I've been wanting to travel from the north side and try this place out for quite some time. The opportunity final came about and it was definitely worth it. This is truly a unique place to have dinner or a drink in the bar area. We were welcomed in right away and since we were on the early side of dinner time, it was pretty empty. The waitress brought water right away and was very nice in giving us a few extra minutes to look the menu over since it was our first visit. We started out with the smoked deviled eggs and they were awesome. Some picked onions garnished the plate and they were very good too. For dinner my wife opted for the chicken bowl with corn side and I had the Italian Grinder that comes with a choice of slaw, but I opted to upgrade to the jalapeño Mac and cheese side. The food was awesome all the way around. The corn side was a highlight for sure. We could both have eaten just a giant bowl of that. The chicken in my wife's meal was super tender and tasty. The four bbq sauces on the table made it even better. My sandwich was was so good and super filling. The Mac and cheese didn't disappoint either. While there we met the owner and through our conversation you could tell he is very invested in making customers happy and making an excellent product. On this visit I would say they succeeded in both. For me this is the best bbq I've had in the area. For certain we'll be making the trip back to try other menu options and re-visit the meals we had today. read more

Decent BBQ for Spokane. Takeout is the way to go. Dine-in service needs a lot of work. 4 stars for food, 2 starts for service.... The good: - Train makes for a cool atmosphere - Pretty good BBQ for Spokane - Good bar menu - Does a brisk takeout service The not so good - Poor dine-in service - Can get loud due to the smaller space The atmosphere - They have done a good job turning the train into a fun space. Kitchen is in the caboose. They have a full dining car. A smaller car that was more of a waiting area that appears could be dining as well. The engine was turned into a cool bar area. Due to the small space, the acoustics are not the best, you can hear conversations from tables at the other end. A child's scream can be very loud. The food - While none of the food was hot, it was all pretty good. The meat is served dry, which I like. The ribs were a little fatty but tasty and fell off the bone. The rub they used is excellent. Sides were tasty and homemade. The Cilantro Lime Slaw stood out as it was a great contrast to the meat. They served Texas Toast instead of the usual plain white bread you may find at other BBQ places. It was a nice unexpected touch. The service - Where do I begin? We received 16 oz beers that had at the most 10 oz in one and 12 oz in the other. When asked, our server said they would fill them but never did. When the food came out, our server was confused as to who ordered what...there was only two of us. We had to ask for sauce and they brought over three squeeze bottles. We discovered one was plugged. When we told our server, they took the bottle away. About ten minutes later they came back and said they couldn't unplug it and that was the only bottle they had...WHAT?? They didn't offer to bring us any. They do take out, I am sure they have some. There appeared to be three servers which should be plenty, but we had to flag one down as they didn't check on anyone. Wish I could do better than 3 stars, but there were some huge misses. It was restaurant week and we wanted to give this BBQ place a try. When you enter the train at first it's kind of awkward, you are not sure which way to go until the hostess/waitress passes by. There was a wait, which is expected during this promotion and we were led to the bar. In fact we ended up in the very front of the train looking out the windshield drinking our cocktails which was cool. When we got to our table, we asked for deviled eggs, but we're told they were out. Instead, we ordered the andouille sausage bites and the creamy feta dip, both good. A couple was seated next to us after 10 min or so and ordered devil eggs and got them....WTF. That made no sense. We also ordered German Sausage Sandwich (pretty good) and the Brisket French Onion Sandwich (which was huge, delicious and filling). They brought 4 types of sauce. We liked the traditional and spicy best. We also tried both the traditional and cilantro lime slaw. The traditional paired better with our meal. Besides the eggs the huge miss was the dessert. We ordered both the bread pudding and apple crisp. This was frustrating because we order these when we ordered the meal but it took them 20 min from the time we finished the sandwiches to being served the desserts. During that time we thought the reason for the delay was maybe they were being baked fresh. To our dismay it was quite the opposite. They were served cold, like refrigerator cold. I immediately thought, why the hell did this take 20 min. The sad thing is that the flavors seemed to be there but the texture temperature killed it. The BBQ was great and probably the most important aspect when eating here, but miscommunication in service and the dessert drags the rating down. We would probably try this place again, but because of the misses, it's not on our 'must do' list. read more

Meats are well smoked and super tender. Sides are decent but they were out of a couple when we were there. I finally went in this afternoon to try this place that I've heard so many good things about. And guess what? It's true! I went on Tuesday to try their pork street tacos, and wow, easily the best meal out I've had this year. The perfect blend of bbq and Mexican with an absolutely incredible hot and sweet salsa that gave it a great kick. A side of nicely seasoned black beans, and a perfectly blended mango Margarita (so good I had two, which I rarely do eating out). Planning to go back to try the Moroccan chicken next, which is offered on Thursdays. The decor was nice, the server was attentive as well. Highly recommended. Actually found this place by their patio pics and margarita flight pictures I saw on FB, so decided to give it a try. The location is definitely unique! Located on an old train caboose for inside dining gives me real Franks Diner vibes, in a good way. But don't be fooled there are no flapjacks here, they have all the smoked meats! We have been customers at SmokeRidge for some time. We love the incredible Bbq and out of this world cocktails. While their menu has changed from bbq to pizzas, they still smoke all of their meats and run specials for bbq menu items. Last night was our first time enjoying their pizza. It did not disappoint. This is hands down our favorite place in the Valley, actually probably all of Spokane. The food is always fresh, meticulously crafted, unique and delicious. It is the best place for cocktails. Extensive menu, first class ingredients, beautiful presentation and very tasty. Plus you can take some of your favorites home in a growler. I took a picture of my Margarita flight, husbands Old Fashioned and appetizer. We were having too much fun and we're so excited when the pizza came I forgot to take a picture. Passing through on the hunt for bbq, says food truck but it's like three train cars and the prep is in the caboose and outside smoking. Inside is A/C, clean, and nostalgic. Cool bar up front which would be a unique spot to grab a drink. Alright now I had the brisket sandwich with smoked beans and cilantro lime cole slaw. They offered up three bbq sauces, one being an interesting spicy mustard. I devoured the brisket and all the sides like this was the Coney Island hot dog challenge. Decided to try Smoke Ridge after seeing an advertisement in the local paper. Despite opening on the verge of the quarantine closure, losing the main smoker in a fire and still trying to finish off the interior. Owner John resolved to carry on. A Kansas City native, he brings a classic BBQ pedigree to his smoking. We picked up the small family dinner, which included pulled pork, ribs, brisket and German sausage. Every item was smoked to perfection. The rib meat fell right off the bones. I am a bbq lover and in 65 years have had the best and worst. Smoke Ridge is the absolute real deal. The sides, red potato salad and bbq beans, were delicious. Don't let the plague doom this bbq paradise. Order and pick up, you will not be sorry! We can't wait to eat in. I always feel if you're going to review some thing you should be honest. I was at a mustang event, and this barbecue place came out and catered the event. It had a selection of hotdog with chili, pulled pork sandwich, and brisket and ribs. I noticed that nobody was ordering the ribs May because it was the most expensive thing on the item not sure, but I looked around and I could not see one person who had ribs but I was the guy that said heck with it. I'll go ahead and try it because it smells good, so when I'm waiting in line, I said so I get ribs and potato salad and the woman said yes. So I was I was waiting for my ribs. Another woman brought me my ribs and it was just ribs no sides I said, where is my potato salad she says you don't get them you only get ribs and I said that's not what the person said at the front she said sorry that's all it comes with, I did some research and contacted the owner. His name is John. He called me back to figure out what was going on and I explain the situation he went into all kinds of antics about how much it cost him for potatoes. He makes the potato salad homemade cost points how much things cost to make money etc. etc., I told him that's not the point all I'm looking for is I'm sorry come on down and will go ahead and give you a free sandwich or even some potato salad that we promised you. All he did was argue with me and he said, well, how do I know that she said that. I told him I'm a busy guy I'm not gonna spend two days trying to track you down for potato salad that's worth $.25. He continue to argue with me instead of saying you know what I'm sorry we said that we made a lot of money at that event, I'm sorry my employee made a mistake. I'll let you know where my next events going to be and will go ahead and get you a sandwich a free drink a shoeshine anything to make up for me spending that much money plus giving a nice tip and I couldn't get a side, he then got frustrated with me because he couldn't admit his mistake and he hung up on me. I would never ever go to this place with ownership that doesn't care about his customers. Ridiculous really. This $.50 worth of potato salad has cost me time just typing this message lol. Unfortunately, I have to say we will NEVER be giving this place our business EVER again. The food was amazing and our waitress was sweet, so you may wonder...why a 1 star review? Well we had our two little kids with us, 3 and 1 year respectively, and our one year old had thrown a handful of food remnants on the ground...as toddlers do. And the man who I can only assume is the owner came by, took my sons highchair away and loudly said "good lord!". I laughed it off at first thinking he was joking, but clearly he wasn't as he stormed off pissed. I picked up the food (which I was going to do prior to leaving anyways....we always clean up after our kids). And then my older son, 3, was stirring his ice water with a spoon, not making a mess or anything, and the same dickhead man came back and said "you done with this?!" And took my sons water. It was a very unpleasant and rude experience. I will now slam this douchebag and his restaurant any chance I get. Many people can make good food, but the second you are an ungrateful asshole to those paying your income, story over. I'm sure I'll find a new BBQ restaurant who deserves my business. read more

The food was good. The server seemed awkward and like she was walking on eggshells the whole time. It was unsettling from the very start. The train car was clean and empty. The cocktails were awful and when we asked the waitress to return them to the bar she looked scared to death. My friend got up and went to the bar and was addressed with a very rude and defensive bartender. I ordered a simple dirty martini and it had this awful foul taste. There olive juice was god awful, and there "squeeze the ginger" drink tasted like triple sec zero ginger or gin flavor. There cocktail menu looks delicious but there ingredients are not what they advertise. We had to pay for the drinks and we couldn't even drink them they were so bad. Get the food skip the drinks! We had been here once before and loved the Bbq, but the owners appear to rebranded to Track Side Pizza. They use their smoked meats on their pizzas, the pizza crust is thin, and cooked on an outdoor pizza oven. The pizzas were great! Our family had 3 different pizzas and we like them all. They have a large selection, can wait to go back and try more. They also have a large craft cocktail menu, their drinks are some of the best in the valley. They have an outdoor patio and service was really good. We'll definitely be back! read more

Overall extremely delicious! I always get the grand junction which is brisket, sausage and pulled pork and that comes with two pieces of Texas toast. My fiancé gets a full rack of ribs. All in which are delicious and juicy. There hasn't been a time that we went there and had bad meat. A tip though, to go earlier in the day to get fresh off the smoker! It would be 5 stars but they put the Texas toast under the meat which causes it to get super soggy and their Mac and cheese is super dry. read more

We ordered the "special" - 3 tacos/ beans/ salsa AND the brisket bowl - The tacos were beautiful- chucked full of pulled pork with a cilantro lime slaw- black beans on the side and yummy homemade salsa... My brisket bowl was overflowing with tender slowly smoked flavorful brisket over warm jalapeño Mac and cheeeeeeeese!!!! WHAAAAAT???? Spectacular Chelsie was our server she recommended a new starter- warm baguette served with their own concoction of lemon zest/ fresh garlic/ olive oil/ balsamic vinegar and their secret seasoning..... ummmm just get it... you can thank me later... I love that they were able to use the sweet old train that has been on Sprague for years and it's very cozy and fun inside- Outdoor seating now...Full bar up front by the engine... love love LOVED it all!!! Pretty good BBQ. German sausage was excellent! Smoked Deviled eggs were also delicious. We had jalapeño macaroni and cheese could have been a bit more moist but nonetheless, it was good. We also had the cilantro lime coleslaw and I think this needed more flavor, perhaps more lime or something couldn't pin point what it needed but again, it wasBrisket was of course very moist and flavorful. We have been here a few times, it's definitely our favorite BBQ. I had the birria tacos today, they were fabulous.

I normally cook our Thanksgiving meal but this year we changed it up and I took the day off letting SmokeRidge BBQ feed us. We ordered the to-go dinner of a smoked Turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and subbed in jalapeño Mac n cheese. To be honest, I was nervous having someone else cook our meal as I am actually a pretty good cook. It was amazing! The Turkey was super juicy and I have no idea how they made the potatoes so fluffy and light. Everything was delicious, had a home cooked taste, and we'll definitely do it again! read more

So full disclosure I did get my food through UberEats... that being said I did get the completely wrong order and Uber did take care of that. But, let's talk about the food, the order I got had mac and cheese, coleslaw, brisket and bread and BBQ sauce. The Mac and Cheese is about the most flavorless thing I have eaten in my adulthood and this is coming from someone eats Kraft Mac n Cheese fairly often, it's labeled as jalapeño mac and cheese but I would be lying if I said there was any hint of that. Now the brisket... whatever they are using to smoke their meats needs to be re-evaluated, it seriously tasted like I was eating cigarettes like Bertha from Darker than Black, terrible just... why? The sauce, the pinnacle of what makes a BBQ joint sink or swim tastes like a chunky version if McDonald's. The bread, tasted like texas toast and was pretty good. The coleslaw though, some of the best I have ever had, nice and cool and crisp with a nice snap to it. All in all, for the $20-30 a single person would drop here for an order it is probably better spent most anywhere else. I love Spokane Valley and we need more great restaurants but this one isn't it. read more
