Parking was tight in the small lot behind the building, but we were able to find a spot. It is in downtown Alpharetta so this is to be expected. There is a take-out counter to your left when you enter by the bar. Extra utensils, napkins, and wet naps are available for you to grab on your way out. We ordered the following: Mojo Smoked Wings ($13) Burnt Ends Plate - two sides ($17) Texas Holy Trinity - four sides and Texas Toast ($30) & decided on the following sides: Sweet Potatoes Potato Salad (2) Mac & Cheese Cole Slaw Corn Pudding Texas Toast The food was phenomenal. The sausages were both great. The burnt ends are the best we have had - ever. So smokey and sweet. The wings were really nice too. They were both sweet and spicy and the blue cheese it was served with was so tasty. We were so very pleased with all of the meats to be honest. The sides were good overall, some lacked some seasoning though. The mac and cheese was great but needed salt. The only one we probably would not get again would be the coleslaw. And I normally love coleslaw. This one lacked flavor so it just tasted like wet cabbage. The corn pudding was nice - I loved the jalapeño in it (not spicy at all though). Absolutely get some of the texas toast. It came with the Texas Holy Trinity and it was so so good. The sweet potatoes would have been amazing with a topping to provide some texture, but the taste was perfect just as it was. If you like potato salad this one will be no exception. The addition of bacon made it different. Hubby loved it. We will totally be back. There is so much on the menu we want to try. I haven drive by this restaurant many times in the past. On a Saturday night, it's fairly challenging to find parking. Once inside the restaurant, we were greeted quickly. There was live music playing to the left on the bar side. We sat in the dining room. Abigail, our server, greeted us with a smile and made eye contact. She served our beverages promptly. We waited 12 minutes for our entrees. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich with mac & cheese on the side. The brisket was hot and flavorful. I enjoyed trying both types of BBQ sauce on the sandwich. I had dinner here on a Friday (10/14/22) as we were able to walk in with a party of 5 without a reservation with only a short wait for a table. Smokejack BBQ has your standard BBQ meats and plates, served on metal trays covered in paper and several BBQ sauces to accompany everything. Our server was very friendly (Liam) and when he didn't know the answer to a question would make sure to go find someone who did. For food, we all shared: *SJ Queso & Chips + pulled pork - not great should skip and focus on bbq *The Jack: Pulled Pork, Burnt Ends, Smoked Chicken (1/4 lb each), 1/2 Rack Pork Ribs, Choice of 4 Sides & 2 Slices of Texas Toast *Sides: Brunswick stew, potato salad w/bacon, cucumber salad, Mac & cheese I really enjoyed the ribs. The meat was tender and easily came off the bone. I also thought the jalapeño sausage was nice and juicy with just the right amount of spice. I really like this BBQ spot. I loved the collards and I don't like everyone's collards! The potato salad was good but not as good as mine. The cole slaw, macaroni and ribs with the Memphis rub was decent. K really liked the burnt ends. If I was to order meat, I would get the brisket again and I really like the bbq sauce with it. I also love the Texas toast. We had sweet tea and I wanted to try the desserts, but didn't get to this time. I'm very confused by the glowing reviews. I ordered ribs and chicken and there is no way either saw a smoker or grill...maybe a gas grill. The meat didn't even leave a bbq smell on my fingers. I have no idea what took me so long to write this review. If you haven't tried this place....what are you waiting for?! I live ITP but had some family in town and we wanted to try something new. It was so well worth the drive. When I tell you this was the best dining experience I've had in a long time...omg! We went on a Saturday evening and was seated fairly quickly. I remember even before ordering our drinks, I looked over at a couple next to us and both of their faces were dang near IN the plates. Every. Single. thing was good. We had the queso and loaded fries as an appetizer. The queso was a bit cold , but they immediately rectified the situation and quickly brought out more. The manager came out and profusely apologized. Our waitress was the bomb dot com, I think her name was Rachel. My niece got her leg stuck in the high chair and our waitress sprung into action to help us get her out then she walked with her around the restaurant to soothe her. She also let me change my order somewhat last minute without any issues! The prices are super reasonable, the atmosphere is great, food awesome and service even better. The food here was really good. I would definitely come back to this place. The Mac and cheese was nice and creamy, the smoked-chicken was great, the sliced turkey had really great flavor and the beef brisket was good as well. I pretty much overall enjoyed my dinner and so did my dinner date. The dessert was okay. I got a key lime pie but I wouldn't order it again. It wasn't bad but it just wasn't something I'd get here again. The on down aide was that they don't offer many flavors of bbq like other bbq places. They have 2 flavor on the table. The interior is much bigger than expected, plus a covered patio in the back to supplement the sidewalk umbrella tables in the front. The decor was pleasant and welcoming, as were the attentive and friendly staff. We had no trouble getting a seat despite it being a busy and sunny spring day with a farmer's market across the street to draw in people. We skipped appetizers since I ordered "The Jack" sampler with two types of ribs, burnt ends, pulled pork, and chicken. The generous portions more than justify the premium price, and it's actually a great deal since we got several meals out of the leftovers! It comes with four sides and I chose the fries, corn pudding, mac & cheese, and coleslaw. These were also of nice proportion. The fries were seasoned and fairly crispy. The slaw is the creamy (versus vinegar) version and fresh and light and just a hint of sweetness to pair well with their excellent BBQ sauce. The corn pudding was also nicely sweet, and the mac & cheese had nice big al dente noodles in a cheese sauce with a good flavor. The Jack also includes their house made dill pickles which were fantastic. I'd buy a jar of these if they were offered. The burnt ends were flavorful and in their delicious KC sauces and was my favorite of the meats. I put the white Bama sauce on the pulled pork. This sauce didn't have the strong horseradish zing of the typical Alabama style white BBQ sauce, but still a nice flavor. The pulled pork was tender and flavorful, if not as strong of a smokiness as I'd hoped. My wife commented that her wood-grilled veggies had more smokiness. I got the ribs with a dry rub that was a nice flavor with a balance of sweet and heat. The meat wasn't as tender as I've had elsewhere, but still decent. Although I typically don't go for BBQ chicken, this very generous portion was tender and I won't have a problem finishing off the leftovers. read more

I then started to pay more attention to it and not only were they rude, but they were very inappropriate with there employees. The food was alright.. a little cold but tolerable. I will not be returning due to the fact i have zero tolerance for being rude and inappropriate with employees. This did not make me comfortable in the slightest. I catered lunch for my customers from here and it was a hit! The house salad was fresh and they provided a few different salad dressings. The pulled pork and pulled Chicken were tender and flavorful but the BBQ sauce made it even better. I preferred the smokejack BBQ sauce over the carolina one. The Mac n cheese was nothing special but still good. The corn pudding was AMAZING! I'm not a fan of Cole slaw but everyone else enjoyed it. And of course the banana pudding was soooo good. I was craving BBQ so my friend and I decided to check out Smokejack BBQ at downtown Alpharetta. We came around 5:30 pm so it wasn't pack at all and got seated immediately. I think prime dinner time on weekend is around 7pm and that's when the restaurant bring in performers for dinner patrons We ordered a full rack of ribs and beef brisket with sides of mac n cheese, pickled cucumber, Cole slaw and cornbread. For beef brisket, you can choose the option of whether you want a leaner cut or the more fatty marbles cut and I chose the latter. It was smoky and amazing. The flavors are great and it really satisfied my BBQ cravings. The rack of rib in the photo is actually a full rack; I was confused at first at the size until we lifted off to see that the other half of the rack is underneath. We walked in at 7:30 on a Saturday night and were quoted a 25 minute wait time. Not bad at all, but we saw 2 seats at the bar and decided to cozy up. I started with the frozen blueberry moonshine cocktail and it gave what it was supposed to give - it tasted great and packed a punch. We definitely ordered too much food, but everything was delicious. We had a full rack of Memphis style ribs (dry rub) with collard greens and French fries. We also ordered the brisket meal with baked beans and collard greens. We were able to finish the brisket meal, which we ordered mixed (lean and marled meat) and were only able to eat half of the ribs. They were tender and meaty. We had an early dinner here on a Saturday and it was so good! We could tell this is a popular place as it was already pretty crowded at 5pm. Thankfully we didn't have a wait, but if we came any later there would have been a wait for sure. They have a great beer and liquor selection for drinks, and a perfect selection of barbeque. We started with the fried pickles, and they were delicious! Highly recommend. For entrees we got the special which was the chicken salad sandwich and it was AMAZING. I love the ribs, brisket, and jalapeño sausage... all are very delicious... the brisket and ribs are smokey, well seasoned, and the meat is tender and not fatty. Sausage has a kick but isn't overly spicy. The sides hold up as well... I'm a big fan of their potato salad and baked beans, but the mac-and-cheese is above average as well. Everything came out relatively quick and tasted great. The Pretzel with Beer Cheese made for a perfect appetizer - the pretzel was soft and savory, while the pairing with the beer cheese was exquisite. Both the Brisket and Pulled Pork were wonderful, but the Burnt Ends stood out in a class of its own. The waitstaff were very generous with sauces and bread, I really enjoyed the sides here as well. The Mac & Cheese was incredible, and the Collard Greens were equally delicious. On my next visit, I will definitely try some of the other sides, including the Baked Beans and Potato Salad. I absolutely love smokwjack BBQ and ways feel like I'm family when I'm there with my family and friends. Tonight I witnessed one of the waitresses have to indure something very cruel from a customer and our table heard the whole thing (from the customers mostly being loud). They had gotten there food out and had eaten pretty quickly it was a table of about 6 or 7 including a child so im guessing the check was rou hey around 70 to 100 dollars given they each got a whole meal including apps platters etc and the kids meals are 8 or 9bfollars I believe and adult meals range anywhere from 12 to 14 15 so it adds up. I've had a group of 9 and the bill was around 100 but that was plus drinks and well worth it ! Excellent food here and service is always great and fast. Anyways the waitress was very kind asked them what they needed and checked on them frequently running back and fourth for there refills etc. I heard her ask if they would be interested in desert since they enjoyed there meals so much and I assume they declined since she didn't bring any back. I saw the waitress bring the check to the table assuming they were done (guessing here) since half of the plates were cleared and the rest empty. I then heard the older lady at the table loudly say that it was rude to put the check on the table and to take it away immediately because they were not finished.( literal crumbs were left if anything ) Then a man said something along the lines of in America do they bring g the checks out early is that a normal thing im honestly want to know or something g like that. The other man tried to speak up to say he was the one who asked for the check so he could cover it for everyone I think it was supposed to be a surprise thats why she handed it to him no one was listening though... she was already being braided at this point and called the word racist I heard multiple times. I heard the waitress give the best answer she could which is the same one I would of given which is I apologized I assumed since the plates were just about empty you would be ready for the check and the other gentlemen signaled me to bring it to him specifically. At the end of meals we usually just leave the check and there's no rush just whenever your ready to pay. I don't know exactly what he said next but I did hear him call her acting racist towards them. She looked horrified and offered if there was anything she could do and she did not mean to offend anyone. They said no you've done enough. She walked away and I heard them saying wow she is racist look how high are Bill is leave nothing for her she doesn't deserve it. I cannot imagine how that felt but watching that happen to that girl just trying to do her job the best she could really broke my heart. And then to top it all off possibly leaving her 0% tip if anything as they said proudly as she walked away. She did her job she did everything by the book she was kind. I don't understand people like this I've been coming to smoke jack for as long as I can remember and that was a first I feel so bad for the waitress and I hope the staff knows it wasn't her fault those people just didn't want to tip or were really ignorant. I didn't hear her say anything but nice words even after the insults and even we tried to say she did a good job to her too amd she said thank you but she was very humble and didn't gossip. I thought that was very professional of her giving the circumstances. Hopefully if they come back in she won't have to serve them, or smoke jack will refuse to serve them. No one deserves that. I see that girl all the time and she works her hardest to make people happy and have a good dining experience. Just wanted to leave a review in case they call and try to slander her or something. Came here for a birthday dinner for my son in law. He's a fan of brisket and I have heard some great, word of mouth reviews about this place. We arrived and we're promptly greeted and asked how many and made aware there is a 20-30 minute wait. We went outside to wait as it was a nice day out and they had tables outside to sit and wait at. Along with the tables, they have a corn hole game set up outside. They have a window that you can order from the bar while you wait, which is fantastic! We all ordered the frozen blueberry moonshine drink and just as we sat to wait, we got a text that our table was ready. The wait was much quicker than 20-30 minutes, so that was an added bonus. Got seated and our server came to the table right away and took our appetizer order. We already had drinks which were super tasty. Those blueberries on top have a kick to them. We had the fried pickles and the queso with the pulled pork. And wow.....the queso with the pulled pork was a blast of flavor that I wasn't expecting. I ordered a combo plate with sausage, Turkey, burnt ends and pulled pork. My fav items were the burnt ends and pulled pork, so will definitely get those two when I go back. Was way too full to order dessert but I saw the banana pudding going to a table near us and I will have to save some room for that next time. During the winter weather we headed down town to get out of the house. This was not our first choice, but I am glad it worked out! Not your average BBQ joint! I was really excited and surprised by the menu! Not a huge BBQ fan so I was worried I was going to starve :) however deciding on what to get was tougher than I anticipated. Very friendly staff along with a very nice beer - bourbon - whiskey selection! I decided on the Tuna Sandwich - my only complaint is that it needs a different bread type!
