I've been coming to this location now for about a year. Recently, I've started sitting at the bar, and Brittani has been our bartender and she's absolutely on top of her game. She makes sure our drinks are filled, and we are happy with the food. She is bubbly, and personable and is an all around fun person to interact with. At dinner time this place is pact full of people, but lunch is not as much. The wings are to die for and the chili is even better. The brisket is delicious and the sour cream just tops it off. It is so much fun whenever I come up here. The food is so delicious, the ribs are amazing, the chicken wings are awesome everything is good. The staff is always very very friendly and they go way above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. 4 for dinner. I ordered the SIGNATURE ribs yet the server swapped for the HOUSE ribs without informing me. Apparently, the restaurant was out of the Signature ribs on a Saturday night. So, for example, if I order a filet steak and they are out, you just substitute flank steak without informing the customer. This seems okay with the clowns at Smokey Bones Restaurant ????? First, the House ribs are a total garbage product. I sent it back and ordered something else. It took 30 minutes to come to the table. 3 people are now finished dinner while I have not even been served. The manager said it was "miscommunication" and it was my fault for not reading the sign upon entry which indicated they were out of Signature Ribs. In fact, I asked the server about the difference between the Signature and House ribs. Not a word was mentioned that they were out of Signature. Apparently, Smokey Bones management instructs the wait staff not to say anything and just swap for crappy ribs. The house ribs are a joke by the way, total garbage product. Also, during this whole fiasco, the Manager NEVER stopped by, and I had to flag him down as I was leaving. It gets better! This clown of a Manager proudly felt he handled everything properly. He was such an ass and actually stood there telling me it was my own fault. The restaurant should fire this clown! I will NEVER come back. Who knows what else they are swapping out and what you are eating. By the way, its fraudulent to swap food without informing the customer. read more

Purchased through online delivery. Was called stating they were out of an item I ordered as an appetizer that was $15. I requested a refund. After the food came I noticed we were missing another side ordered that was another $10. I called and was greeted well and promised my order would be refunded. This was now two weeks ago I still have not received my refund I called several time's with one return call only ( I did miss the call). After contacting and leaving messages I contacted corporate. Corporate has also not returned my inquiry for the request of the refund. Shame on them and this is unacceptable. It's $25 dollars stolen and I am resorting to a bad review. This is due to principle of treating the customer correctly. If I decide to go in to the restaurant and order items then decide not to pay the police would be called. It's unfortunate because we enjoyed the meal and we were talking about going in with friends to experience the restaurant. Now we won't and I wonder why it's so hard to get a simple refund. What if there was a double charge? How could I know I will be refunded? What other restaurant duties are being passed up on? I can't recommend a restaurant that cannot cater to a simple request for a refund due to missing items totaling $25 as it ruins trust. read more

The food was amazing! I drove past this place for a year and a half and didn't know what I was missing! The glaze on the ribs took me back to childhood memories of a restaurant no longer in business in California (Love's BBQ) and I was in love all over again. We will certainly be back more often now! Food was good! My Nutty chicken salad had some great ingredients like the cranberries with the rusted nuts and a really delicious honey mustard dressing. However this review is inspired by the awesome service from our waiter Jason who was truly amazing. It's wonderful when you visit a place where your server knows his menu and his attentive treatment elevates your dining experience. Jason was super attentive, friendly and accommodating. It was a beautiful night tonight we decided to go to Smokey's and sit outside. Sometimes this place is a hit or miss but tonight it was straight on. Everything pretty much perfect! Our server Erica was very nice and efficient. We got the wings and got a BLT which we split everything. The wings were cooked perfectly and she gave us some extra sauce on the side which was delicious. Their blue cheese is beyond good. The BLT which we've never ordered before was fantastic. Loaded with bacon lettuce and tomato and the bread was nice and fresh. Our neighbors got the salmon and the pulled beef brisket. Both looked fantastic. They loved them. This evening i dined at the clearwater location as I do atleast once a week.todays special was bogo brisket dinner for $27and when my meal arrived it had 4 pieces of the fattiest and chewist brisket i have ever had . i found the manager and he sent them back only to get 2 more meals with a bit more meat less fat but tuff and stringy like a rubber band. So realistically 2 of those crappy meals would cost someone $54 ? Wow what a waste of my money ( your burgers are 100% better for only $6 ) my server did well but he didn't Cook that meal of fat . I am glad this location still exists! This past visit (less than 2 weeks ago) was my first visit to this particular Smokey Bones in probably ten years, but I was delighted to learn that not much had changed. My friend from out of town and I scored a corner booth upon walk-in on a weeknight and learned that take-out is popular at this location (be sure to walk to the left after you enter the front door - the host stand is easy to miss....not as popular as the carry-out counter). The service was decent and the food was good. I had a "create your own combo" in which I combined the baby back ribs and BBQ chicken. I enjoyed the broccoli and baked potato as my sides. The ribs were tad disappointing - not as close to falling off the bone as I expected, but then again this is a large chain restaurant so I was not holding them to the same caliber as 4Rivers. My friend, happily adhering to the keto diet as closely as possible, did something else. I deleted the pictures and she paid for the meal, otherwise I would include those details in this review. No matter if it's just friends, family, couple or a date! We had the privilege of being waited by Aron, he was GREAT! His energy was the best! He took our order even made some recommendation! (That's the vibe each waiter should have!) Kept checking in on us and his tables to make sure everyone was enjoying their meal and incase anyone needed anything! Well, my dear Queen Bee said she was thinking of BBQ for lunch after a long absence from it. As we had errands to run in this area, I reluctantly agreed. Last time we dined here I had a lousy experience, and that was THAT...So I said "never again." Somehow a certain James Bond movie comes to mind as I do my honorable best to care for my dear Queen Bee. We bypassed the host stand with the Mickey Rooney lookalike pulling double duty as a server and headed straight to the bar. There we were bombarded by a certain Ms. Stephanie (she introduced her overly sweet-sounding self). She seemed preoccupied with getting our order in before turning into a pumpkin or something. Sigh! They have $10.99 lunch specials so we both opted for one of those. Then the Queen Bee opted for the same meat as me, to wit: the pulled pork! So much for a more through review; sigh! She opted for different sides, neither of which I would order: baked beans as well as mac & cheese, the latter of which I loathe. I chose slaw and unseasoned extra crispy fries. Each platter also comes with a piece of garlic bread, which I suppose is fair. It's a piece of bread with garlic margarine slathered on it, run through a salamander or toaster. Big deal: at least they can't screw THAT up... Of course they DID screw up the fries which came out seasoned. One of their managers was the one who brought out our chow...I looked at him and he realized the gaff. He took it away and we started over. Barkeep Stephanie asked what was wrong. I said that someone just doesn't know how to read. Once it came out, the rest was nice. Pulled pork had a good Smokey flavor. I split the nice sized pile into a few smaller ones so I could use each of the three out of four sauces that appealed to me. Favorite was their chipotle BBQ, which is just my 2nd favorite KC BBQ sauce with two kinds of Tabasco sauce added in. Carolina mopping sauce is an apropos name for their third one, which kinda reminds me of mop water with vinegar and tomato product added. Eh! I won't use their mustard based Carolina BBQ sauce because I simply do not like it nor have I ever since the one time I tasted it. Blech!!! The one last observation is that the glass of wine my Queen Bee had was $12. I spoke my displeasure, to which Ms. Stephanie replied "our wines are a little pricey." No, Ms. Stephanie: they're a GD ripoff! Our plates weren't even that expensive, as my thought bubble burst aloud. I still don't think I really care for the way this place runs or does business. Well, when the manager doubles as the food runner, I probably should guess that they don't either. Good help truly IS hard to find. This place shows it! read more

Man oh man was this a great stop for dinner. As you can tell I love BBQ. I'm a firm believer in there's a place for all God's creatures next to the potatoes on your plate. Lol I'm joking folks! The food was amazing! The smoked Turkey was moist and flavorful. I also got the jalapeño cheese sausage which was really good too. For sides I had coleslaw and corn both really good. The Barbecue sauces all 4 were great. I loved the mustard sauce. Seriously what's up with that I usually hate the mustard sauces but this is the second place in Florida and it's amazing. Thoroughly have enjoyed my dining experiences here. The space is big and can absolutely accommodate someone in a wheelchair or walker. The wait can sometimes suck- even with reservations. It can get loud in there since it's one open space that sort of models itself as a sports bar BBQ? The servers are friendly and chatty and the apps and mains are great portion sizes. They have a variety of BBQ sauces on the tables- both times I've been here tho the actual labels are scuffed off so it's a guessing game with flavors. For a chain - this place lack food quality. Has a 9 oz sirloin - medium w baked potato and broccolis. Take out service was non existent. After I placed my order - no one came back. They just was piling up food orders in the shelf. In Justin Truman's found mine and left. Steak had good flavor but could tell the quality of meat was poor. Potato was tiny and dried out - could tell these were made hours before and was just sitting under a heat lamp. Same w the broccoli - it was boiled and sat in hot water till ordered. Today I went to lunch w my husband to Smokey Bones in Clearwater. We had a great server in Helen. She was very knowledgeable of things, efficient, and friendly. We both had lunch combos. Mine was the chicken breast with a glaze and his (not pictured) was the pulled pork. I ordered wedge potatoes as a side as I'd never had those before. I really liked them. Everything was great and I know we'll be back. Just a word of caution-a couple weeks ago we came at 5 on a Saturday. HUGE waiting line. Visited Smokey Bones the other night with my husband and a friend from out of town. I have been to other Smokey bones before and it's always an easy casual restaurant choice. The food was decent. Not the best but not bad. The service, however, was absolutely horrible. It took forever to get silverware after the food was delivered. I don't know about you, but if I order hot food that requires utensils, I don't want to be forced to eat it cold or with my fingers. Nothing like waiting so long that you're forced to get up from the table to find anyone to get forks. Drinks were not refilled, even though our glasses were empty for over an hour. We weren't checked on at all. We literally didn't see the waitress at all from the time we placed our orders until she dropped off the bill without saying a word.
