We arrived during a staff meeting concluding and fortunately we were welcomed in. I ordered the Harmony Bowl, while SCW got the Rueben. I ordered a local pilsner while we waited and enjoyed it. Our order came out about 10 minutes after and we were on our way. I was struck by the weight of our take out. Only a few items but yeah, it was heavy. I really enjoyed the Harmony bowl. So much fresh veggies, great tempeh, and yes the veggies! Really good, not salty, not soaked in oil. Really, really good. SCW oradered the Rueben. Really good as well. Great vegan rueben that wasn't soaked in oil. Laughing seed was awesome. The people were great and so welcoming. Give Laughing Seed Cafe a chance. I'm sure you'll enoy it.

We actually picked this place at random when we went to a local pizza place down a dirt road that sold out by 6pm...gonna have to make sure we make it back there next time for sure. However, this place was a pleasant surprise. Menu is a bit intimidating, just pick some items and go and you'll be fine. It's one of those "order while standing up and then we'll bring your food out while you get your own drinks" type of places which I'm not a huge fan of. I got the Sunny Side burger...somehow or maybe I built one, can't remember. I remember being sad I forgot to get bacon especially after trying my girlfriend's bacon from her burger....GET THE BACON!!! IT'S NOT CRAPPY BACON BUT AMAZING!! They were able to accommodate her gluten allergy with a gluten-free bun but the fries could have cross-contamination as there is not a dedicated gluten-free fryer. She risked it anyways and for good reason (also she never got sick but your results and sensitivity may vary!), she wanted these jalapeño bacon cheese fries and wow were they good! They had picked onions on them which seemed odd but it worked...it worked really well. I couldn't stop eating her fries. As far as fries go...not everyone needs to order them. They give you way too many, not Five Guys too many, but way too many for an average eater with a big fat burger. Not one person in our group finished their burger and fries. If I was home I would have taken them home to my chickens and I don't think even they could finish them all in one sitting. The other thing I didn't like was how they do seating...I had to sit at the bar with my kids because all of the tables were taken up by 1 or 2 people when they could seat six. We saw several people come in after us and one person from their group would go claim a table while their group was in line ordering, preventing the people ordering ahead of them from finding a spot. Having a hostess seat people would make this place five stars.

The lady taking our order patiently answered all of our questions and accommodated everyone's dietary requests. Our food was delivered to us at the table. All of the food was fresh and delicious! Despite our large party, including one additional to-go order, our food was delivered quickly and correctly. Moral of the story....believe the Yelp reviews!

Everything we had (we shared several dishes) was absolutely delicious!!! We started with the cheese board, and added the special broccolini of the evening. For a Wednesday night, the place was very busy, so it's obvious Asheville appreciates and understands good food. When we arrived two or three other tables were seated, one was just placing their order and the others appeared to have their food. It took nearly 40 minutes for our order to be served: two salads, an omelette and three sides, one of which were fries that appeared to be uncooked. We also ordered the Roasted Brussel Sprout Salad. Not only were the sprouts not roasted, but cold, like they had just come out of the refrigerator. When we said something to our server, her reply was, "What would you like me to do." We asked for the fries to be removed from our bill, and should have done the same for the salad. Fortunately, the omelette and second salad were enjoyable for the rest of our party, which is why this review is getting two stars.
