He set up an appointment and gave me a brief rundown of what to expect. I received a reminder call the day before the appointment as well as another when the serviceman was on his way. I received impeccable service. The gentlemen that showed up were very cordial and left the fireplace and its surroundings spotless. You'd never know they were there except for the fact that my family room fireplace now works like new and the logs that were originally improperly placed are now placed correctly. The price of the valve was very fair and the service visit overall was very reasonably priced. This speaks volumes to the honesty and integrity of this local business. Smokey's came out to install distribution fan in my pellet stove about a year and a half ago. hay did a good job BUT installed a after market fan and not a OEM one that is much cheaper and charged me list price for a OEM. We went to Smokeys looking to purchase a pellet stove. We found one we were interested in and we were told the installation would be $2,150.00. We purchased a pellet stove at Orley's in Medford. Installation is $1400.81. It pays to shop. Orley's sent a person out to see where the stove was to be placed. Smokeys did not bother to do so. read more

My wife and I were beyond pleased with the prompt, professional service Smokey's provided us! We had purchased a home in the Fall of 2018, but when we started to use our fireplace during winter, it wasn't fully coming on. We contacted our home inspector who suggested we contact Smokey's. While they were in their busy season, they were honest it may take a few weeks before they could get out to see us, which was fair and understandable. Once they scheduled an appointment, they were right on time, and gave us fair and honest estimate of what needed to be done. Once they returned a week later for the service/repair, again, they were right on time and worked efficiently to make the repair, and go over what was wrong and options we could chose from about how we wanted our stove to work and operate. We ended up having a bad valve that was not working due to age, and we had them replace that. Also, our switch for our fireplace was bad, so they suggested a remote switch with a built in thermostat. This was cheaper than hiring an electrician to make the switch repair. Utilizing this remote with thermostat has been great and our fireplace works like a champ with great heating! Dean, Danny, and the installation team at Smokey's are all excellent. My experience with Smokey's was very positive and my fiancé and I are stoked (pun intended) on our wood stove. Dean and Danny were clear and easy to communicate with. They were quick with phone and e-mail replies. Dean was very honest about our existing pipe when he came out for a quote. Another installation company told us we needed to have our pipes entirely replaced, costing almost $4k, which was completely bogus. I think this was a scam with the stove sales company (prominently seen on rt 62). Dean noted they were in perfect condition and did not need replacement. I found the quote for the install to be very reasonable. Additionally, I did search around for the listed parts we needed and found their prices on par with what I could have sourced myself. We had an appointment with Smokey's for a stove cleaning on our 1 story home and our daughters 2 story home. Not only were the two men a few minutes early, which was a pleasant surprise, they called ahead to let us know they were within 10 minutes of our homes. These two gentlemen introduced themselves, Dillon and Ian, which we in future will request for our yearly chimney sweep cleaning. They went to work and were courteous, extremely respectful of the home and very hardworking. Did a Great job on both chimneys, especially the two story with a crazy pitched roof. We used Smoky's years ago. Price was high but we needed the install thought we would try them out. Install was ok but they forgot some items and the stove warped and did not work well after a year. My experience shows Diamond's stoves are half price and I think better after the warp. Recently I thought to give them another chance. This time the bid was $ 1000 more than another highly qualified company. I went over a few issues with Shaun at Smoky's and he just was not hearing my side at all. I order installs on appx 3 stoves a year. Thanks to this last fail at Smoky's I did find a great local licensed seller/ installer. ( Merlin / Hugo area). I rarely post reviews and dislike negative one. But when the company does not listen whatsoever to the customer what is left to do? read more

With the new laws in Oregon regarding wood stove certification it is important to align yourself that will walk you through the process and be there for you when you need them. When I think about the amount of time and money I have wasted trying to do business with smokey's stoves it makes me want to contact a lawyer. They came out to "clean my chimney", but when they left it did not work. Smoke would not go up because they jammed so much creosote into the top that it was blocked. When I called smokeys to get some help (they claim that they will come back if they mess it up the first time...okay, wtf?) Smokeys would not even call me back, let alone give me a refund. I had to call someone else to come out and clean my chimney, of course at full price. I have documentation including cell phone records showing how many times I tried to contact them. So, we called back to see if it was a wrong quote, he said the price was for commercial chimney ! But we have talked exactly the same style and dual lined chimney ,,,, they charge way too much!
