This was the best bbq in Indianapolis I've had in I can't remember when. Tender meat, well balanced house sauces and delicious sides. I enjoyed the banana pudding also. All of the younger people working here were very friendly and attentive. A warm atmosphere and experience, worth the drive.

    Brisket and pulled pork.

It does not look as though you are entering a restaurant when you approach, but you are. I think they are configured more for takeout, but they have access to the large event area with cafeteria-style seating. So there is plenty of room to eat in if you'd prefer (which we did). The hours seem a little limited so be sure to check before you go. The menu, including the specials, is on a white board as you walk in. The selection is streamlined, BBQ-dominated and carnivore-oriented (other than the sides). The system is a walk-up and order from the kitchen doorway. My wife chose the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Baked Beans while I opted for the Chopped Chicken Sandwich with Kickin Coleslaw. The food was very good. The proprietors were very friendly and engaging, and that was a plus. The prices were quite reasonable. With drinks and tip, it was about $14 each. My wife actually took enough away from hers for another meal, so it was a good deal. Our daughter and son-in-law live close, so we hope to try this place again when we visit.

I came across beach bum at Indiana city brewing during the 4th of July celebration. You have to start with beer, and I had something delicious and new to me. The Apple ale. There was a good amount of activity outside so I went to check out the dj and the bags games because this is Indiana. After contemplation I finally pulled the trigger and went and ordered off the truck. The menu is impressive! Plenty of options, but what stuck out to me was the lobster tacos! Oh lord they were delicious, the lobster was delicious and not skinny. Flour tortillas, and a juicy pico with a creamy sauce that all around was awesome. Hate to admit gluttony in writing but I wolfed down the tacos and hope I see this truck again soon '

Fortunately, I had the opportunity to catch up with them at a Milkshake IPA party at Guggman Haus where BBBq was providing the food. So glad I did! The folks in the truck were cranking out the sandwiches quickly. I ordered the Chopped Brisket and the Ric Flair Sandwich. The sandwiches aren't cheap, but they don't taste cheap either. The brisket was not shredded, but somehow the large chunks of juicy (with a hint of char) beef mostly stayed inside the bun. The flavor? Excellent. They also have four kinds of BBQ sauce to add (a hot sauce, a sweet, a Carolina mustard, and a mango.) The meat has a lot of flavor on its own, but dialing it in with the sauces can really take it to another level. The Ric Flair was a pulled pork sandwich topped with a creamy, yet tangy coleslaw and sliced pickles. I have to admit that this one is messy. The thickly loaded sandwich is challenging to keep together and you may end up wearing a bit if you aren't careful. But the flavor? Again, it was delicious. Be sure to grab lots of napkins and possibly a fork because I am certain there will be some tasty bits that spill out onto the paper tray the sandwich is served in. Excellent food. Friendly and quick service. And I found out that they are getting close to opening their brick and mortar store in Washington Square Mall in the Fall of 2019. They will be on the northwest side of the mall building. I am glad I finally found a time and location for meeting up with this food truck. I am looking forward to the new stationary spot to open. The sandwich is about as long as my humerus, and I ate the whole dang thing in one sitting. New York Gourmet Deli is not to be confused with NY Gourmet Deli, also in Indy. New York Gourmet Deli is located on East 21st Street on the near east side; NY Gourmet Deli is on Ruckle Street, near The Children's Museum. Are they owned by the same people? I don't know, but someone needs to change their name so I'm less confused. Anyway, New York Gourmet Deli, on the east side, is great and located in an unassuming parking lot full of potholes. It looks like a liquor store from the outside, but step inside and you'll see the large deli counter where you order sandwiches, burgers, fries and other foods. The joint is also a convenience store, of sorts, with a wall full of refrigerated beverages, aisles of chips, candy, and lots of Mexican snacks. There's also a little corner of the store with goods like laundry detergent and other necessities. The hustle here is unmatched. The fellows behind the counter were flying all over the kitchen to fulfill the orders. I visited around noon on a weekday, which seemed to be a busy time because there were lots of people from all walks of life here, either waiting to order or waiting for their orders. The guys behind the counter were unflappable and took orders and made sandwiches at a speedy pace. Even if there's a line, you won't wait long for your food.

Service was very good with only a slight wait due to a small line. You order, they start making your order and you pay. A few minutes later the have everything ready and bagged up. I got a chopped cheese, it does reminded me of a sloppy Joe, and my only complaint was I wanted more lettuce and tomato. Richelle got the east coast roast beef and cheddar. She loved it and it had plenty of lettuce and tomato. Fries are good, and the give them a sprinkle of seasoning too. Plenty of cans of pop to choose, but would like to see a few diet pop options added. We will definitely come back, and I ask for plenty of toppings.
