It was fun to see how the restaurant ended and the store began. It was such a great vibe showcasing all things local to the area including jams, pickles, and sauces! Now to the food! Definitely recommend their jalapeño sausage and BBQ sauce. The two of these together bring an amazing heat and sweetness that just makes your taste buds sing! I also really enjoyed their green beans that were well seasoned and not overly salty! The staff was also very nice as well! Remember to grab some pickles and onions from their topping buffet as you eat in or get to go!

My son absolutely loved his biscuits and gravy and cleaned his plate, and the breakfast sandwich I ordered was delicious. The food came out quickly, the prices were very reasonable, and everything tasted fresh and comforting. Honestly wish we could've stayed long enough to try lunch too! The customer service was great with the staff on the line taking the time to record our order and be patient with us asking questions. I got the shrimp and grits and my mom the gumbo. Also, the bingets came recommended, so we ordered those as well. Arriving at Orleans is just like walking in downtown New Orleans, the bright colors and historical touches transports you there! Upon stepping in you receive a warm welcome from the staff. To go orders are picked up at the other side of their bar. Since I ordered an entree I also got a trip to the salad bar, so I got a chance to check out their spacious restaurant and bar--again a nice tribute to NO! My shrimp and grits were good, but a little too cheesy and runny. Also, I wish that they would have come in a bowl versus a box. My mom mentioned her gumbo was a little salty, but had some good flavor to it. The bingets also were delicious and made a great little snack! The next time I am in town I will come back and eat it.

In my recent trips to Ruston, I've hit Party Fowl for both dinner and brunch…read more The staff is friendly, the room has a lively sports-bar vibe, and overall it fills a lane Ruston needs. The concept is Nashville hot chicken, but go in knowing this ain't Hattie B's. The food is good, but a lot of it has that chain/Sysco-ingredient feel. Nothing is bad; nothing feels overly inspired either. The surprise star for me? The fried livers. Easily my favorite thing I've had there. And a word of advice on the chicken: go at least Medium if you actually want flavor. Regular is bland. Mild is, well...also bland. Medium is where things finally start waking up. The drinks, on the other hand, are great. One Sunday we learned there was no alcohol before noon. Apparently that's the rule in Ruston. The table next to us found out there would be no Bloody Marys until noon and promptly left. I admired their commitment. If I'm breaking it down: Food: 3.5 Drinks: 4.0 Hospitality: 4.5 I'm landing at four stars overall. Ruston isn't exactly overflowing with dining options, so Party Fowl feels like a needed spot in this quaint little town. Good drinks, friendly people, plenty of TVs, and if you order your chicken hot enough, a pretty good meal too.
