first time at this location, as I've always gone to the ones in NC, where I lived. The building isn't large, but it was clean and tidy. Since I'm such a stickler for being greeted upon entering an establishment, it made me happy to be greeted by the young lady who was there today. When I walked up to the counter to order my smoothie, I was greeted by Abdullah. He was very professional and pleasant. He took my order and thanked me for coming in. I love this location. It was very clean and smelled amazing as soon as I walked in. the aroma of fresh fruits, a breath of fresh air in the morning. The staff was very friendly was patient with us, even though he was the only one there and we took a while to figure out our order. He was also very fast in making our smoothies. I got the power meal. This was a great mail replacement since I missed breakfast and was so hungry. The the fact that I was able to get in 21 g of protein, 10 g of fiber, and 23 different vitamins, and minerals is really what push me to get it. Came here with a friend and was impressed. We came on a Friday and the special was a 32 oz. smoothie for $5. They had a variety of smoothies to choose from. I went with a strawberry and peach with protein powder, which was so good! That 32 oz. size lasted a while! This location in right across from Towsontowne Center. Decided to give this place a try I usually go to tropical smoothie and I wish I went there. Upon arriving the associates were really nice and attentive, she helped me decide what I wanted. Terrible service, no one said hi, the other two employees never looked up. The girl on the register taller dirty blonde hair at register was like a robot. I love Smoothie King. I usually go to one once or twice a week. Whether you're looking to bulk up, slim down, or just get more fruit in your diet they have a smoothie that is catered to you. I've grown quite fond of the Lean1 smoothies that have significantly less sugar than many of the other smoothies. You can still add things such as whey protein or peanut butter to put meat on your bones. My issue with this location was the size. Holy cow is this place tiny. It felt like a long broom closet. It was crowded some of the times I went and it was somewhat awkward. That being said I was happy to have a Smoothie King in Towson and will be back to buy more smoothies next time I visit. read more

If there was a tropical smoothie place near by, I'd would go there instead. This location is terrible. You have college kids working there who do not know what they are doing. I was skeptical after reading Kevin J's review below; but I'm glad I went to Smoothie King to try out the smoothie myself because, really, some yelp-ers are totally inaccurate and biased. My friend really liked Orange KaBam; it did have strong orange, sweet delicious flavor and she said she would totally get it again. I thought my MangoFest was sort of watered down with too much ice. So I approached staff asking if this is how MangoFest should taste like by tasting a bit of my smoothie, they said unfortunately yes because it has only 3 ingredients and tends to taste very light. So, since I ordered it without really asking for any recommendations, I was just gonna finish the drink. However, both staffs there insisted that they will remake my smoothie with extra Mango. They were so nice about the whole situation and said they would be happy to make me another one. I only waited like 2 minutes and I had my new smoothie. I was really happy with the second one because they said they added extra mango. So tips for next time, ask for extra mango. Also, while waiting I saw other people order smoothies and most popular ones seem to be protein/meal replacement smoothies like Lean1 and Gladiator, etc. I guess I will try one of those later. They also have lots of health bars, powders, chips, etc. Anyway, definitely not a 1 star place and perhaps not entirely 5 but staff is nice and you kinda get what you order from the menu. If you really really want all fruit filled smoothie, then you must make one yourself because all places, YES even Jamba Juice use mostly ice creams (sherberts and sorbet) to enhance their flavors. Look at all the reviews (that arent written by them or their friends) I dont require much more than a tiny bit of eye contact, manners or a simple acknowledgment that I was the only customer in the store with 3 ridiculously lazy and rude "kids" attempt at working a respectable shift... I have tried smoothies from EVERYWHERE, including Tropical and Jamba. There is no comparison - Smoothie King tastes best, and is without question the healthiest. Tropical is full of sugar and Jamba just doesn't taste good. I've also been to several SKs in the area. The one north on York Rd just isn't on this level for consistency and service. I have a few favorite smoothies. I order Vegan Mango Kale when I want a veggie smoothie, Peanut Power Chocolate when I want a healthy Reese's Cup, and Pineapple Surf, when I want something refreshing. This is the WORST smoothie king I have ever been to. After witnessing the most unprofessional employee mishandle a typical customer situation, I plan to take my business else where. May I add this location has never had phenomenal service. I'm just disappointed that I seek out smoothie king and drive the 20 minutes to satisfy a craving. It will never be worth it again after I saw an employee have so much attitude to a customer who did not receive her order in a timely manner. Outline of event: I came in and there were a bunch of people waiting. I ordered. Then few more people came in. People who ordered after me got their smoothies and left. Two people who came in before us still hadn't gotten their smoothies and it had been more than twenty minutes. The customers speak up and ask in a pretty calm manner about their smoothies. I have been coming to this location for years, so this is a retrospective review of my accumulated experiences here. I've been to other Smoothie King locations and I can share what's great about this site is the owner/manager staff it appropriately. Some locations try to save money with one employee working alone, and this is an utter nightmare once three customer come in. This Towson location always has two employees working, and the line of customers always moves quickly. Things I Like: - Fresh ingredients, great flavors! Tons of fruit and vegetable options. - Healthy or dirty, however you want it. They make shakes to get fat with, or purposeful options that can replace a meal. - Quick and courteous employees. They do a great job there. - Reward Program! I go here three times a week, and the app they have has already rewarded me with a few smoothies. Good program. - Supplements and snacks! Need protein powder, maybe trail mix? It's there. Things I Don't Like: - Pricing is ambitious. You could spend $10 on a large smoothie. Granted, a large smoothie is roughly the size of a keg, but still. It's ice, a banana, some power.... Right? Snacks a pricey too. They'll sell exotic potato chip options, but ask $2 for a small bag. It's pricey. - The order purchase process is confusing for any first timers, and I don't see the value in it as an MBA. You order your smoothie at the front of the store, then they make it, and hand it to you for payment at the back of the store. Why not knock it all out up front? Since I'm mostly out in Towson three fourths of everyday I've come to this location a lot. Today I came after the gym I needed something with protein to add along with my bacon and egg from Starbucks. Those at the counter are nice. Effective. The wait time was so short. Now a small breakdown. Because while it's not that big of a store. Now that comes in handy because it forced you to form a line. Yes I know we all love making three lines that is really one. And acting like we know which line we on. When really we just part of the blob. But that's okay. The menu is displayed up so if your person 2 through four you can see it. They have the prices for each size and what it contains. But good news is that beside you are products for the body. I just recently started at the gym so I'm not sure on good vs bad protein bars. And or candies. So walking in here weather it's a smoothie or a protein bar. Some slim him looking snacks. Gummies. Or what ever you will find it here. So small god yes but worth every trip. The cashier didn't explain any of the drinks and wasn't very pleasant. Received poor customer service where one of the employee arguing back. In addition, they didn't even make the drinks correctly as well. What happened: My 9 year-old son ordered first and one employee started to make the drink my son said he wanted, while we were still ordering. My son changed his mind before the transaction was completed and the cashier was telling my son to stick to what he ordered first because they didn't want to make another drink. Meanwhile, another employee was making faces while my son was making a decision. It's not our fault someone started to make the order when we wasn't done ordering. We then waited for my order, and the same employee making faces were laughing at my son while I was talking to him about making decisions for himself and not what someone says. So I looked at him and asked him what's so funny? He then denies he even did anything wrong. What I got was a smoothie that had three big squirts of what looked like blueberry pancake syrup, a couple of banana syrup squirts, some protein powder and a cup and a half of ice. Bascially frozen kool aid. And it had no real flavor. It was certainly just sweet-flavored water. Do yourself a favor: you don't need high-priced sugar water from Smoothie King. They're always friendly (possibly because they're drinking their healthy goodness all day long), knowledgable about their product, quick, clean, efficient.
