Came by for a quick smoothie because I had a coupon: I haven't been here for a while. Needed to healthy choice for lunch in the area. I used the app the place my order. Was quoted 10-15 min time frame for it to be ready. For there around 15 min after placing the order. Looks like it was under staffed. Had about 5 people inside waiting and only one person inside making smoothies. He tried his best but could not keep up. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for my order to bee ready. I stopped in this location while I waited for my lunch from the sushi restaurant a few stores down. I ordered my usual strawberry banana smoothie. There were about 4 people in the store being serviced. While I waited I noticed the over all up keep of the store was not up to par. There was some trash on the floor and the floor could have used a good mopping. My smoothie was ready in less than 5 minutes and while I waited I noticed there was a business card set up to promote my small business along with getting information about others businesses to connect with. I will be back when I am visiting the shopping center but, hopefully the store will be much cleaner. read more

This location is walking distance to my gym. So that's why I started going there. Let me tell you why I keep coming back. Could SK rival those fancy pants upscale smoothie shops next to those Lululemon-filled yoga studios? No. Are they cheap? Also no. Have they never made errors fulfilling my order? Listen.... It happens from time to time. Somehow I'm a regular here. It's not the most aesthetically pleasing. But they get me on my way home, drink in hand, able to stave off my hanger so my family doesn't get an unbearably cranky version of me barging through the door. (Major shout out to Ivy for always remembering my order!!!! Half the time my brain is still scrambled from class!). I also love the app and the rewards add up quick. Like other readers have said online, this store is filthy. I actually sent a direct message to Corporate. I visited at 9 am on a weekday.. I had surgery a few days prior, had just left the doctor's, and wanted something refreshing to drink. Immediately upon entering, I noticed the dirty rug at the entrance. The store was just honestly filthy. This tells me that no one cleaned this place the night before. But as dirty as everything else is, I dont believe this place gets cleaned frequently. The chairs were filthy, the floors, the counters, just gross. I am not sure if this store is an individually owned and operated franchise, but irregardless, Smoothie King's name is what people see, and this is their brand. I don't understand how a business or business owner sells healthy drinks with their store looking like this?  It makes me wonder how clean it is behind the counters. It's a shame that I was disappointed with my smoothie recently. This wasn't my first time here, but this time I wasn't too happy. At this time they only allow 8 guests in the store, which I am cool with as long as they make the smoothies in a timely manner. The staffer that greeted me was very pleasant, which earned SK one extra star here. But...the one that actually made my smoothie was so slow. He actually waited to make mine at the same time as a couple that came in several minutes after me, and I was wondering if their drinks were going to be handed out first. The worst part is they are using flimsy, low quality plastic cups for their 20 oz. drinks. I'm convinced that we are being short changed with these narrow cups. We're they just out of their regular cups? As I walked to my car, smoothie oozed out of the cup from and around the lid and got onto my beloved handbag. Ugh!!! Terrible. This is primarily a customer service review. I just happened to be in the area of this location today. Since I had accrued a pretty good reward from previous visits to this location, I thought it would be a great idea to finally use it or lose it. You never know what to expect with the app. Every other time that I have been there on a Friday when it was warmer, I was told that I could not use MY rewards due to the Friday special. What?!!! What better way to maximize my dollar? Oh yeah that's right, it's about maximizing the bottom line of the business. Forget about the customer! Not honoring rewards on $5 Fridays is ridiculous. If a customer has earned rewards by patronizing your business, it should not matter when they are used. Anyway, I got to the register and had to turn on the location services on my phone to use the reward. When I entered the location it was empty. Thereafter, it was one person behind me. Nevertheless, I was able to get my location services turned on to use the reward without any disruption to the flow of service to the one customer behind me. As soon as I touched the screen to activate the reward, the app malfunctioned. I showed the staff member that I clearly had a reward but it would not activate. He looked at me like there's nothing I can do. I personally do not feel that was the appropriate response or lack thereof. I went ahead and paid full price for the two beverages but not without contacting customer service through the app about this matter while I was waiting for my smoothies. My wait was a little longer than usual, as it appeared that the blenders were not working properly or the measurements were off because the staff member had to keep adding additional liquid to the smoothie to yield the proper consistency. The smoothies were tasty but I really should have cancelled the order. If the truth be told, I should have been done with this location a long time ago. Since visiting this location, there was only one young lady who had exceptional customer service but I have not seen her in awhile. Hopefully, she moved on to a job where her good customer service skills will be better utilized. I gave this visit one star for the poor customer service. The smoothie was good but the difference between good and bad customer service can make or break any visit in my opinion. read more

Owings mills branch Customer service was ok & just that ok. It would have been a plus they were all friendly & polite when entering. However it went down hill after a customer who didn't understand the ingredients in their online order had questions. The customer questions were answered but when they left the staff laughed & mocked the customer. On top of that the inside of this place smells to high heaven & not a good smell. This would be my first and last time here at smoothie king. 1. I ordered the Premama smoothie, it comes with stevia sweetener (personally I do not prefer artificial sweeteners due to taste and headaches). I asked the cashier to either leave it out completely or if they had plain sugar. She stated they could put in plain sugar. I received my smoothie and left immediately as I was going to a doctor's appointment. As I was drinking this in the car, I knew it didn't taste like real sugar immediately. This is my third time back in a week. We're trying to do a fruit, vegatable, and whole grain fast for 3 weeks. I've ordered the same vegan dark chocolate banana smoothie during each visit and each time it has been prepared differently. The first one was light in color and gritty, but tasty. The second one was perfect, smooth, sweetened nicely from the bananas, but still medium in color. The third was very dark in color and less sweet. In fact, the dark chocolate overwhelmed the flavor of the smoothie. Perhaps, this is the way it's supposed to be made. I don't know. Consistency is important to me, especially when I'm limited to just fruits and veggies. When it was first handed to me, I said to the employee that this doesn't look like the drink I ordered yesterday. She said nothing and walked away. I turned to the cashier and said that I guess she doesn't care. I paid for my smoothie and got a straw to taste it. It was far different than the first or second. So I asked for it to be remade. 5 minutes later, I received another smoothie of the same variety that was made by another employee. He advised me to try it before leaving. It was still different in taste in texture than the first. Ah well, I thought. I walked out, drink in hand, knowing that I would not be ordering this drink again and taking my business to Tropical Smoothie up the street. I placed my first order online for smoothies for myself and my coworkers (a total of 6 smoothies). I got there 20 minutes after ordering and there was no sign of them making my smoothies. When I asked the employee if they would start mine soon, she rolled her eyes when I stated that I placed an order for 6. It was another 20 minutes before starting. While standing and waiting, the smell in the place was a combination of trash and rotting fruit. I then observed a worker drop and pump container of something on the floor then pick it up and use it, I saw another employee use her finger (that she just used to hold her cell phone) to wipe the dripping smoothie into a cup and when the customer asked her to remake she got offended. Next, someone dropped the lid to a food container on the floor then replace on the container. I saw an employee with long hair, constantly brushing her hair out of the way only to touch the food again. There was a line of impatient and upset patrons, many asking for refunds and many taking a loss and walking out. I would have done this also but at an hour of waiting, I needed to get back to work but also needed a refund since I was in about $50. I asked one of the employees for a refund and they all got an attitude, as I had done something wrong. I have actually never posted on yelp but have to share this info. This location sucks! The service is beyond horrible! I can not spend 25 minutes attempting to get a smoothie in the mornings because of the slow person or people that work there! There are a few days out of the week when they young ladies are really good about getting you in and out. I wish the management would either have them full time in the morning or have someone who can handle the store work. It was okay, but I wish I'd knew it was healthy before I went. I didn't regret the experience, but it's in the bag. I don't remember exactly what I got, but it was one of the Power Punches which was strawberry banana flavor with additives of caffeine energy. It was kinda pricey and not as sweet as a regular fruit smoothie, nor did I notice any effects. Maybe I'm weird, ha! I wouldn't necessaarily go here out of my way or replace a meal with Smoothie King. Worst experience ever. Got a gladiator smoothie and it had plastic in it. Large plastic pieces from the bags of fruit they use or somewhere. So gross. Tried to call 4-5 times. Left one message and never got a call back. Phone went right to voicemail like it was a cellphone or something. Tried email and social media to contact them about this to no avail. This place is terrible. Went there this morning around 11:30am for a lunchtime smoothie. I ordered a 20oz and 32oz Strawberry recharge which the price came up to $16.49 which was totally different than what the price on the menu. I asked the young lady why the prices were different and she just said she didn't know and that's what the prices are. UNACCEPTABLE customer service so I then asked for my money back to leave. The other person who I guess is a manager asked her what was the problem after he saw everything that happened and the young girl with braids started talking negatively about me like I caused the issue. I told her along with the guy on duty that their customer service need to be much better. She then yelled at me that I need to talk better. Now Since I had the mask on required to enter the Smoothie King and along with my frustration, I told her I have on a mask so of course my language won't be clear dumbass. I never had such bad customer service at that location before but from this point forward I will tell all my friends from the gym who frequent that location to stay away. I walked into Owings Mills since I was in the area first thing i saw were prices were 1.00 higher than Timonium location. In addition people were waiting in line being ignored. My wife and I walked out said nope. had to go by York road anyways so went there and was greeted right away and out in 5 minutes. read more

This morning I walked into smoothie king and I was told that they are not taking anymore orders because the register would not open. They did not have a manager in the store. The girl working the counter said her manager told her on the phone to kick everyone out till he got to the store. The employee had four friend hanging out in the store. I watched the four friends get free smoothies before walking out. I told her I would wait outside for the manager. 20 min later the manager showed up. I told him that one employee talked to me outside and I explained how to restart and fix the machine. I have lots of experience with POS. The manager ignored me and went in the store. I stood outside the store and turned at least 30 ppl away bc the employees were hiding in the back. It is obvious that the management does not care that the staff is not trained properly to handle situations when left unsupervised.
