Beautifully decorated for Christmas and this place is sooo my vibe! I've been waiting patiently since I knew I wanted to go to this restaurant this week as a part of our family activities leading up to Christmas. It was perfect for it. We stopped in for breakfast around 9am on a Tuesday and it was just us and one other table. I opted for the Old English breakfast, which was pretty good. Normally I can't finish my plate but I ate the whole thing! The baked beans weren't traditional Heinz beans, they were sweet and bacon-y and so good. Probably my favorite part which is a weird thing to say about breakfast, but it's true. My mom and brother enjoyed their food as well. They both also tried the hot chocolate which they said was like having dessert before their breakfast. Sounds like their menu is slightly outdated but they are working on updating them. We tried to order the chouxnut appetizer but our server said they no longer have those or the quiche. We opted for the mini muffins instead which were very mini. But they were homemade and pretty delicious. I don't know that I'd get them again since they were so tiny for $8, but they have plenty of other appetizers to choose from instead. Absolutely beautifully decorated for Christmas. We each had our own tea to drink. I can't remember what we all had but mine was a blend with hibiscus and it was very good. The tea was piping hot. Food we started with the biscuit appetizer. It was great. Warm biscuits with apple butter , butter , spicy honey and hot jam. I go the breaded chicken sand without the bread and a side of garlic sour cream potatoes. It was great. Husband got the chicken sand with Mac and Cheese and had zero complaints. One friend got the chicken sandwich with fries. And other got the tenderloin with fries. Both zero complaints. We decided to try dessert. One piece of chocolate cake and one serving of banana fosters tiramisu. The Chocolate cake was a huge piece. We all said it was just a little bit dry but good. The bananas foster tiramisu was just bad. All 4 of us tasted it and none of us liked it. Service was great and the restaurant was just beautiful. Our server was so friendly and very helpful with suggestions when we couldn't decide what to order! The menu has something for everyone! We shared the crab Rangoon dip with wontons appetizer and it was amazing! I had the smash burger and my friend had the fried green tomato sandwich and would both couldn't stop eating and raving about our meal and don't get me started about the French fries! This location was absolutely stunning with wonderful service. The classical musical added the perfect touch and it was so relaxing with the dark exterior but still felt beautiful and at home. The wallpaper was stunning with the bright colored birds that were aesthetically pleasing surrounded by the tea sets. Was told they were whiskey flavored without the whiskey. The biscuits were delicious with 4 different selections for from butter, honey, spices jam or apple butter. Started with the bacon dressing salad added goat cheese and it was phenomenal!!!! The chicken sandwich with hot honey was cooked perfectly, only complaint if the parlor fries needed garlic or ranch for dipping would have be great!!! This was one of the best tea experiences I have ever had. First of all this place is absolutely gorgeous! I told my friend I felt like we were on vacation. The staff were incredibly friendly and willing to answer any questions we had about the decor or the food. My friend and I decided to share the Victorian Tea experience. We shared the Mango tea, which was delicious. The tea set it was served in was beautiful. The food arrived on a 3 tier tea stand. All of the food looked amazing and was arranged beautifully . Sweet little spot next to my favorite antique shop. Love the decor- which is extra amped up for Xmas, so I highly recommend getting there during this season. It's a small menu, but most dishes are substantial. I like the fried green tomatoes sandwich- though I wish the bread was a smidge thinner or more tomatoes on the Sammy. Quite a few desserts. If the place is packed, service can be slow. And I think they have only one credit card machine. Best to not be in a hurry. Def want to come back for the tea service sometime. The most modern approach to afternoon tea I've seen. We had a nice time visiting The Parlor PS! We went for the full Victorian Tea Experience, with a tray of tea accoutrement (chocolate, caramel, Reddi-wip, sugar, milk) and a 3-tiered platter that fed the 3 of us easily. I was shocked at the items; crab dip and wontons, truffle fries (worth the upgrade!), and chicken salad on a croissant. My husband and I stopped in for lunch. Even though the road was under construction, we still found the location easy to get to. Upon entering, we were greeted promptly by Jasmine whose smile could light up a room. The decor was stunning. Our server Brenda was awesome. She made suggestions as if they were her very own recipes. The food for the "high tea" was all very tasty. The presentation made for a special meal and dining experience. Lol We ask should we order individual orders because we were hungry, or would we have enough with the high tea for two hungry ladies? We were there for our first adventure after seeing the Where's Sherman segment on the Saturday before Christmas. The decor caught my eye as a festive lunch spot for our annual friend Christmas outing. When we arrived the wait was 20 min and quickly turned to 45 for those in shortly after. I imagine several shared my same idea. I would like to go again on a normal day for another experience. While everything was beautiful and tasty I do see some room for improvement as this establishment grows(HOPEFULLY!) Serving utensils needs to be provided with the serving carousel tree of food, along with a change of plates to go from sandwich to dessert. The tea was not overly warn so the tray of chocolate, caramel, sugar cubes do not truly melt. The cinnamon and grater is a very cute touch! I am not saying anything negative by any means just fine tuning adjustments to grow and thrive. Bottom line is my friend and I had a lovely experience! Expecting to hit my friend's favorite brew pub, we were confronted with a wait that was too long. Without hesitation, he headed a short distance to this restaurant. There were many great things, but it just was not a place that appealed to me. That is why I gave it four stars. I shall explain. Victorian decor is not typically something I relish in, but was not going to walk out. Perhaps if my friend were female, I would find the setting more romantic that two dudes who just walked out of a brew pub. Without alcohol and a great selection of teas, it was another, "OK, I'll play along." Again, remember my frame of mind. French Onion soup is one of my favorites and this one had nice thick cheese and rich broth. But it was too salty, even for this type of dish. Crab cakes are another of my favorites and these were very good, even though they were served flat like pancakes and not the traditional shape. Again, these were too salty. Our server did say that next time I should order them less seasoned. Never hearing of Banana Tiramisu, I went for it and it worked. I was surprised, and the coffee accompanied it nicely. My friend;s serving of Carrot Cake was the biggest EVER, Four layers in all, it must have been cut from a cake at least 12" high and he must have gotten 1/6 of the entire cake. It was enough for a party of three and most of it went home with him for later in the week. Our server was very helpful and kind. From the menu, I saw prices that were not inflated for the ambiance. The food was very good. We had the shared biscuits, tenderloin, side salad and fried okra. All was delicious and true to Hoosier/southern style. They do not serve any alcohol by choice including wine which is unfortunate as a nice wine selection would really set this place apart. They do have an extensive mock-tail menu which I think is unnecessary and a bit confusing. Regardless, I plan to go back and look forward to trying their tea time menu. read more

My husband and I came to visit The Parlor from Greencastle and Paul and his wife are just amazing people. This is now the second time we have come and the experience continues to impress. His staff welcomed us at the door, the tea we had was absolutely amazing highly recommend trying it. We then had the crab dip which was the star of the show. If you want and elevated experience but a small town vibe this is the place to go. You can tell the owners deeply care bout every detail and every person that comes through the door. We went for High Tea a couple of days ago. it was good. Great service from the only server we saw for about 4 tables. She was the only server the first time we went for lunch as well. I have had High Tea many times locally and one time in London. While I don't expect the same level as in London, I do have a few suggestions for them to improve their service. We had one large croissant with chicken salad for four people to share. We also had crab dip and wonton chips, ladyfingers with cheesecake dip and cookies. The cookies were ok but they gave us 3 macarons, one thumbprint jelly cookie and two small wafer cookies. Not enough to share equally. I suggest they change the croissant sandwich to four small sandwiches or 4 smaller croissants with chicken salad so there is no need to cut it into 4 pieces. The cookies need to be more equal too. There was a good variety of cookies though. There was a several flavored teas to choose from and the service itself was very nice, with cream, sugar, chocolate wafers and a. cinnamon stick with a small grater included. Elegant cups, saucers and stirring spoons were very nice. My only suggestions would be to add plain black tea to the menu and to allow two choices of tea Instead of one. We very much enjoyed our visits here and plan to return. I hope lots of people go so it will stay in business. It is a nice addition to the town of Mooresville. read more

My wife and I visited on a Thursday for a date night. We were looking forward to it considering the positive reviews on Yelp. Let's start with the positive side. The decorations and atmosphere was great. Beautifully done. Our server was friendly and attentive. 5/5 The food is the negative. Given the amount of positive reviews, I was shocked and disappointed with what was served especially given the price point. The wonton dip was a 3/5. The portion was generous, but the dip was hot in one section and lukewarm in other sections. The shrimp dinner was a 2/5. This dish was $30 and you get eight medium shrimp and two sides. The shrimp were served cold. Maybe this was due to the timing of the food preparation since we ordered fried food. In my opinion this meal was not worth $30, maybe $20. The chicken fried pork chop was a 1/5. Based on the menu description, I had great hope for it especially since our server recommended it. The food was hot so I know they fried it fresh. The problem was the lack of seasoning in the pork chop and the black pepper gravy sauce. It lacked salt and pepper. I had to add additional pepper to get some flavor. The worst part was the brown gravy. It was thick and flavorless. I did not finish my meal. The french fries (5/5). It is a popular side and I can understand why. Pipping hot from the fryer and full of flavor. The fried okra (5/5). Delicious and full of flavor. A must get if you like okra. The mac and cheese (1/5). The noodles were cooked perfectly, but the problem is the cheese sauce. It lacked cheese flavor and seasoning. It was bland. Moreover, the sauce appeared to be thicken with flour or cornstarch because you can see graininess in the sauce. Did not finish this side. Overall, the final bill after tip was +$90 and I definitely do not feel this was worth it. I am hoping this was an off night and others have a better experience. read more

First off, the response to my post from the business was top notch. Honest and professional. Last night, we gave Parlor PS a third try. They did NOT disappoint. Biscuits were exactly as they should be...warm, flaky, delicious. Meatloaf was perfect...so large of a serving we took two pieces home. And the chocolate cake was delicious. Two things stuck out: 1) they get busy around 6:30 pm and although service does slow (as expected) it is obvious they are adjusting and the additional crowd did not really effect the experience which was great! 2) they were very communicative about the wait, the food, the dessert...lots of status updates and check ins. It really helped everyone waiting for a table and everyone eating remain pleasant and enjoyable. We recently went to The Parlor PS for breakfast. When you walk in you feel like you stepped back in time to a Victorian era. Festive decor, attention to detail, neat photos, beautiful chandeliers. We were greeted by our excellent server Jasmine C and seated quickly. We had coffee and specialty tea, an appetizer of biscuits with various toppings, including their wonderful homemade apple butter, and our favorite, Pepper Peach Jelly!! Extremely good tastes. My husband had eggs, sausage and potatoes. I had the cheese grits with shrimp. Both dishes were very good, delivered quickly. And more than enough. We had a wonderful breakfast, a server who went out of her way, and excellent food. We had really great time. We are already planning to go back for a lunch or dinner soon.
