I have not found the food to be terribly consistent here. Sometimes the wings are great. Sometimes they're smaller and not as good. Sometimes the rub they use is perfect and other times too spicy! They do have great barbecue nachos but was really disappointed last night with my carry out, as there was melted cheese, but none of the queso cheese sauce. I've been here 4 times since it opened on August 8, 2022 and every time I've been impressed. We came to their Grand Opening event and had a blast! No joke, it was all the food you could eat- from the entire menu. Plus- all the booze you could drink too. All for FREE! Myself and my 6 kids were on the list for the event and we had an awesome time. The place is spacious, clean and all the employees I've encountered have been friendly and personable! Dude- Elle and Jasmine, the bartenders ROCK! They are so amazing. They know how to pour a beer properly and make a damn good drink! Let's talk food. Because I've had everything on their menu. That's no exaggeration! Wings, both bone-in and boneless. Excellent! And huge. No anorexic or chicken nuggets here. Giant wings with tons of meat. Jumbo wings as stated on the menu and they live up to their name. Korean pork belly. This was a treat! Flash fried crispy with Korean BBQ sauce. I was in Heaven! I don't eat this at restaurants because places don't seem to get it right. But it was all kinda of right here. Pretzel bones are soft pretzel sticks but what sends staple appetizer over the top is their beer cheese. Damn good! Brisket and ribs. Wow! To say I was impressed is an understatement. Brisket was juicy and tender from the proper rendering of the fat. So much flavor! Ribs, meaty and big. Again- done right! Sides of slaw, baked beans, natural cut fries with the skin still on and potato wedges. Perfect pairing for all the good BBQ and smoked meats. Wedges and fries were out favorite. Filet mignon medallions tender and delicious, finished with a red wine sauce. The kids and I ate so much of this we felt like kings and queens. Gooood! We seriously ate so much. And not just meat. The grilled mini sweet peppers and onions slices are equally as good. Not over done and with with enough char and smoke to give them a sweetness that made us want more. And more we got. A few plates full! And now a hands down favorite- the pulled pork sandwiches!! I literally could have eaten plates and plates of this. Oh wait- we all did!! Ridiculously awesome! Place looks super clean, decent menu with a lot of bbq options. Our server was great, however the food not so much, the Mac and cheese is a $5 upgrade so I was expecting some AMAZING Mac and cheese, however it was SO dry and gross, it was like mac and cheese that had been sitting in a fridge for a week, then re heated with a few shreds of cheese on top. Awful, the pulled chicken was literally so chewy I had to spit it out, the sausage was decent.. I should have got ribs, those looked better at the table across from us. My son and I were delighted that someone took over the failed TGIF and periodically saw the hard effort and money to convert this place into Smokey Bones... The investment is being questioned. Our visit was on 1-15-23 with great anticipation to try out their Ribs. St. Louis ribs full rack The server Breanna and the rest of the staff are great and are doing the best they can to please the customers. However, what has happen here is - great amount of investment and time has been made to convert this building and hire good staff but, the key element which is a big failure is whom ever is in the back of that kitchen preparing these RIBS should admit that they are going to ruin this business fast. Owner needs to get in that kitchen fast and rid any left over from last night ribs and have only fresh prepared ribs that are tender and you get a sense that your wait was worth it and can match other rib establishment any time. This is not the case at this time. Again, Breanna and the rest of the girls are trying their best to please the customer but, it all comes down to quality - quality food and these ribs that were served to us last night - should never have reached out table. I wanted to send them back - But, I was with my son and felt that another order would end up the same - So my remarks are noted. I was extremely disappointed. You need to step up and find a better cook that knows better to not ruin your business especially if it just opened up !! The blame here is the cook and the night manager overseeing this stuff leave the kitchen - He / she must take the blame to allow this to even hit the tables of YOUR customers. This place has sat empty for quite a while. It used to be a THIFridays that I frequented often when I got out of work. I wasn't really sure what to think when I saw it was going to be BBQ joint. I mean, we have so many around here. But I also wanted to check it out. We had a water main break and a lot of restaurants and bars were closed due to the boil water alert. When we pulled up I was nervous about being able to get in. There were cars parked in the target lot... That's how busy they were. People were waiting outside. But we were lucky. We got the last two seats at the bar. It was weird to see how different it looked from being Fridays. The raised bar was gone. They really did a lot of renovations to make it look unique. We ordered our drinks and looked over the menu. I wanted the brisket but, unfortunately, they were out. We got the last batch of baby back ribs too. They ran out of those. The food was good. It didn't totally wow me. But it was definitely good. The sweet wings were perfect. The staff was very kind as well. After debate on what bbq restaurant to go to, we landed up here! Let me just start with the fact that it was a 2 hour ordeal.... And it wasn't just for the wait to be seated. We went to the bar to order a drink and my wine glass was covered in lipstick. I asked for a new drink and it took 10+ minutes because they had no wine glasses. I won't complain about the food... but it took forever (eating salad and soup with our main course, when requested before meal) and we had to eat with plastic utensils, because like the wine glasses, they were out of clean silverware. As requested I emailed and received a phone call a few days later. The phone call wasn't productive as the manager suggested that I wasn't using their website correctly. Which is complete nonsense -- I tried repeatedly to use their mobile site to place my order with no success. I've been working on - including developing and creating website for years... if I had made a mistake, I would've acknowledged and corrected it. Talking down to a customer, as I was during this phone call, isn't good customer service.... which means Smoke Bones gets 1 star. This place just opened last week and I amazed at how well the place is running. Not only did they just open but they got slapped with the boil water advisory and still managed to stay open unlike a lot of other restaurants. Our first time going we Had Tasha and she was the most the most amazing sever me and my boyfriend have ever had. With it being our first time she told us everything about the menu and her favorites. Yes, there was a wait but because of the newness and the amazing reputation it is expected!(I had visited a location in Florida several times and was so excited about your location close by) Our server, Teiyania B. was outstanding! Although, she was very busy, she was attentive! Yes, the bar was SLOW, and getting refills, butter and etc. was expected, since there were only 2 bussers! Ordered a 2 meat plate for myself. "Smoked" chicken wings, and pulled pork. With baked beans and potatoe wedges. My wife ordered 2 meat plate, pulled pork, and jalapeno with cheddar sausage. The sides chosen were corn and potatoe wedges. Waited 40 minutes on a what seemed not busy day for the resturant. Baked beans were Luke warm, corn was OK, chicken wings had no smoke flavor. Sausage was obviously precooked and warmed up (barely). The pulled pork was piled on top of the garlic bread, so the bread was a greasy mush. Not sure I can trust ribs or brisket, if beans, garlic bread, pulled pork, or chicken wings are not done satisfying. Customer service at this restaurant is horrible. I have been a few times giving them the benefit of the doubt, hoping that an experience was a one off and no such luck. Food tastes good but not worth the hassle. The staff is rude, slow and unenthusiastic. Management makes you feel like it's your fault if you have a bad experience. One of a few previous trips: Attached is a picture of my $18 nutty chicken strawberry salad that I got to go. Yes it really was put in a container with 2 empty portions and 1/4 of the main part empty. Basically a chicken breast with 10 pieces of lettuce and 1 strawberry cut up. No cheese, no cranberries. Response from the manager was that I got what I ordered and that it was right. Never ordered that again. Todays experience: I placed an order online and used a $10 reward I had (for previously spending $100). The order went through. I got a confirmation email that my order would be ready in 40min, my credit card was charged, and the reward was removed from my account. I get to the restaurant on time. The server proceeds to tell me that they didn't make my order because I wasn't supposed to use that coupon. The manager informs me that I should have known better that the coupon isn't good on a rib fest. He informs me that they will make it if I reorder at full price losing my reward. Of course, I would have to wait. I fail to see how it's my fault that their own Smokeybones.com website allowed me to use a reward that I apparently wasn't supposed to. And to top it off they didn't even bother to call me to tell me it was being canceled in the 35 min after the order went through and I was charged. Instead I had to drive all the way there to be blamed, pay for the meal that got canceled where the refund will take a week and not get any food. This is the level of service you can expect when you go there. Always the customers fault. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Review not based on food, since we didn't even get to try it. I called ahead and was told there was no wait (turns out was a lie) still had them take my name down since we were a party of 7. Once we got there I checked in and was told it would be "around 30 minutes" so we waited. Around 25 minutes the kids were getting crazy so I went back to check in on time, assuming it was going to be soon, to then be told it was going to be at least an hour and a half before we would even got sat?!? So we left without even getting to sit at a table. What's the point of call a head seating and being told there is no wait when once you arrive you're told we were 10th in line? It seemed to be a very common issue last night, we seen countless groups come in after being told there was no wait on the phone to get there and find out it was really over an hour wait. Figure out y'all's service because that was some of the worst we have witnessed in years. At least have them make an announcement the wait time keeps going up instead of letting people just sit in the front without a clue. My first time at smokey bones was a 10/10, it me & two other people that's an average table table size. The food was good, the plates was clean drinks not too much ice lol ( if that matters to you ) . The second time around going to the restaurant can really tell if the first time was a fluke or not but with that being said I went with an larger party (11). The food wasn't as good as the first time I probably feel like that because they had a huge deal going (don't really know if that make sense), drinks wasn't as cold as last time but they got the food out in fairly manner (really quick). Came out uncut, no knife, lukewarm and couldnt eat half of it because once I got the knife the crossbones prevented me from cutting it. So had to take it to go so I can have a better knife at home. The service was non existent no drink refills and out server never checked back. Asked the hostess for a knife and she said ask your server, so I said well I can't find her and she begrudgingly brought me a knife. Me and a friend were in Smokey Bones on 5/16/23 around 8 PM. Not very many people in the place, less than 15 customers. Yet the service was VERY SLOW. We had to continually wait on our drinks.
