Everything bagel with scallion cream cheese - bagel was way too hard. Would not recommend.

A lot to like about Odd's Cafe! We came in on a Friday morning and ordered at the counter right away. The inside has a good amount of seating, and we saw folks working; it's really chill, and the service is friendly. Drinks were prepared speedily and were so delish. I enjoyed my hot brambleberry chai latte (a special), which had light notes of berry. The iced Thai coffee was also tasty and not overly sweet. To eat, I got a strawberry coffee cake slice, which was crumbly, fruity, and perfect - I want the recipe! I unfortunately have to leave off a star for the bagel. We got a toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, and although the cream cheese was nice, the bagel was absolutely rock hard. We tried our best to eat it, but it started to hurt, and we just couldn't get through it. Come here for a cool place to hang out/work with drinks and pastries, but avoid the bagels.

Great baked goods and great coffee but it's the soft music and cool breeze from the open converted garage door window that makes this place a great stop. While you shouldn't be in a hurry because the vibe is all about slow down and enjoy the moment, the service is quick and friendly. We enjoyed on this most recent visit a slice of quiche and gluten free frittata and a blueberry scone (with big fresh blueberries) as well as a piece of strawberry oat bar. That all went well with our cappuccinos served in mugs. Nothing odd about enjoying the moment at Odd's Cafe!

Solid spot for a Coffee and work session, but there are other more amazing coffee shops in the area. Asheville definitely has some five-star coffee establishments. I will say that this is a nice neighborhood place and I wouldn't skip it but I also wouldnt go out of my way for it. I totally agree that unless you're going at an off hour during the week day it's difficult to find parking. Love the ambience and the tall ceilings and wood tables. Lots of space to sit and work but it's all very open. So it's definitely not gonna be quiet. They d have a little bit of outdoor seating as well. Bathrooms are in the back and shared. The smoothie was huge, but felt like maybe they added water? I hope so because otherwise it would've been half my daily calories. I would've taken it smaller and stronger taste. But I did like the flavor in general. Iced coffee was OK. They had a lot of food to choose from and I appreciate that it was plentiful and diverse especially for a coffee shop.

This is a great coffee/pastry/quiche shop located in a cool walkable neighborhood. We were visiting Asheville and a friend who, lives in town, suggested we meet here for a coffee. When we first arrived around 10:00 am, it was great. No lines and plenty of seats. There is even outside seating in the back. By 11:00, it was crazy packed. It was hard to maneuver in and out, and the line was out the door. suggestion is go early. The name implies that this is a lunch place, but we only saw pastries, cookies and quiches. I tried the gingersnap it was really good. I was surprised that it wasn't a soft cookie, but it still was really good.

Ordered a cappuccino here with oat milk, and it tasted fine. The smooth foam blended in with the drink, so that I could enjoy the texture of both as I drank it. The espresso at the base had a slight tartness instead of the nuttiness that I usually prefer with my espresso, but it was not too bad. The ambiance was chill, and it has a nice outdoor patio in the back if you want to sit outside, and service was quick and responsive.

Cute cafe environment was cozy with walls covered in art and friendly service. Grabbed some tasty smoothies and a slice of quiche to go along with some coffees.

Love the vibes! I visited here a few times during my trip to Asheville. The iced mocha latte and salted maple latte are delicious. They have plenty of seating inside. This was one of the few coffee shops in town that are open during the evening, which was really great for studying after work.

    My yummy gingerbread coffees!

Felt like I slipped back into the 60s for a cup of coffee. Obviously a local favorite for a great cup of coffee and a pumpkin muffin.

I like that you can bring your dog and use their wifi. Open air in summer is nice. However the bathrooms are really disgusting!

There's also some art on the wall, which you can purchase and, I did! They have a few food options as well, and we grabbed a sausage kolache and toasted bagel to munch on in the car on the way home. The sausage was more hotdog than sausage, but then again, a hotdog is a sausage so there you go! Could definitely see Battle Cat being a regular stop if I lived in that part of Asheville.

COFFEE, KOLACHES, AND MORE! (Even alcohol!)…read more I try to avoid Haywood Road however when I heard they have kolaches here I had to come try them. This joint has now become one of my study session go-to spots! My current favorite coffee in town is the fall menu Sweet Potato Marshmallow Latte! Kolache selections vary depending on the time of day, as they're made fresh in small batches. My favorites are the jalapeño egg and the sausage gravy flavors. Inside seating is adequate, and there are some tables with access to outlets. Staff has always been friendly. Music selection is usually really good! The downside is the parking, there is a decent amount of street parking, especially compared to Haywood Road more west of here. I've never had a problem getting a spot during morning/early afternoon on any day of the week. If you're on the opposite side and trying to walk across the street, cars don't stop for you at the crosswalk in my experience

It feels intentionally put together without being fussy, the kind of place where you can savor a slow morning or catch up with friends and still hear each other talk. Coffee and vanilla lattes The vanilla lattes were beautifully balanced: smooth espresso, creamy milk, and a vanilla note that tasted more like a crafted flavor than a syrupy afterthought. They were the kind of drink you notice sip by sip--no bitterness, no burn, just a clean, rounded cup that shows how serious Rowan is about its coffee program. Pastries: apple brie galette The apple brie galette was a standout, layering gentle sweetness from the apples with the subtle richness of brie in a flaky, buttery crust that felt more like a bakery feature than a "typical" coffee shop pastry. It paired perfectly with the latte, giving that sweet-savory bite that makes you slow down and actually enjoy breakfast instead of just grabbing something on the go. Pastries: apricot pistachio galette The apricot pistachio galette was equally memorable, with bright, tangy apricot lifted by the nutty crunch of pistachios, again in a delicate, well-baked crust. Together, the flavors were sophisticated without being pretentious--approachable, interesting, and exactly what you hope to find in a city known for its food and drink. Service and overall impression Service matched the quality of the menu: friendly, patient baristas who clearly know their craft and are happy to guide you without any trace of attitude. Rowan Coffee is the rare place where the coffee, food, and atmosphere all show the same level of care, and after vanilla lattes plus an apple brie and apricot pistachio galette, it becomes an easy "don't miss this" recommendation for Asheville.

One thing that stood out to me right away: the barista pulling espresso shots while weighing each pull from start to finish. That level of precision is exactly the kind of detail that makes a coffee nerd like me smile. It shows they care about consistency and dialing things in, not just pushing drinks across the bar. The shop itself has a really cool aesthetic -- minimalist but warm -- with a quiet corner vibe that makes it a great place to slow down and actually enjoy what you're drinking. I started with a cortado, which was beautifully balanced. The espresso came through clearly while the milk softened it just enough -- smooth, rich, and exactly what a cortado should be. Then I tried both of their seasonal drinks. Roses Are Falling (no mocha) was delicate and aromatic, with floral notes that felt intentional rather than perfumey. It was subtle, interesting, and really well composed. I also had the Hello Ruby, which brought a brighter flavor profile and rounded out the experience nicely. Both drinks showed a lot of creativity without losing the coffee itself. Between the precision behind the bar, the thoughtful drink menu, and the calm, stylish space, Rowan is a standout coffee stop in Asheville. Definitely a place for people who appreciate the craft behind the cup.
