Came here last week and this might be the worst food I've ever had at a restaurant. Spent $75 on TWO meals, only for it to have come out of a microwave, undeniably. We ate here recently during a trip back to Greensburg. I'd say it was about 3.5-4 stars for our visit. Our server Emily, I believe that was her name, was 5 stars though. Food was good. My baby back ribs were cooked right. Full rack was too much for me though. Potato wedges were good but just a little over cooked. Wife pulled was good but a tad dry. Their excellent sauce though fixed that. Cornbread was ok, seemed like it was different than it used to be. It was real busy when we were there so it was relatively quiet except for the obnoxious people in the booth behind us. Booth was rather small. Drinks were good as well. The service was excellent, the waitress checked in on us often and made sure we had plenty to drink. We got the 6 pretzel bones. The group that came in 10-15 mins after me got there order well before me and I was at the bar. Edit (6/10/22): I reached out to them via the email link left as a response to my review and never heard back from them. I feel like the response was just a show for Yelp and was of no consequence. I ordered takeout for some wings, a salad and fries. The wings were very good. The chipotle boom boom sauce paired perfectly with the smoked flavor of the wings. The salad was a good greens mix and a decent size. Mine was missing the red onions though. Also, the salad was missing the dressing. I ordered the bacon vinaigrette, which sounded good, but ended up using the bleu cheese dressing from my wings. The fries were terrible. They were stale and not warm. Our takeout order on 9/1/2025 was missing sauces, salad dressings and one side. A phone call to the store proved more frustrating. "I didn't bag your order, but none of the items would affect the bill." I'm paraphrasing the words, but not the sentiment (or lack thereof!). We had given SB a second chance after avoiding them for a couple of years after miserable service and food post-COVID. We had a few good meals recently, although all takeout orders were at least 30 minutes late. They could learn some customer service tips from Olive Garden. When a takeout order from OG was about 20 minutes late (but accurate and delicious!), we were given a $15 gift card. Very disappointing visit. No draft beer so I ordered a coke. I heard the waitress tell people next to me, no baked potatoes. No service. I sat at the bar and waited for 15 minutes and the waitress did not come back to take my order. I left $3.00 and left. Several other patrons at the bar were tired of waiting for service. The only complaint, and it may seem petty, was the brightness of the overhead recessed lights-according to the manager there was no way to dim them because of rewiring that was done. Taking into consideration the COVID is why I'm giving 3 stars. Greeted promptly by the host upon arrival. Trying to get my 8 year old grandson situated at the table, while still standing the server was behind me asking what we would like to drink, ok points for promptly being at the table, but can we sit down first and see what's on the menu? Ordered an appetizer and my grandsons meal right away, perhaps I should shoulder the blame for his meal not coming out with the app because I didn't ask for it to, I assumed that ordering it with the app was a signal that he was to be fed first. Had to ask for side plates for the app Server was aloof and did not have a table presence, not engaging at all. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad and no lie, it had 5 little bits of chicken on it, which was overcooked and dry. My grandsons chicken tender plate was so hot i had to move his meal onto one of the spare side plates so he wouldn't inadvertently burn his fingers, you know how kids can be, ask them not to touch something and boom they touch it. My grandsons meal was good, which to me is all that matters. No manager table touch, which you would really think would be a nice touch to welcome your guests back to indoor dining, but perhaps their policies are different. In summary, do i think it was the COVID that caused these issues, perhaps, do I think I would go back based on this visit, probably not. read more

Was craving some bbq so decided to give this place a try after a long day of airports and planes. The place smells good from outside. Was able to sit at the bar right away. Poor bartender was staying on her toes the entire time doing the bar and a couple tables. She did great though making sure my water stayed full. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and fries. The meat was tender but not super smokey flavored. Plenty of meat. I tried both the Chipotle BBQ sauce and the house sauce . Both were good but the house sauce could of used a little more smoke and a little less sweetness. Chipotle sauce was nice heat and a little sweet. Yesterday we visited Smokey Bones BBQ. Our waiter was good, the atmosphere was great. Restaurant was cleaned and NOT BUSY (probably 15 people). I'm not the type of person to complain but when you order a brisket meal (1st time ordering) and receive this, something has to be said. This was completely unacceptable. The meat was like jerky. I couldn't believe that they would serve this and it was cold. When we asked for another plate. The just brought back 4 pieces of brisket (shown in the picture). The food seemed old and reheated multiple times. I ask our waiter if we can speed to the manager. The manager that came said she was the manager and was automatically defensive. She didn't give us her name but had a hair net and was working in the kitchen. I politely told her this shouldn't even be an argument because I'm not arguing with her but to take a look at the food that was served to us. She then said she was the one that cut it and it looked fine to her. At this point I felt uncomfortable and wasn't getting anywhere talking to this woman who obviously is lacking customer service skill and food safety and knowledge. Sadly my husband and I ended up getting sick. The decline in food and service quality is extremely concerning. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

The ambience of this place is like no other. It's very clean and the service is fast and efficient. Within minutes. I was greeted by my waitress. the smell of place is unreal actually overwhelming in a good way. For my order, I ordered the Korean pork belly pops an order of spicy garlic wings, and a 1/2 bbq chicken with fire roasted corn and French fries.. the Korean pork belly pops we're so good and when I mean so good that I didn't even eat all of them because I wanted to save some for later..if I had to rate them on a scale from 1-10 those pork belly pops would get a 100. The half pound barbecue chicken was tender seasoned just right as well . I tend to go to a lot of barbecue places that don't season their food properly and I was very pleased with how good they seasoned the chicken and properly proportioned the sauce on the chicken as well. The roasted corn was a must. I would recommend anyone to get this Side with their meal it's a must have. The fries were decent. They weren't the best but they weren't the worst. this place isn't somewhere you're gonna go and expect spectacular fries and that's perfectly fine They got the job done. The only reason I didn't give this place. A five star is because of the spicy garlic wings that was my only gripe my wings where as if they weren't even tossed in the sauce, there were more dry areas than areas with sauce on the wings and that was disappointing. but overall everything else was amazing. I love wings so I wish they would have been better, but anyways, if you're out in Greensburg and you want a good bite, I highly recommend this place to anyone. Nice clean establishment. Amazing service. We had a party of 10 and Jocelyn was very attentive to us. The food was average. The brisket across the board seemed over cooked. Went out here the other night for drinks and dinner with a friend and it wasn't great but it was mostly our waitress that made our experience negative. She clearly didn't want to be there and barely wanted to serve us. We felt rushed to order our drinks and food and once our food came we never saw her again until the check. At this Smokey Bones restaurant, my husband ordered dinner for takeout. Nachos - 2 stars - For our appetizer, the nachos were extremely gigantic in size. Unfortunately, the nacho chips were too hard, the cheese was sparse and was congealed and not gooey, and the pulled chicken and pork tasted bland. We ended up eating a few nacho chips and then throwing away the entire huge container. Baby-back ribs - 4 stars - The full rack of ribs was tender and had a flavorful sauce. A side of toast was included. We would definitely order the ribs again in the future. Onion rings - 4 stars - The bread on the onion rings was perfectly crispy. But nothing compares to the mushroom Swiss burger. & this is why.. so about a year ago I was DoorDashing & I left this location headed east down route 30. I hit black ice & my vehicle flipped 3 times off the embankment. Everything in my jeep was destroyed. The Smokey bones sweet potatoe fries were scattered all over my car. This place is disgusting. My girl friend just started at the Greensburg PA store. The cooks had left a 7 pound brisket in the warming oven overnight. It was turned off and unplugged at closing-and not discovered until late morning ( noonish) the next day. The GM told her to use it anyway! Sat out at room temperature all night for who knows how many hours. She said it was fine, it's like bacon misshandling meats is a common practice and reusing products, no labels, etc is the norm. I came here on a whim with my dad driving down 30. it was the greatest choice we made this weekend! i got a bacon cheeseburger and he got a pulled pork sandwich, both were amazing and came super fast super hot and fresh. never had mich ultra on draft until today and it was also delicious, very refreshing. the bartended and the servers were so polite, the whole joint runs smooth and peacefully. would 100% recommend, and will 100% be back!! read more

Updated review: Husband and I don't seem to stop in to this restaurant that regularly. We seem to forget that it is here or it could be that a few years ago, we had received poor service. That being said, on the Fourth of July, we came specifically for ribs. As soon as we crossed the threshold, the hostess said she would be happy to seat us, but she wanted to warn us that the restaurant was out of ribs. Husband was very disappointed that a rib restaurant was out of their main item. Still, we decided to make different choices. I picked the Smokehouse Chicken and my guy decided on the Pork Chop dinner. Both came with choice of two sides. Our meals were very good. I also ordered a white sangria which was very good. My main reason for updating the review and adding a star is that our server was attentive and personable. I think his name was Christopher. This young man was a big improvement from previous servers, we have had at Smokey Bones. This place has gone down hill over the last few years. I keep giving it 'one more try' but I'm officially done. The brisket was nothing but fat. The ribs were burnt solid black char on the bottom. Even the baked beans had a strange taste. Not to mention the order was take out and had to wait 25 minutes for my meal. There are several authentic BBQ places in the area that are a must try.
