Smokey Bones Dayton - GREAT SERVER!! - Barbeque Near Me - Dayton, Ohio

Made a pit stop on our 12 hour drive. The food was amazing. My fiance had the rib plate and I had just pretzels (due to heartburn) so i couldn't try any other food. We will definitely be back! read more

Hayden was great. Very helpful with recommendations and very attentive. All of our food was good, but cornbread was excellent.

Ashley is a great hostess! Great smile and very friendly. Food was great. Service was fast.

Call do place order, drove over 30 minutes and they didn't have order. Poor service, the manager on duty was actually rude

This was my first visit to Smokey Bones and will probably be my last. I read on Yelp there was a all you can eat wing special. Our server had no idea of specials. I believe a courteous server can make up for a lot of ills of a restaurant, but this was not the case on this visit. The actually made the experience worse. The server was not helpful at n the least. I wasn't sure of sauces for the wings and the server wasn't helpful and even seemed disinterested in the entire experience. We had food waiting to be served guest who came in after us were having food delivered. We observed our waiter, Anthony standing around while we were needing trash removed and empty water glasses. I wanted to order donuts that I heard so much about, but I did not want to spend anymore time at the restaurant. We were jealous of the great service the people had in the booth was n front of us. The food was not bad, but the service made the entire experience abysmal. Overall, terrible experience. read more

Food and service were great. Our server, Hayden, was on it! Sauce choices kept the kids busy, so it was good for the whole fam!

Had another amazing meal at Smokey Bones. Natasha was our waitress, and she took good care of us, very attentive to our table and never had to ask for a refill. Look forward to coming again. read more

The food was great I had an awesome experience great service and gabby made sure everything was correct and was very helpful and the drinks were also very good 10/10 service read more

This place is a drama fest. The drinks and food are both overpriced. I had the Brisket plate and 2 tequilas and paid $60. I ate overpriced food while listening to women complain about their lives and throw "GD" out several times. I really don't like leaving negative reviews but feel like I have to to help the business. Please improve the experience. read more

First and last time here. The service was great, everything else sucked. The food was over cooked and tasteless, the drinks were weak. Thank you to the waitress, she was nice. read more

Okay. The food is still the same which is decent enough but the service AT THE BAR is horrible. I've been at our Florida home since last September and came here tonight with hubby. Typically at a bar you get great service. Well you can just forget about that here with the staff we had. Oh and as a side bar; booty shorts are evidently appropriate attire for bars staff AND servers. Do yourself a favor and hit one of the scads of other chains on Miller lane. Whoever the GM here needs to wake up. SERIOUSLY. read more

I did a pick up inside, take out order. I arrived 5 minutes before time, was immediately greeted, my order in my hand and out the door in less than 3 minutes! After getting home, everything was as ordered, lots of fries and everything was good. Happy customer! read more

This restaurant is the definition of mid. The pickle chips mid. The hamburger with pulled pork and cole slaw on it, mid. To top it off the waiter then asked if I would rate 5 stars on google for some free donuts, obviously I took the BRIBE but that's still very unprofessional. In case you see the google reviews that are so high this is the reason why. read more

We were sat quickly and the food was great. Plus our server Angie was attentive and super sweet!

Well, theres a lot to say, but I will keep it brief. The server was very nice and did a pretty good job but my real complaint is with the food and drink portion. I paid $10.50 for a thimble of a Bourbon Mule. However, when I ordered my meal I added a side of fries for $2.29 and received a saucer plate of fries. Not a basket, not another plate, but a saucer plate worth about $.29 ......Ridiculous. To add insult to injury the soup was about 650 degrees and was really too hot to eat for about 20 mins. All three strikes in one night, not a place I would come back to. read more

I went to this restaurant on Friday night 10/4/19 after I arrived in Dayton, Oh. This was my first time eating at this restaurant. My parents suggested we go here for dinner. The atmosphere was nice. It wasn't too crowded. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful, with the menu selections. I ordered their house Margarita which was $5 and good. I ordered the Steak Spinach Salad with Bacon Vinaigrette. My mom had the Pulled Pork Plate and my dad had 1/3 rib plate. This restaurant stays open until 2 a.m. and it is family friendly. It was so good, we decided to go again before I leave town. read more

Desiree was our waiter and was very friendly. I had some very delicious chicken that was cooked perfectly. Great place to eat

Christina, our server, was amazing. She was busy but made us feel like we were her only table!!

Been a customer of Smokey Bones on Miller Lane for years and this time we stopped it was disheartening and disappointing. It took awhile to get seated and get service. We ordered from the menu and asked if the side salad was a "side" at not cost and he said yes. The salad is half the size we were used to and my wife's salad was freezer burned and some pieces were molded. Her 1/3 slab was mostly bones and no meat, my steak was 1/4 inch thick and the prices were much higher tan the last time there. When we got the bill the salad was an up charge. My wife said don't worry about it lets just not go to Smokey Bones any more. P.S. During our dinner the staff was loud and yelling at each other at the kitchen pick up area. read more

I have gone to many Smokey bones in the south and Midwest--this is by far the worst service I have ever had. I think the bartender's name is Shelley. I'm usually pretty relaxed about service bc I'm a bartender as well, but this bar is dead. It took her a long time to come here and ask us if we were ready. Instead she decided to bus tables and stand by the service well. She also seems like she hates her job. I saw her by the well confused on how to make my drink... LOL it's wrong bc I order it a lot and it's definitely not the same and with different garnishes let alone the pour was like less than a one second pour. Feeling ripped off and disappointed in a company I frequently give my money to. She also just left without saying goodbye or even letting us know she was transferring us--there was no bartender behind the bar when she left and server came up and asked us if we needed anything and we were so confused.... just a bad experience. read more

Worst burger I have ever ate . Tasted as if it was microwaved. Service was good but would not recommend. I don't Yelp but felt compelled to review read more

Ordered some food and asked for NO PORK what so ever. And asked them to substitute all the pork on the platter for something else. They brought us pork nachos and the platter was piled with pork. And the waitress said no substitutions. They never once told us about this and gave us the option to change our order. My friends and are are Muslim and can not eat pork. We even saw one of the cooks grab some fries off a tables plate from the window before it went out. Just horrible service read more

The service We received from Autumn was wonderful and the fried pickles was so good.

Well... this place certainly has gone downhill. The service is poor, very poor... and slow, very slow. Our server brought water and promised to return "in a minute" to take our order. Ten minutes later, she breezed past us slowing down just enough to promise to be "right back." Ten more minutes later, she returned to assure us that she'd "be right back." Finally, she did take our order. Food took a long time to come. A burger ordered "very rare" and without pickles arrived with pickles and maybe medium or medium-well. All orders arrived without napkins and silverware. "I'll be right back." Ten minutes later we went and got them ourselves. Food was not bad, but the service is atrocious. read more

Food was the best I've ever had, service was amazing. I definitely will be back. The general manager Ciera was super friendly

Our server, Hayden, was excellent. The food was amazing. The only real problem was that the appetizer could have been a bit warmer; the cheese was not even melted all the way. Other than that, everything was good. Look forward to coming again. read more

Such a bad experience after visiting business multiple times in the past. We got kicked out of the restaurant by a late night shift manager that wouldn't provide guest with proper service. We waited to be seated for 40 minutes to then wait 20 plus more minutes sitting at the table without even a water. We started getting the employees attention to ask for a server. At the end of it all the solution the manager provided was for us to leave. Anyone would be frustrated after not getting good hospitality at a place where you are looking to eat good food and spend money. When the server approached the table we were extremely on edge since we had seen the hostess point and inform her of her new table almost immediately after sitting us. The server did not approach and interact at all for more than 10 minutes after. She approached us and blamed the hostess she wasn't told she had a table seated and that she was in the restroom. My partner started addressing her in a very direct way where she knew we weren't happy with the service so far. She decide to give us lash back and an attitude to make our experience even worst. We told her to start the tab but to get us a manager and well you heard how that went. Definitely come ready to receive a high level of disrespect of your time and money. read more

Natasha was the best server ever,She was so attentive it was almost annoying . The food was fantastic but the service was even better.

drink order was wrong food took an hour then when it came out it was cold they made it agian and it was wrong

Smokey Bones looks like your typical chain restaurant: flashy exterior with huge logos everywhere and a rustic lodge-like interior common among most places with "grill" in the name. But the food is pretty amazing! We've been several times now and are officially fans. I like this place much better than the cafeteria styled City Barbeque, and I think the meats and sauces are superior to a lot of the little "authentic" Mom & Pop BBQ spots we've hit up throughout Ohio. And EVERY BBQ joint should have a carousel of various sauces available on every table -- now that's how I wanna dine! This visit my husband and I started with the Pretzel Bones appetizer, which is absolutely amazing if you're a pretzel or breadstick fan. These sticks are soft, buttery, chewy, and have just the perfect amount of salt. You get 4 and a thing of queso dipping cheese, which was thick and reminded me of a great mac n' cheese (minus the mac). Great way to start a meal. We then both ordered the Pulled Pork Sammy and cup of Brunswick Stew lunch combo. Again, delicious. The pork sandwich was FULL of tasty pork bits, no fat or gristle, and the simple bun was so soft which made it perfect for loading up with some extra BBQ sauce. The Brunswick Stew was thick and hearty, full of meat and corn niblets and just a hint of barbeque. I loaded mine with some crushed Saltines and I was in Heaven. Such a great combo meal for lunch and under $10?! Wildly delicious. This Smokey Bones location has never disappointed us, so we'll definitely keep going back and would recommend it to all looking for a casual sit-down BBQ chain that actually serves up really good food. Good BBQ is hard to find!!! read more

There is very little that sticks out in my mind about Smokey Bones. Nothing was done wrong, but it is pretty much forgetable. The food was decent and the portion sizes definitely fill you up. I had the ribs and a sampling of the sauces they supply on each table (all but the mustard-based) and they were pretty good. Sides were OK. The beer selection was decent, but the number of drafts was not very expansive; bottles fare better. Service was good, but not amazing. Both the hostess and our server were affable, friendly and quick to answer questions. The whole place is very casual and kind of comfortable, like a friend of a friend's basement where you hung out once but can't really remember why. Not bad at all, but I don't think I'd be a regular. read more
