went for lunch and ate everything off the happy hour menu that they have which was well priced and full of a variety of options. I ordered some things for dine in and ordered a couple things to go as well. I got the mini mag nachos which came with pulled pork and pulled chicken on it, the pulled pork sandwich, the cheeseburger, and the boneless wings Everything was good, but the standouts for me where the nachos and the wings as I got those flavored the "bone style", which is their signature sauce and seasoning. it was a little slow at the time I went so service was really great and I sat at the bar and also enjoyed one of their well drinks and overall had a great service experience. read more

I have been a few times now with my friends & family and we always love it. It always very warm and clean. The employees are always nice and attentive. Tonight was no different, I loved all of my food and I was excited to try the new loaded french fries. I was able to request no bacon, which was very nice. They were absolutely amazing and a new favorite of mine. I cannot wait to go back. I also really love the pretzel bones! read more

First time here and will be the last. Was never brought cutlery or napkins at any point. I went to the hostess stand to get them myself. Manager came by when we arrived and said she would be by to see how we like our food. She never came by again (maybe she got busy. It's fine. But no I did not like my food). The food: how on earth do you make bland loaded mashed potatoes? How? Smokey Bones knows how, apparently, and that's a secret they can keep. In addition, my chicken sandwich had that microwaved taste. Thank goodness for the honey bbq sauce at the table or I wouldn't have eaten more than a bite. I did not finish my sandwich or my potatoes. The table behind me got that platter you can share with 2-3 people. Well the vegetables it came with are peppers and onions - guess what they were out of? Peppers and onions. How does a kitchen run out of such staples? Our waitress was nice, the food arrived in good time (as it should, it wasn't busy) and my friend liked his pulled pork and beans so I will give it 2 stars for those reasons. I personally would never eat here again and this is the first time in my life I have said that about a BBQ joint. Ambiance is casual and has a smokey scent to it. read more

There was confusion at the host station but we still got seated pretty quickly. We were seated in the bar area, which we did not ask for and the bar tender was working really hard making drinks, taking orders, bringing out requests to all the bar patrons and tables. Greta was like the energizer bunny crossed with a patient saint! Three of us ordered rib specials that came with two sides and one order of smoked wings with a dry rub. The ribs were tasty, but not very meaty... the sides were not generous at all. The cole slaw had very little seasoning in it. The fries were crisp and hot, but there were definitely not enough of them..., the baked beans were OK, nothing special and the steamed broccoli was just about four pieces of broccoli with no seasoning. Corn bread was considered an upgraded side... the meals came with a slice of garlic toast... The smoked wings were a little over cooked, so another plate was brought out to us quickly and kindly by a food runner. The service was friendly and the food was edible... not our favorite, but nothing to really complain about either... the ambience was typical of a BBQ place with a bar area... lots of noise and lots of tv's. read more

Both my boyfriend and I have not been here in years and don't typically do chain restaurants. But we were in the area and were thrilled with our experience! Our waitress was. Fantastic and those donuts! I wasn't even hungry, but we decided to order the Nones Fire, which is a meat lovers paradise. It comes out on a charcoal grill, which was super fun. Everything on it was fantastic. We were super impressed and nothing needed additional sauce, even though there were four types on the table. We were intrigued by the bag of donuts and decided to order some to go. Foolishly; we tied one at the table before we left and ended up eating all five. They come with chocolate and raspberry dipping sauce and the raspberry sauces was amazing. Not that they needed anything ! The only negative is that we left feeling way too full because everything was so good! We will be back! read more

We got takeout from smokeybones bbq last night, the mashed potatoes and pulled pork were so good. The sweet potato fries were alright, it tasted like they were alittle overcooked so they could have been better. The toast, excellent! And the ribs could have been cooked alittle longer, I like my ribs alittle more tender for sure. My husband picked up the food but he said he like the service, they were nice. read more

I came here for a nice dinner with friends before going to the mall, and I think we found a new favorite spot! The restaurant was packed when we got there, but we only waited a short while before our party of three was seated. The restaurant smelled absolutely delicious, so we could not wait to order. I ordered the any two favorites platter, which is a choice of two of their signature meats, served with two sides and garlic bread. For my two meats, I ordered the BBQ chicken, which is marinated and basted in a sweet BBQ glaze, then slow-roasted, and the smoked sausage. For my sides, I ordered the BBQ-backed beans, which are house-made BBQ-baked beans with pulled pork and brisket, and then the potatoes with gravy, which are mashed red potatoes served with brown gravy. The meats themselves were delicious, enhanced by the delicious sauces on the table! Our whole party was satisfied with the food. Our waitress was very nice, but she was also overwhelmed by the number of tables she had as the restaurant was busy. So my only complaint is that I wish the service was a bit faster, but I cannot complain too much as she was very kind. Overall, we cannot wait to come back again! read more

I met my team from work at Smokey Bones for lunch recently and it was an enjoyable experience. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the menu had several healthier items to choose from to make everybody happy. The restaurant was not too busy for lunch that day so we were able to get a nice large booth to sit at. The service was quick and friendly and our server kept chronicling on us throughout lunch. I had the hand pulled chicken platter with some healthy broccoli and a not so healthy loaded baked potato..... very delicious! My coworkers had a burger. a salad and the salmon which were all good. We all splurged and shared their delicious donuts for dessert!!! read more

We ordered takeout- the pulled chicken sandwich, the crispy chicken sandwich, cornbread and mashed potatoes with gravy. The food was good. The crispy chicken was extra crispy, although it didn't come with any condiments on it? That was weird. The pulled chicken had a great flavor but it was super dry. The bbq sauce flavor was INCREDIBLE. I didn't really have experience with the ambiance or the wait staff. The bathroom was sticky and visibly dirty. read more

Unfortunately, my first experience at Smokey Bones was less than to be desired. Upon arrival we were met at the door with a large crowd waiting to be seated- I tend to think that's always a good sign at a bbq place when there's a waiting line...but after about 7-10 minutes of waiting to put our name on the waiting list with the others and there were multiple open tables available became clear that the either they were understaffed or management wasn't in place. I will say however, once we were finally greeted, staff members were kind, welcoming and friendly. Food: My company had the full rack of ribs which he really enjoyed. I had the 2 meat platter with pulled pork and brisket- sides were baked potato and coleslaw. Pulled pork was ok, but the brisket was inedible-ALL fat! And believe me, I have eaten brisket many, many times and I've never seen anything like this- gross (photo doesn't even show to the degree). Waitress was surprised and said she hadn't noticed when bringing it out but agreed and did her best after SEVERAL minutes to go back to the kitchen and get replacement meat. The brisket (my favorite smoked me) was just of (if that). Pretty disappointing. We did hear about the smoked wings for an appetizer and thought we give them a try too - not smoked, but good sauce. One part of the meal that was delicious was the cornbread and butter- should have stuck with that for my meal. Overall, pretty disheartening when the bill was over $100 (no alcohol) for two meals, one order of 6 wings, and cornbread. read more

I don't often venture out to BBQ joints because my son is a hobbyist pit master and this mother has a strong preference for his brisket! Smokey Bones is a chain restaurant with a bbq format. The menu is very large with Early Bird Specials until 5:00 pm, appetizers and soups, bbq platters, burgers and sandwiches, salads, and chicken wings. Undoubtably there's something for everyone. I ordered hot chicken wings and a small side salad. Although they were edible, I wouldn't be able to recommend them for a Buffalo wing lover. They arrived looking a little sad, dried and not particularly sauced. Noticeably missing was a cup of blue cheese as well as celery and carrots. The salad was "old" with brown bits through my bowl. My dining companion ordered a side salad and a mini mag nacho appetizer which looked great and was pleasantly crispy and full of delicious pulled chicken and pork. Our waitress was very efficient, kind and patient and took good care of us. Let me digress a little. The bathrooms were not clean. Paper towels were overflowing two garbage cans and created a trip hazard. Not sure I would visit again with all the alternatives up and down Walden Ave. read more

Was recommended by the locals to try it, but wasn't impressed at all. The place is actually huge with plenty of parking and is in a nice area surrounded by other restaurants. When we entered the place there was a couple waiting to be seated and even though the restaurant was pretty much empty it took about 5 minutes before a hostess showed up. After having seated them she asked if we wanted to be seated or make an order to go. After having witnessed the wait time just to be seated we decided that we wanted to make it to go. Only to find out there is another lady who is the To Go hostess and that she would soon arrive to take our order. After waiting for another 10 minutes with no activity we decided to place an online order instead of waiting any further. The original hostess arrived after 15 minutes and apologized for no one coming over to take our order at which point we shared we had already placed an order online. She was sweet though and offered drinks on the house for the inconvenience but we politely declined. The food finally arrived after another 25 minutes and I would say our opinion about the food was mixed. My chicken sandwich was extremely dry that I could not eat even half of it, however my daughters order of the quarter chicken was decent. Overall this would not be a place I would return to , not just for the slow service but for the fact that the food wasn't up to our liking. They do have a cool logo though. read more

I was pleasantly surprised ! We hardly ever / never go to national chains, we love to support local restaurants! But our son said it was good and they had a great 25th anniversary special ! A full rack of ribs for $14.99 ! So we both had them ( the rack was a bit on the short side) . They came with choice of 2 sides. The ribs were delicious, cooked perfectly, no cartilage or fat , just tender meat with a great sauce. They have about 4 different sauces to add if you want. The baked beans, corn, and slaw were good too ! They have a lot of delicious cocktails too! Glad we went! read more

My wife and I went to Smokey Bones the end of September and were disappointed. Food was not as good as it used to be. I ordered chicken. Was not asked if I wanted dark or white meat. The white meat was dry (white is always dry). We were there for my wife's birthday and she wanted to get her birthday dessert. Waited 15 to 20 minutes for them to bring it. Not very good service. Smokey Bones has not been the same since Covid. We're not going back anymore. It's a shame, because it used to be one of our favorites. read more

My bf and I came here for the Veterans Day lunch today. We were seated within a minute of walking in. Servers were good, attentive and seemed like they all worked together a bit. Pulled Pork Sammy 8/10. Good, plain so that you can choose your own bbq sauce from the options on each table, it didn't really have a Smokey flavor or seasonings, and it did have the slightest bit of dryness (like you would expect from a pulled chicken). Meatloaf 7/10. Juicy, gravy had a good flavor, it was very tightly packed together. And didn't have any onions or celery in it. Almost like a Salisbury steak and not meatloaf. Fire-Roasted Corn (side) 10/10. Really good char on it, mixed with the sweetness of the corn, it was really good! This would also make a fantastic street corn salsa! Pink Dragon Margarita 6/10. The tequila in this overpowered the grapefruit flavor for me, so unfortunately I didn't taste it at all. read more

While in the area, my friend and I stopped here. It was either here or Olive Garden and I will never go back to Olive Garden. My friend likes it here, so I decided to give in and go to a chain. We split a Buffalo chicken sandwich and nachos. The nachos were great. If we just got the nachos, it would have been enough food. I liked that the nachos had a variety of meats on it. The sandwich was good, but nothing exceptional. The service was good. Smokey Bones is your average chain. A must try restaurant when you're there! They have best bbq for all kinds of meats! Our last order was the best one, Bone Fire Grill - a hot pot of bbq meats for 3 persons that comes on the grill. All the meats are so tender and marinated well, all are still hot until you picked them up from the grill. So it's like you're having bbq, but you have them prepared and cooked perfectly for you and they're just ready to eat while still hot! Don't forget to add the brown sugar chicken wings as the sides, they're finger licking good! The downside was, the service a lil bit slow because they only have one server who was running around the restaurant and the best part was she's very energetic and friendly to anyone, though she's exhausted! They're hiring new people who's looking for new experience, come and check it out! read more

Invested $145 on a family dinner for 4. Food was mediocre at best. If I had the chance to reconsider, I'd have ran over to Home Depot and put down another $55 to invest in a new electric smoker and cook what I ordered at home. The food was ok, but not something that I'll be in a hurry to go back and get. St. Louis ribs were worthy of a 1 1/2 star as they tasted like they'd been overcooked in a crock pot all day and then brushed with bbq sauce. The smoked sausage was really good as it was very flavorful. Also tried the spiral Mac and cheese (3 star), Cole slaw (3 star) and mashed potato with gravy (4 star). Our waitress and hostess were very attentive and helpful and the atmosphere was nice. Not too loud or busy. read more

The food here is pretty average I felt like. The standout, however, was our server who was great. He was always available but not too clingy. We ordered the wings and fried pickles which could have easily been the meal on its own, but we were starving and ended up getting steaks as well. The sirloins were on the drier side but the apps were decent enough to give this place a 3 stars. Not bad if you're in the area but I would probably get something other than the steaks. read more

We had a late dinner on Thursday. The place was nearly empty when the hostess/ bartender brought a family to sit in the table directly behind us. What started out as a peaceful conversation with my family turned quiet when the family behind us began talking loudly. I didn't want to hear them and they didn't want to hear us. We ordered the $30 appetizer tray. Way too skimpy for 3. We each had sandwichs . They were good but way too little for the price. The sides were tiny. The plates looked just half full when they were delivered. With sodas tax + tip $100. We could have sat at the bar. The service was fine; it was 1p.m. and so after the normal lunch hour. The restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered a wing special, getting 8 regular wings in medium sauce and 8 boneless wings in habanero mango sauce. The regular wings were tasty and had bit of tang. The boneless wings were not good. Not only was the habanero mango sauce less tangy/spicy than the medium sauce on the bone in wings, but the chicken just did not taste right. The boneless wings seemed dry; maybe they were in the freezer too long? I have not eaten at Smokey Bones in a very long time, but if I remember correctly, their ribs are pretty good.
