The owner has been doing it this way for a long time, so I know it's a local favorite, just not the type of bbq I would prefer. I wasn't fond of the sides as well (cornbread, beans, mac & cheese, potato salad). They could be great for someone else - just not what I'm used to. Lastly, I wish there was a sampler platter to choose from as the overall cost was fairly high, around $70 which gave us a ton of food leftover. Still, six runs in that temperature with a stiff wind took the energy out of me. That's when the Backcountry Bar and Grill came through with a superb Irish Coffee that allowed me to be back after thawing out, with new energy and desire to ski. We then came over here for an early Apre Ski. Five people had superb brews, superb Ultimate Grilled Cheese, awesome Chicken Sandwich. And a Backcountry Pulled Pork with an Apple bourbon barbecue sauce that had me licking my fingers. The bartender was the best I've seen in New England. My personal favorites here were the brisket and their pork ribs, although the flat cut of the brisket (the lean part) was a tad dry.
