I have to give my personal experience as a 2. The 2 is for how clean the place is, immaculate! And also how nice the lady was who served myself and husband. She was personable, very nice, a ready beautiful smile and seemed eager to help us a good dining experience. The rest of our lunch was not anything to write home about. To be fair, we did come in after lunchtime, around 1:30. There were no other customers around, which was pretty expected given the time and it being a weekday. We hadn't eaten that day and had been shopping and doing errands so we worked up quite the appetite and decided to have the dinners opposed to the sandwiches offered. I ordered the pulled pork, not spicy, as I told the lady that my tongue was a sissy when it came to spice. She laughed at that and assured me she would not put any 'spicy' pulled pork on mine. I also ordered the BBQ beans and potato salad. My husband ordered the brisket dinner with fries and BBQ beans. When she brought out the boats of food to us, I thought I may have ordered wrong. The servings of meat were very small, barely enough to make a sandwich with the toast that was served with the 'dinner'. My husband did not fare any better. We were told that these were 'dinner' portions. I truly do not know what we paid $5.00 extra dollars a plate for. The meals with 2 drinks came up a little over $45.00! The BBQ sauce was a bit too vinegary for my taste, my husband agreed. The fries were very good (fries were extra if you ordered them as a side). The potato salad was very good as well. Also there was a pretty big chunk of pork that was spicy to me. I am sure it was an oversight but it took up most of the little bit of meat in the boat. I ate the toast and the potato salad. My husband ate his fries. The BBQ beans, of course, had the same kind of sauce in it that the meat had, again, not to my liking. I have a favorite BBQ place in OKC, S. OKC, Moore and Norman but will keep looking for one in Del city. It was quite a disappointment as we were hungry, had had a great day, up to that moment, and paid $45.00 for fries, potato salad, Coke but we did get a beautiful smile. read more

If you are in Oklahoma City and are looking for some good Barbecue give Smokey Ray's a try. This is a quiet and quaint hole in the wall, but their food speaks for itself. You will definitely get your bang for your buck. They give you lots of food for a great price. I especially loved their sausages. The hot link is hot for real! Be ready for it to bite you back. The food was fresh, hot and moist. Not some fake BBQ with liquid smoke. This is the real deal! You can smell that smoker going when you pull up. I didn't expect this place to wow me, but it did. BBQ Truck in Del City is a quick stop n go for average bbq. The winner is the baked beans!! They are worth stopping for alone! They have onions and alittle meat in them and are always sooo good. I usually eat them first. I am a sliced beef fan so since they do not serve sliced ,chopped is just ok, alittle dry. They have hot links & polish. I still definitely need to give the chicken a try. The neg is the ribs, for some reason I do not care for them at all. I have been so spoiled from other places! Potato salad is ok. Sauce is thick but just not the sweet flavor that I enjoy. Thank goodness we keep Albert's BBQ sauce in frig. I'm definitely a sauce person! Heard they may be moving to a actual building to open a place. read more

Amazing BBQ food truck in Del City. The ladies were very friendly and helpful. I ordered a smoked chicken breast with potato salad and a Coke. My son had a chopped beef sandwich and beans and my husband had a chopped beef sandwich and hot link. My chicken breast was huge, tender and juicy! The best smoked chicken breast that I've ever had! I can't wait to go back and order it again! My hubby and son loved their sandwiches too. Next time they are going to try a slab of ribs but I'm definitely going to order the chicken breast again. So Smokey Ray's has finally gone to a brick and mortar building. I don't know the address but they are on SE 29th St. in Del City. Next door to where Gregory's Sporting Goods was at. Well enough of that. The ribs are fall off the bone tender, good smoke and tasty. No need for BBQ sauce with them, although the mild sauce is delicious. Also got a smoked polish sausage, best polish I have found lately at BBQ restaurants. Wife wanted fried okra and I thought it was pricey at $3.75 but when I got it they were in a dinner size clamshell plate, full, good deal. Also got the "famous" baked beans and they should be famous. The beans are sweet with bell pepper, onion and brisket in them. Very good beans. When wife said she wanted a polish sausage from Smokey Ray's my first though was YEA, I get baked beans. Very good, nice clean facility and the service is great. Ray's granddaughter waited on me and she is in culinary school to be a pastry chef and they now have pie. This is a food truck in a gas station parking lot in Del City. I will give you my quick run down as I don't really think much more is needed. No sliced brisket - Strike one and two. Ordered the ribs and the were okay. The taste was good, got enough smoke on them but were not finished cooking as the meat did not pull off the bone. It was a little tougher to get the meat off the bone than it should be. I don't want it to fall of the bone, as that is a sign of over cooking. I know I am picky when it comes to meats. Last but not least the sauce taste like it came from a bottle of K.C. Masterpiece. I will just keep on driving the next time I am in the area. read more

Great BBQ. Started out on a truck and recently opened the restaurant. First off, when you enter it is very clean and nicely laid out. Very nice menu, and fairly priced. Sauce has a great flavor and no matter what meat you order, get some of the beans. I think the baked beans are some of the best I have ever tasted. Owner is a nice guy and makes sure your meal is everything you expected. One of the better BBQ places around in my opinion and I have tried most. read more

I attended a fundraising event at OU involving several food trucks, once of which was Smokey Ray's. I'm glad Ray was in attendance, because it was my favorite truck of the 4 we tried. I was with a couple of buddies, and we tried: ribs, the pulled pork sandwich, the hot link, and the polish sausage. The hot link and polish were wrapped in foil and sort of smashed onto regular hot dog buns. I'll be honest, neither looked great when we unfolded the foil. Both links are large, much larger than the buns. So, I would recommend getting a different bread vessel. But, both links were fantastic. They were very smokey, and the hot link had a lot of heat. It wasn't too overwhelming, but you certainly didn't think you were eating a regular hot dog. Both the polish and hot link had a nice color to them, and a nice snap when you bit into them. Importantly, it was easy to bite into them. I have found with some sausages that the casing it too thick and/or tough, making it difficult to eat. This was not the case with Ray's. The ribs had a wonderful color and a nice rub. Very smokey, I found the taste of smoke to be forward in every meat we tried. The ribs had too much of a "tug" to get them off the bone. This was disappointing, and one of the minor things that prevents me from giving Ray's 5 stars. The ribs had good flavor, but I think they needed to be smoked a little slower. If they had some more tenderness to them, they'd really be something. The pulled pork sandwich was large and served on a standard bun. It was advertised as "spicy," so given the heat level on the hot link I was expecting to be blown away. I was not. I didn't get any heat at all. Maybe we had a batch that just didn't get seasoned properly, but I definitely wouldn't call this hot. That said, it was moist and had some small pieces of bark mixed throughout, which I like. It was a good sandwich, just disappointing in the spiciness department, which was contrary to how it was advertised. The sauce was EXCELLENT. Thick, smokey, very flavorful, and the hot was hot. Loved the sauce. I wouldn't drive to Del City to eat Smokey Ray's, but if I see them out and about again I certainly would return. read more
