This smoothie king is phenomenal! I love the customer service I always receive when I'm here. The smoothies are so delicious and I try to get a different one most of the time. My favorite to go to is always the immune builder with frozen Greek yogurt. I also love how clean the facility is! Always judge a place by the restroom! On Fridays they have a free upsize Friday! The Peanut power plus smoothie was really good! I came on a Friday to get the free upgrade and honestly having that 40oz smoothie covered most of my macros in a days worth of food. Most smoothies dont appear to be balanced in carb to protein ratio, so be mindful when using it as a meal replacement. Staff was helpful in making sure I ordered the correct menu item and got my substitutions correct. The store was neat and clean, but it has a funny fruit smell inside. They have some other snack items around the store---not all of them are actually healthy, so be sure to read labels. They also have a few seats available in the store, so you could stick around if you weren't in a rush. read more

This place has become my little pleasure after I go to the gym on the weekends. I went both this past Saturday and Sunday and got a 32oz Banana Berry (Blast?) smoothie, that is so very tasty and soothing on my way home. I like that it has protein and is filling, plus not terribly high in calories. This juice/smoothie chain it's probably the worst compared to the others such as pure Rall across the street, and also Jamba Juice. Smoothie king makes all their smoothies from artificial ingredients, and when we were there 3/4 of the contents of the smoothie is ice, that means you're only getting 1/4 of actual ingredients and most of it is sugar. MMM I am so happy this place is down the street from my new place! I stopped in after one of those days where it was like 21839 Billion degrees outside. I had a custom Pineapple, Strawberry, Banana and Kiwi smoothie and honestly it was one of best I've had in a while. Do not let the fact that this is chain stop you from going in, as I believe they may all be privately owned anyway (someone correct me if not the case). Quick tip is to sign up for the app so you can get your points when you go in, I was caught slipping and didn't have my account set up. a clean smoothie king always with friendly service! there's a huge parking lot in this strip mall, so that's never a problem. I have been to this location twice and there was never a line. on fridays they have medium smoothies for $5 (by the way the medium is HUGE; would NEVER be able to finish it all!) not sure when the $5 deal ends but it's only for a limited time. the second time I went they made my smoothie incorrectly and I didn't realize it until I got home. We were in the area of Fed Hill and I was craving a smoothie so my husband picked me up a one from this location. The wait wasn't long but it's best to go with someone else so you can avoid the hassle of city parking. I got a 20oz angel food smoothie which was delicious. The 20oz size is quite large so I'm not sure how much more anyone needs in a smoothie. They were incredibly rude to my wife when it was a simple issue. Rather than be understanding to whatever issue took place during the online ordering, the manager told her to "come back here and look at my machine" referring to them not having her order, despite the transaction showing on her app and on her bank account. So I don't know what all the hype about Jamba Juice is, but Smoothie King here is the OG. I'm a long time fan of the Angel Food (strawberry and banana dominant), but have recently become a fan of the Green Tea Tango (choose your own fruit, not on the menu for some reason). Be aware that the smoothies are sweeter than most, but you can definitely customize it to your preference. This particular shop is near Latrobe park where you can play tennis, basketball, hockey or let your dog roam free in the dog park and then stop by for a refreshing smoothie. One star off for some inconsistencies in blending and ingredient proportions, but always a solid bet. read more

Worst customer service. Ordered a Lil'Angel for my niece and asked if could get a 20 oz. rather than a 12 oz. which I had previously done at this location. The cashier tried to get me to order a different drink with different ingredients. I ordered 2 Lil'Angels and asked that they be put into the same cup. Again the person taking my order tried to get me to order something else. He finally understood what I wanted and rang me up. He made my smoothie but not the Lil'Angels and left the store. I then had to explain to another person that I wanted the 2 smoothies in one cup. I asked her to just put it in the 32 oz. cup. Instead she poured it into a 20 oz. cup. I asked her to please put it in a larger cup because I paid for 24 oz. She refused and put the remainder in a courtesy cup so I still had two drinks. She seemed confused as to why I wanted the rest of the drink that I paid for. Strange that they could put it in a 20 oz. cup, what I originally asked for, but not the 32 oz. cup. I even told them that I realize that the 32 oz. cup won't be full. Today (04/27/2019) my wife brought a smoothie and when she drunk it on her way to her hair stylist, she realized it wasn't good, so she stopped drinking it. Since she had a hair appointment she had to wait until after her hair was finished to return to the store. When she complained the clerk stated it wasn't their smoothie and they also claimed she did something to the smoothie. The manager came over and declared the same. My wife insisted that she received the smoothie from their and the manager and clerk protested. She requested another smoothie or her money returned and she was denied. The manager refused, my wife proceeded to ask for the manager's name so that she could report him and the store to the BBB. The manager refused and after requesting the name several times he stated Jay but refused to give a last name. The manager stated he was calling the cops.Yes, you heard me right When the cops got there the manager stated my wife threatened him because she said, she would contact the BBB. The cop attempted to hear both sides and tried to come to a peaceful resolution, all my wife wanted was an apology and that was not granted. Please be aware you can't return items to this store without the cops being called. It is a shame that my wife had to experience such disrespect. I've been a huge fan of SK's smoothies since I can remember, but a number of the employees at the Fort Avenue location would be better suited for a job at Dick's Last Resort-- the tacky restaurant known for inconsiderate waiters that seemingly go out of their way to inconvenience or disrespect their patrons. Example: The man behind the counter today was of zero help in telling us what was in a particular smoothie-- the Watermelon Hydrator. He said they used to have a pamphlet on its ingredients, but they ran out. He then walked away to the back before we could follow up with him. While he was gone, we quickly googled the drink and found the ingredients and nutritional information. I asked the guy who was there if they used concentrate and he answered "nothing with strawberry, banana or kiwis has concentrate" which wasn't true based on the huge menu on the wall... that also said "all ingredients are not listed".. what does that mean? I've been coming here for a few weeks now almost daily , the shakes are excellent and I can't complain , however - today I found out fast has noting to do with customer service . We've all been in situations where we're multitasking for lunch , by my own admission I hit my elbow walking out and spilled my delicious shake without ever taking a sip . My fault - I own it , when I went back inside to plead my case I was told I have to get another while the owner quickly mopped up the two drops leaking off me . I understand I sound like a whiny brat looking for a handout - I was just surprised that nothing was offered to someone who has spent close to $75 on shakes in the last few weeks . No harm no foul - there's another shake place across the road which I've been meaning to try . The employees are always of very little help when you ask about a certain smoothie and seem annoyed when your placing your order. Been there three times and that has been my experience every time.
