And in conclusion..... Every time I come here the staff is so nice. I always forget to ask for oat milk at bubble tea places and they always confirm here "is whole milk ok?" which is great for reminding me. The drinks are always exactly how I asked for them. But really it's the staff that makes me love this place. I came here after lunch because I wanted something cool and some extra protein to take with me as I just went hiking and apple picking. I needed more than just caffeine. Comes this place. I don't remember the last time I have been to a Smoothie King, but it feels like it has redid itself to have a lot of extras and combinations of flavors. This reminds me of the brand Robeks. Or was it Robeks that reminds me of this place. Either or, my experience here wasn't bad. I wish they had seating beyond the single bench outside that faces the sun in the afternoons. Besides that, I enjoyed my smoothie. The staff was nice and I had no issues. It was a bit confusing to order as you order, then walk all the way in to pay. read more

This location does not enforce proper use of face coverings for their staff. While I was waiting for my smoothie I noticed a staff member with her nose out of her mask, frequently touching her face, sniffling and even hugged a customer that she apparently knew. When I approached to pay, I asked the staff member at the register and asked if a manager was on duty. He pointed to the lady who was not wearing her mask appropriately while making other's drinks. When I explained she needed to have her nose covered, especially while making smoothies, she responded with, "it's a little hard to do." She ignored the rest of my concern and continued to make smoothies with her nose exposed. As a nurse I understand the challenges with wearing a mask all day BUT everyone is having to do this and food establishments need to follow the regulations set by the State of Maryland. read more

I normally go for more of a green smoothie, but it's still good. I got the mixed berry vegan substituting kale for the oat milk. Satisfying.

Came in this evening (6 pm) - requested 2 smoothies. Two additional individuals came in after me. They somehow managed to get their drinks and walked out before me. I jokingly said to the young man working "what did someone forget my order?" he looked at me with the 'deer in the headlights look' not even a simple 'sorry' or an explanation. I was employed here at Smoothie King of Frederick a number of year ago. I had been back a few times, here and there, but most recently, my experience was very eye opening. When I was employed, we were tasked with cleaning everything twice a day, and I mean EVERYTHING. At the time, I didn't understand why the owner was so strict about it. Having been back a few times since the store changed hands, I clearly see why the previous owner was so strict about keeping it clean. I came in with 3 friends - 2 of which ordered but I opted out after seeing the place. Here is what I noticed in the less than 3 minutes I was in there. (front to back) - Fruit (mostly strawberries) all over the floor near the front, could see it clear as day with their new open look. - Powders, a complete mess, spilling over, and caked/dried on the edges of the containers. This tells me that they are likely never changed out or switched out. - Glass back splash looked like it hadn't been wiped/cleaned in weeks, dried fruit juices, finger prints, etc. This is crazy to me because we know people like to watch their smoothie being made and to see it through this gross glass window tells a lot. - Shelves around the store and especially in front of the register had dust, lint and HAIR on them. - Down by the register, the ceiling had to have had 500+ fruit flies. Now listen, we all know fruit flies are a major pain BUT one can't help to think most, if not all, can be avoided if the store was properly cleaned/maintained and the fruit was properly stored. Can't help but to think/imagine how many are in the fruit and/or in customers smoothies. Even just 1 is 1 too many. Aside from those things, my friends said they enjoyed their smoothies. read more

I hate to be that guy to leave something negative, but I hope it helps for the future. This use to be my favorite smoothie king location, who had people that knew you by your name, and now it's almost like everyone working their is brand new. I know people will not stick around forever in the food business, people come people go, I don't care if they know my name when I walk through door. However, it took over 5 minutes for the new employees to understand my order and there was no one working with experience to help the new employees. I don't blame employees being new not having a lot of experience, but I do think it a management issue when there no one with experience available to help new employees. Hopefully the change of management will eventually sort itself out, it's one weekly on the go in a hurt stops, but today I could got a meal in the amount of time I waited for my smoothie, and sadly they almost gave me the wrong one. I know their trying their best, but perhaps management and leadership can step up and help the employees. read more

Literally been in here everyday for the past week so I thought I'd write a review. Everyone is super nice and friendly.. Anything I've ever gotten or tried has been really good. Green Tea Tango & Island Impact are my typical go-to drinks. Knocked off a star only cause it's not the healthiest place in the world but it's my "treat" for sticking to a good diet. Terrible customer service multiple times I've been there. They have a curbside pickup option where you call the store once you get there and they bring your smoothie out, which seems convenient, but at least two of the employees always seem angry when they answer the phone like you've inconvenienced them and they try to get you to come into the store and get it yourself. Don't have curbside pickup if your customer service is that bad! Also I'm allergic to bananas and I got a smoothie with the bananas substituted for something else but they put bananas in there anyway, causing me to have an allergic reaction. On July 16, the girl charged me for a smoothie I didn't order. She looked about 15 and it was a mistake so I didn't want to get mad at her, but as the minutes went by with no resolution I was getting more annoyed. She couldn't figure out how to give me my money back and said a manager was supposed to show up at 3 pm, but it was 3:20 they still weren't there and no one working knew how to refund me. I left my name, number, and receipt for a manager to call me back later. They didn't call, so I called back at 5 pm, a manager still wasn't there, and the guy who answered said "your receipt was probably thrown away anyways." So rude and I will not be back to this location, get a manager on duty to run the place or you're going to lose more customers. read more

Each time I have gone, the service was poor. They were very slow, messed up the order, or forgot a smoothie. It would take me over 30 minutes to place an order, get my smoothies, and leave. I found that to be too much of a hassle. The first smoothie I had was their strawberry slim something. It was bad. The second time I tried something else. It was better but I couldn't finish it. The last smoothie I had of theirs was their green tea. It was brown. It tasted nothing like green tea. I drank it. But I would have preferred robeks. My kids dont like their smoothies either. I think i found my new favorite smoothie place, I use to go to wawa for strawberry smoothies but wanted something healthier, went into smoothie king found a smoothie that said it was a meal replacer and helped with weight management, called the slim-n-trim and it was FANTASTIC even with protein in it, you could barely taste it which I find is the issue with most energy supplements. Only issue is that they make you print out coupons and wont use them off phone, as well as prices. read more

Love Smoothie King of Frederick, I go atleast twice a week and it's our favorite place to go as a family to get a refreshing, healthy snack. My favorite is the Angel Food and I get two enhancers, every employee that's made it has done fabulous and we love and appreciate the service.
