Platter- brisket and ribs Sides- corn, mac n cheese, fried okra, fries
Thao T.

Knocked my SOCKS off! Love this place for bbq. We got 3 plates. All with brisket and ribs. Sides we got were creamy corn, fries, mac n cheese, and coleslaw. Everything else was super duper good! They had an assortment of hot sauces too. Service was great. The place was nice and clean. Love the signs they have up. Will definitely be coming back! One of our top bbq places now.

Visiting from out of town and looking for a quick bite in the neighborhood. Delicious food, great service. Highly recommend!

Two meat platter: Brisket and pulled pork with sides of cowboy beans and mac & cheese.

First visit here, and I was looking forward to the food as I love me some good barbecue. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall and is tiny inside with very limited inside dining. I was here for lunch on Saturday. You order at the counter, which has a video screen above the counter with the menu items. I went with a plate even though it is fairly pricey ($20 Inc tax). One of the nice things about the one item plate is you can cut the 1/2 pound weight of the meat in half and get two different meats at a 1/4 pound each. I went with the pulled pork and the brisket with sides of mac & cheese and cowboy beans. The brisket was flavorful albeit a tad fatty, and it had a very smoky flavor. The pulled pork was served in an unappetizing, looking wadded up ball, but overall had good flavor. They have one barbecue sauce, and it was very average tasting. I didn't find the mac & cheese appetizing at all. It was not creamy, but very oily and I only ate a couple bites of it. On the other hand, the cowboy beans were fantastic! The meal also comes with a few homemade pickles and onions, and they are a very nice pairing with the meal. To sum up my experience, I felt it was good, but not great barbecue. Aside from their awesome cowboy beans and homemade pickle garnish, the rest is forgettable. Only offer one sauce and it's very average. There's virtually no seating inside and the menu is a bit expensive.

Quote on the wall.

Had lunch there the other day and it was wonderful. I had the brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese as my side. Unique pasta used for the Mac and cheese but it worked very well. Loved the atmosphere in the restaurant they have community seating which enables you to meet your neighbors while you are eating your meal. Had a very wonderful conversation with the couple next to me during my lunch. Stopped by also to set up for the Annual Beaver Toyota and American Legion Post 307 annual Armed Forces BBQ. This a wonderful way to show support for our Military. This BBQ does it right do not miss an opportunity to eat at this restaurant.

Food is fantastic! Tried the birra tacos, brisket sandwich, side dish of corn, and banana pudding. Everything is delicious. It's a casual, small restaurant. Service was great. The owner came around asking if we are doing okay and chatted with us.

I wrote a review several years ago. I live about 40 miles from Socks and every time we are close we stop in and get our BBQ fix. We think they excel on their sides. I had the brisket chili and my wife had fries okra. Never disappoints-great job!!

Ask the Community - Socks Love Barbecue

Is any of the BBQ gluten free? thanks!

All the meats are gluten free.

Do the sides have meat in them (collards, beans, corn)?

Collards, Cowboys, and Chili have meat. Coleslaw, Mac, and Corn do not.

I've never been before, but I see ribs in the website photos and in the Yelp reviews, but not on any of the menus(website or Yelp menu photos).…

Not sure if you made it there yet or not but the ribs are still on the menu but they do go quick!

Are your ribs dry rub? Like Memphis style or St. Louis style? Just trying to find ribs in the area that aren't wet. Thanks!

They’re cut St. Louis style. Dry rubbed

So they're only open 15 hours a week? That can't be permanent

For now, yes. I love my wife and kids more than I love my restaurant. But don’t be fooled, my staff put in 60+ hours/week with catering and restaurant prep. Hope to open for dinner soon. Not in the cards for now.

We sat upstairs with a group of ladies playing mah jong which was cool to see. The host Gabby was nice, after greeting us we were seated in a booth and began looking at the menu. Our server was Taylor, who was friendly, helpful, and really good at her job. Never needed anything bc she was great! I started with one of their blackberry ciders, my brother got a sour. For an app we ordered a giant pretzel and it was delicious. Whole grain mustard and gooey cheese were served on the side. Hard not to want to eat more than one. For entrees I went with a Reuben with a side of tater tots. The Reuben was tasty, they shred the corned beef up so it's easier to eat, and you get consistent bites every time. Their 1000 island dressing is KILLER. It's definitely homemade and I ordered a side for my tots. Nephew got the salmon BLT with sweet potato fries, and my brother got the Philly cheesesteak with tots as well. Once he tried my suggestion of dipping in the dressing, he got a side as well. The GM Andrew came by and checked on us. Service level is great here, made us feel welcome and happy we were in here. Since I'm technically on the clock I had to head out after two ciders. I could see myself being here for hours, if I'm not careful. Support small owned businesses! Thanks to the team and especially Taylor for a great lunch today/

They do not brew their own beer (aka no beer flights) so not sure why they are called a brewery. This felt more like a restaurant. There were tons of seats, and it was very nice! The outdoor seating is downstairs (no elevator). The drink menu needs descriptions, not just names. The drinks we did have were great (strong & not overpriced). The old-fashioned had regular ice not the large square or ball ice like most old-fashioned. We did send the fish & chips back because the fish wasn't crispy. It was soggy & fishy. We did enjoy the house chips and atmosphere. We would give them another try.

No problem with parking, we got a spot right up front. The menu is pretty great, offering meals as well as biscuit breakfast sandwiches with an array of sides. Beth was at the front, was really helpful and patient with us since we had never been here before. Some quick questions and we were off. It's set up as fast casual. You order at the front, they provide you with a number and then we have the food delivered to our table when it's piping hot. I got the feast plate, which came with: 2 eggs (over easy), country fried steak, hash brown casserole, a biscuit, and a side of gravy. You could choose other options but this worked for me. The meal was really great- gravy wasn't overly salty, and the hash brown casserole was epic. The biscuit seems heavy when you pick it up, but it's light and fluffy inside. Country fried steak was excellent texture on the outside. Like a shell! I saw they have a hot sauce bar, and my family got other stuff- a breakfast burrito, grits, country ham, all delicious. Midway thru the meal they were putting out bottles of bbq sauce for their flip at 11 to bbq offerings. On the table I noted they had a $60 bbq deal with two meats, two quarts of sides. Serves four. Also, they have a program where you can buy a meal for someone who needs it later. There's a tree by the front that holds coupons for people to come and eat when they need it the most. Kindness goes a long way. After the meal I had a quick chat with Nicholas, Beth up front about how great the experience was, and I wanted to thank Fawn for running the food out our way. You can bet I'll be back, not just to try the bbq, but also to have a biscuit breakfast sandwich next time. Support small owned businesses! My apologies about no pics, I saw my food and immediately jumped in to dig in because it was so good looking. Thank you to the team here for a great family breakfast with out of towners.
