We were looking for a local place for lunch while driving across I-20 in Louisiana and found Sharon's Cafe on Yelp. All the reviews were good and I found a current menu on facebook so we headed there. We were greeted when we walked in, asked if we were dining in and told to seat ourselves. There was a nice crowd but plenty of tables. Almost as soon as we sat down our waitress took our drink order. The menu was full of choices but I picked the plate lunch, fried catfish and three sides and a drink. My spouse got a large chief salad. The food came out quickly and the fish and fries were piping hot. The portions were very generous too. We both cleaned our plates and even though the desserts looked delicious I didn't have room for another bite. They're only open for breakfast and lunch so get there before 2 pm. It was obvious many locals know about Sharon's because there was a steady flow of people coming in for takeout orders. Sharon's cafe is in Acadia between Ruston and Shreveport. Take a day trip and go by for delicious and inexpensive food. read more

Excellent place , clean , good service and food was great , had shrimp and fish combo with slaw and pinto soup, it right off interstate and blows the fast food joints away . Fish and shrimp cooked perfectly, but the pinto beans was the star here tasted like my moms . If your traveling from Shreveport on 20 to Monroe you gotta try this place , job well done guys read more

We were on the hunt for breakfast and came upon Sharon's Cafe. Well breakfast stops at 10:30 and we were 10 minutes late so I got a double cheeseburger and boy was is good. The fries were really good too. Like most places i have visited while here Louisiana, everyone at Sharon's were so polite and friendly. This is with out a doubt a diamond in the ruff. read more

Good food and good prices. Chicken strips were hand battered & fried perfect. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger and it was good as well.

Thanks, Yelp! Driving west on I-20 at lunch time and found this spot on Yelp. Goodness!! A full parking lot is always a good sign! We went in and took a seat ~ menus on the table, specials on chalk board and white boards. Hubs ordered the huge fried pork loin sandwich. I went with the comfort food chicken and dumplings. Lunch crowd consisted of obvious regulars, older couples, and a healthy dose of workers. Two guys in suits came in to make the mix of "every body" perfect. A consistent line of people ordering takeout. All were welcomed with the same enthusiastic kindness. Waitstaff was BUSY, but caught every need and met it. Food was served hot and scrumptious. At one point, a waitress came around the room and gifted everyone with a square of moist, delicious cake! (Mmmmm, cake!) I'm SO glad we stopped here! Oh my goodness this place is a hidden gem in the of Arcadia. This Mom/Pop store is owned by a wonderful family who know how to cook! Home cookin with a soul food flare had my taste buds screaming for more. I had the beef tips, Mac & cheese, Lima beans and hot water bread (got two and still sad I didn't eat both!). The food brings you back to Sunday dinner at Grandmas and you realize you are smiling the whole time. Every time I've eaten there I have loved the food. The service was great and the staff polite. The atmosphere was nice; like a down home eatery with down home food. What a happy chance to stop by this unassuming cafe! Went by on the way to a golf course and noticed the full parking lot ,checked yelp and saw a couple good reviews. Thank you yelp reviewers! An incredible lunch special, we had catfish and shrimp, each came with salad,hush puppies, fries,pinto beans, drinks and a slice of homemade cake, under 9 dollars a piece!!!! I wish they were open later or on the weekends because I rarely ever get to go because of my work schedule, but the rare occasion I do have some free time I always come here! Tired interior but good food and friendly service. Had the Fried Pork Loin Sandwich which was really down home comfort good, perfectly fried, fresh lettuce and tomato, not slathered in condiments. Forget the side of fries which you have to order separately anyway. They are just the standard freezer fries that get baked. Husband had an actual fried pork loin dinner with turnip greens and black eyed peas, both of which he said were well cooked and seasoned. There were some minor missteps in the service but quickly remedied and very friendly. A+ for making people feel welcomed. All in all, 3 of us for lunch ran a little under less than $10 per person before tip- great value for the price point. read more
