Ike & BG's is definitely worth a trip to the outer limits of the city. You can't miss the spot because the smoke will be billowing through the neighborhood. It's takeout only but you can call ahead if you think of it. You might have to wait 15-20 minutes if you don't call ahead. But waiting at the counter was fine. The other customers were chatty while we were waiting so the time passed pleasantly. You give your order at the counter and you pick it up at the same counter. It's not a big place. I got the ribs. A full slab. No problems with them. The end pieces were like burnt ends but I do like that kind of thing. They're served saucy, which is how I like them. The cole slaw was different but good, made with a sweet pickle relish as opposed to mayo or vinegar. I will probably try that at home but with dill relish instead of sweet. The mac n cheese was not my favorite. More like a noodle pudding if you like that shirt of thing. I'll skip that next time and go for some greens or yams. read more

Yelp asked me to review this place but I really have no idea how to. I drove past this past for weeks while working near by. The smell was wonderful and made me crave BBQ for quite some time. I finally had time to stop and grab a bite so I did. The portion size was good , the cook was very good on the ribs but each rib tasted completely different . The one rib I would tell you never to go here but a couple others I would say you have to try this place ! The others fell randomly in between. So this leaves me in a conundrum. So seriously guys if you have read my reviews before then you know that I'm a stickler for customer service and that I'll travel for great food!!!!! I'm making this review soly based off of their customer service and I'll add to it after the food comes out. I've driven by this place and smelled the BBQ time and time again. I never stopped because I thought it was a rib place. I don't eat pork and I'm not much of a beef or any type of rib. It always smelled great though. So a while back I started seeing pictures of dinners people got from here. I looked on Yelp of course and saw the reviews on here were great. My daughter's hungry so I brought her here to try it out for her boyfriend and herself. I'm going to taste it too little do they know. Anywho we were greeted by a young man at the counter who was very pleasant and smiling with the company logo attire on. We initially wanted steak hoagies they ran out of sub rolls. Apparently today was an especially sublicious day! Okay so moving on my daughter ordered a fish dinner with macaroni and cheese and yams, and a fried chicken dinner with macaroni and string beans. No pork in the sides! Yaye! The chicken dinner is half a chicken as well. The order was placed by a woman who was also dressed in company attire as is everyone else I've seen in here. She was very nice and answered our menu item questions before ordering. After ordering we were going to get back in the car when she asked us if we'd like a crispy cream donut while we wait. I ordered from Ike & BG's on a Saturday night, so I already had my expectations set that it was going to be a busy night for them. My friends and I tried to place an online order through their app and was told that the restaurant missed our orders multiple times. I was told this was not the first time that they tried to order online and the service was usually always down. We called the restaurant five times before someone answered the phone, and we began to place our order. Luckily we had backup orders ready as we had to make multiple changes due to the fact that they were out of a lot of their menu items and sides. Once again, we chalked it up to it being a busy night. We ordered a chicken hoagie with fries, two fish fries (one with mac and cheese and yams, and one with mac n cheese and coleslaw), and banana pudding. The person answering the phone did not give us a price for the food when we finished placing our order, which prompted us to be suspicious of what we were going to be charged versus the prices listed through their online ordering app. We were right to think this way due to being charged about 5 dollars extra for something which continues to be a mystery. Now onto the food, when opening the carryout boxes the size of the fish and hoagie were great. The flavors of the main portion of the dinner are what keeps us coming back to Ike & BG's. The fish and chicken served did not disappoint. However, the sides left much to be desired. My coleslaw was simply watered down, runny cabbage. And my friend received green beans instead of mac n cheese with her fish. The bannana pudding was steller and tasted like the real deal. I reccomend getting trying it if you go. More than a year ago I tried Ike & BG's and for $38.00 all I got was over cooked pieces from the big end of the rib. No actual ribs. I tried them again the other day and Again after a 25 minute wait I received over cooked end pieces and maybe 3 ribs. I wanted some water but he was having fun with me because I was talking cash shit about being able to take it and he was taking his sweet time too!! To make a long story short, he baptized my ass that day on spicy sauces. The only reason I'm giving this establishment 4 stars is the fact that the hot sauce that he had and grows himself didn't have a bbq sauce base to it whatsoever. It didn't have anything to do with that. This little sauce he made is 5 times hotter than habanero peppers!!!! So when I went back today I told him I'm back!! I'm not scared of you!! He said which sauce do you want, the hot or mild?? I said mild and kept it rolling. Bottom line, the BBQ was pretty damn good. He has pineapples cut up in the baked beans which I've never had before, but was pretty good. The baked mac and cheese was there, no question at all. Now, he likes having his ribs already sauced up before he serves them to go. However, I can't take points off on him for that because I've never asked for the sauce on the side. It is July 3rd 2021 and I was craving ribs. We live in the Seneca Babcock area and googled Ribs and Ike & BGs came up. We figured we give them a shot. We ordered 1 rack of ribs. What we got was a magnificent eating experience. The Ribs were plentiful and the sauce was not too sweet , had a slight kick.
