Been a while and a bit disappointe. Ribs didn't seem real fresh seemed like they had some sauce in them and they were a bit dry. Got beans and a couple of "cups". Beans, not so much. Disgusting! Ordered the brisket and ribs with both sauces on the side. The ribs did not taste fresh, and I was not going to swallow that, completely inedible. The brisket was better than the ribs but still nothing to write home about, nothing tasty about the meat at all. The sauces were horrible. After spending $30 on these meats after 2 bites it went straight to the trash. Also to have a name like "Smokin Bros BBQ" I would expect to have a smoke ring on the meat or at-least taste like it was smoked. The ribs seems to be boiled and baked. Kingwood Center's Cafe was unexpectedly closed when we arrived to eat and then tour, so we, two famished friends, went looking for someplace to stuff our faces. My friend was hesitant to go here because I'm a vegetarian, but we'd looked it up and seen the mac and cheese on the menu or I'd assumed they'd have mac and cheese or fries or some other side. Anyway, Smokin' Bros, located inside another restaurant, is where we got take-out. We ordered food from a nice woman in a cute, mostly green tropical dress (I'm still thinking about it over a week later!) and then took it to eat at Kingwood. My friend liked her BBQ, as she tends to do, and I really liked my mac and cheese. It had just the right amount of spice/seasoning/whatever. I'm kind of curious as to what it would taste like with some breadcrumbs, but as I live several hundred miles away, I will probably never know. Such awesome hosts! We came just before closing and talked for some time with the owners. They are incredible folks with a desire to please. Great barbecue and great company. This business started in a trailer at fairs and festivals. They grew to a permanent location now. Order at the counter and wait for delicious results. I got the barbecue brisket cup. Great idea. Baked beans base topped with tender melt in your mouth brisket and drizzled with tangy cole slaw and the ultimate topping...barbecue sauce. Sweet tangy delicious foodgasm. Perfect to go meal. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed as well. They were open on a Sunday in a town where nothing else is. Well worth a taste! Decor is mod industrial. Clean and simple but stylish. We were in the area today and saw some of the reviews and thought we'd check it out as we really enjoy BBQ. The brisket was alright, but there are other places we prefer and way too much sauce. The mac and cheese I would not order again. The corn bread was good and the potato salad was fine but tasted like pre-packed from the grocery store. We do not live in this area so perhaps this is the only BBQ spot in town. If so, we'd come back but we wouldn't go out of our way to try this place again. Also. Masks are not optional at this time. Customers coming in when we were checking out did not have masks. Perhaps have a mask sign on your door. Let me start by saying I feel compelled to write reviews maybe once a year and after eating here the experience definitely called for taking time to write a five star review. I was in Mansfield for the first time and after riding my bike on the Mansfield B&O Bike Path, I googled best food in Mansfield and this place showed up in the top results. I didn't expect a bbq place to show up in the search results but it did and I was immediately excited because I love trying new bbq places. This place nails everything from atmosphere, service, menu design, meats, sides and bbq sauces. You feel welcome from the second you walk in until you leave and the staff (owners?) check in frequently to make sure you are enjoying everything. As for the bbq meats, they melt in your mouth and stand on their own without sauce but they level up when you put a little of each delicious sauce on them. Highly recommend this place. read more

I've been dying to try this place but was disappointed. They are in the same building as Empress Express and it was decorated nicely and very clean. The 2 woman who waited on me were very sweet and helpful. That being said the food was lacking. I got a brisket sandwich with carolina vinegar sauce on the side and mac n cheese. The brisket was tough. It wasn't super dry like other briskets I have had but the meat was still pretty tough. There was also a lot of fatty pieces in my sandwich that I couldn't eat. My dog enjoyed those pieces but I did not. The meat itself had no seasoning. It was screaming for some salt n pepper. I did like the vinegar sauce but the meat still needed to be seasoned even with the sauce on it. The mac and cheese was weird but not bad. As soon as I looked at it I knew there was something different to it because of the color. It looks and tasted like they added some spicy bbq sauce to it. It wasn't bad but nothing I would come back for. I do think they should change the name to spicy mac and cheese or give an item description on the menu. A lot of children order mac and cheese and this definitely spicy and not your normal mac. I really wanted to try this place and like it especially because I love to support local businesses. My husband and I stopped at Smokin' Bros on a whim while we were driving through Mansfield. This place did not disappoint! We got our food to go... be warned, these are very generously sized, very saucy sandwiches. Not the best for eating while driving, but absolutely worth the mess you may make. We got a few pulled pork sandwiches. 2 with their regular BBQ sauce. It's was perfectly sweet, had a nice tang, and was wonderfully thick. My husband went with a vinegar sauce... and finished it too quickly for me to snag a bite, but he said it was awesome! The sandwiches are impressively heavy. You really get some bang for your buck. We also tried their coleslaw and potato salads, both well executed. What surprised us the most though, was the cornbread. It was some kind of magic! Just imagine if yellow cake and cornbread had a baby, and you slathered the top in butter. So delicious! 3 sandwiches, 2 sides, and 2 orders of cornbread for under $30. Went for a drive today to Mansfield to check this place out. Locally owned restaurant. Decided to try the trio sampler. 3 ribs, 1/4 lb of pulled pork and brisket. Ribs had loads of meat on them and we're cooked perfectly where they had just a little tug to them. The pulled pork was so succulent, OMG!!! I asked for a little fat on the brisket, it was so tender and juicy. Flavor from the cherry wood was so good. They have two sauces. One traditional with 17 ingredients, delicious. They also have a Carolina which typically I don't even try but they insisted, probably the best I have ever tried. The Mac n cheese was made with twisted noodles and a ton of cheese and very thick, not baked, off the charts for non baked Mac n cheese. The baked beans were delicious, very thick with real pork/brisket and brown sugar in it. Cornbread was sweet and very dense. Super flavorful. Talked for quite a bit with the owners, Dan/Denise. They truly care about the business. You can tell by the quality and care they have put into their product. If you're remotely close to the area and don't come to check it out, sorry about your luck. They started with a trailer some years ago and still use it for events. Ribs are their thing and they know how to slow cook them. They have dry rub and bbq. While they have a few tables they are mainly take out. They offer brisket sandwich, baked beans that are much more and banana pudding with vanilla wafers- excellent Whether you want lunch or a couple of racks for dinner this is the place. By far the best BBQ I've had in years and definitely the best BBQ restaurant. The owners were extremely friendly and the food was amazing. One of my metrics is how good a BBQ place does with it's Mac and Cheese. Many places are bland and congealed globs of noodles. The Mac and cheese here is creamy and has great flavor. The cornbread is delicious and goes great with your meats. My main meal was a sample platter which I always do at places for my first visit to BBQ joints. Everything was great but I mostly liked the ribs and pulled pork. For our dessert, we had banana pudding and anyone that knows me, knows that I am a banana pudding addict.
