It was quite good. I really liked the variety of options on the menu, especially the unique items you don't find at every BBQ joint. The space itself is new and very nice, clean, with plenty of seating and a great outdoor area. Everyone working there was also very friendly and pleasant. I ordered a sandwich called the Flipsicustioner, which had brisket, cheddar jalapeño sausage, BBQ sauce, and slaw. The brisket was top-notch--tender, juicy, and with a nice bark. The fat was rendered perfectly and practically melted in your mouth. The sausage was excellent too; you could really taste the jalapeño and cheddar. They were generous with the meat portions as well, so I left very full. My only critique was the pickles. They lacked crunch and flavor, it almost tasted like a cucumber dipped in vinegar and placed on the plate. Other than that, everything was wonderful and I will definitely return. They also had a lot of good options for kids and some unique sides. read more

I have been here a few times. Always want to try something different. Also my friend, Bob is a big fan! This time I took mom! The pork rinds are served hot, so good, but maybe a dip with them would be nice. Always love the pineapple soda - no high fructose syrup, bonus. I got the loaded fries with brisket. Looked good except for that huge scoop of sour cream in the middle. Not a fan! They offered to remake it, mom ate that section. She got smoked wings - really liked them. Ordered some pulled pork to take home to dads. Also some banana pudding! Ambiance is very simple, but comfortable. Will have to bring my friend, LA here to sample the beers - she would get a kick out of the bourbon one! Will be back, will just make sure to say no sour cream please! read more

We tried marbled brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, macncheese, and cowboy beans-all PHENOMENAL and if you're familiar with Texas bbq, the brisket here is comparable to Terry Black's, which is the best!! The food at Jack's Feed Store for some reason is significantly better than Smokejack's even though they carry their BBQ. We also tried their key lime pie & banana pudding here and I'm not basing the rating on this because both were a let down-the banana pudding tasted watered down LITERALLY flavorless, and the pie was just fine, also not too much flavor was coming through. Regardless, the food is great and we will be back. read more

This restaurant is such a BBQ gem!! It's like a smaller Smokejack which is right down the street. It's very clean inside the restaurant and they have a beautiful patio area. You order your meal at the front counter and they give you a number to pick up your food when it's ready. I ordered the Texas Reubenstein on Texas toast instead of Rye and it was fantastic! It was so juicy and came with one side. I ordered the Cucumber salad which was also very tasty! My husband ordered the Pork Cubano and that was fantastic as well!! We were impressed and definitely look forward to coming back. Parking is free and I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone of all ages! read more

I'm a lover of good BBQ, and an even bigger lover of great sides to pair with BBQ. I had passed Jacks Feed Store plenty of times on my way to other destinations and have always wanted to stop in. The location is great with a decent amount of easy parking to get into. The storefront itself is quite picturesque and the exterior landscaping is quite clean. They offer interior as well as exterior seating of different types and for different party sizes. The service on our visit was really good, with staff going as far as giving their options on items and an insight to portion sizes (after informing them that it was our first time there). Jacks does not have loyalty/reward options at this time, but hopefully they may in the future. My husband and I decided to stop in simply because I had a hankering for Mashed Sweet Potatoes. This place definitely delivered (and then some) when it came to satisfying my BBQ sides craving. We ordered a few items to share: The "Tex Reubenstein," Cajun Sausage, Beef Tips, Sweet Mashed Potatoes, Macaroni & Cheese, and Jalapeno Cream Style Corn. My favorite meat was the Cajun Sausage. It was plenty filling and perfectly charred. My favorite side (as expected) was the Mashed Sweet Potatoes. I loved these so much that my husband and I ordered two bigger sides of it to take home for another day. Jacks offers 3 sizes for sides: 8oz, 16oz, and 32oz which make these awesome for a pair on date night or even a family of 6. While the pricing can get a bit high the more you add to your order, I will say that to me - it was worth it! read more

Great spot for either quick pickup or grabbing one of their few tables. You order at the counter, find a seat, and they bring the food out when it's ready -- super easy. The pork rinds came out first, warm and crispy -- a perfect start. My wife loved her burnt ends with jalapeño cream corn. I had the Flipsecutioner (chopped brisket, smoked sausage, and slaw) and it was massive -- so good I couldn't even finish it. We originally came here because the comments about the wings. Assuming because it was a BBQ place they would be smoked they weren't. A mix of a mild buffalo and yellow bbq sauce. I wish I had a picture of the huge two hairs on my wings. The Mac and cheese was cheesy but needed more flavor. The burnt Ends were a step above Arby's steak nuggets not sure if they were on a grill or a smoker in the back, the loaded fries with the brisket was honestly the best thing we had, it was bursting with flavors. We've always loved Smokejack but sometimes decide to go elsewhere just because parking is such a mess downtown. However Jacks Feed Store is the best of both worlds! Same delicious food (and more) plus parking! My husband and I stopped by for lunch on a Tuesday and they were decently busy. I ordered the Cuban with fries and my husband got a jalapeño sausage, pulled pork, and slaw. The Cuban was huge and one of the best I've ever had. Fries were crispy and good. Husband had all great things to say about his too. We also ordered the banana pudding for dessert. It's quite a big portion and they keep it chilled (unlike some other local spots). Love the selection of draft and canned beers available! Overall this is an awesome addition to the Alpharetta area. read more

I don't like BBQ. I really don't. This place though is fantastic! The brisket chili is the bomb. I drive by and fantasize about it. No lie. Burnt ends are just as delicious. I tried the brisket last week and I loved that too. Sounds crazy what I am about to say but the pit master salad? It is awesome. The fried wontons are perfectly crisped and love the ranch dressing. Everything so far has been awesome. I have looked thru the menu and plan to try the brisket barria tacos next. Inside is nice and everyone one is nice inside. Oh! We stopped in on a rainy Saturday for a late lunch not knowing this is Smoke Jacks Que. just like the original, it does not disappoint. The brisket, pork, turkey and chicken was all very good. My favorite Burnt ends is also here. The inside is very clean and organized. It's a quick serve concept with very helpful and friendly folks. Cute new BBQ spot from the owners of Smokejack. Smokejack is our favorite BBQ place so this is a nice addition to Alpharetta. It has a few unique menu items like birria tacos, jalapeño corn, broccoli salad and other ala carte sides. It's a different set up where you order at the counter and is great for takeout. We ordered some delicious turkey and their sweet potatoes which we love at Smokejack. This location has a nice outdoor patio section and an area to buy homemade pickles, rub, relish and other items I want to try. I'm excited to have another spot for my BBQ fix in Alpharetta. read more

I've been going to Smokejack for the past 18 years or so but the downtown Alpharetta parking situation has gotten so horrible that it's kept me away. I was so excited to get Smokejack bbq in a location where parking is easy and free and convenient. Unlike Smokejack this is counter service/fast casual, with indoor and outdoor seating. I got the Tex Rubenstein with turkey, a side of jalapeño corn, and a blueberry moonshine. Everything was great, but for the price I do wish the sandwiches came with a side rather than having it a la carte. I'll be back! read more

Ordered a pound of pulled pork, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. You can skip the Mac and cheese, but the potato salad was great as was the pulled pork which I indulged in for several nights. I placed an order online and it was ready when I picked it up. This spot is basically SmokeJack in DT Alpharetta. They offer a more condensed version of Smokejack's menu items, give or take. I stopped by for lunch and ordered smoked brisket, jalapeño cream corn, and the broccoli salad. Brisket: Phenomenal. I find Smokejack's brisket down the street to be pretty dry. Not the case here--well seasoned, juicy, and so tender. Yum. Corn: Pretty good. Could have used more seasoning and jalapeño flavor. But good with a little salt. Broccoli: I wanted something green. It was just OK, but I don't recommend it. Kind of bland and the onions are tart! The service was great. The employees are tremendously friendly and helped me with ordering! We visited Jack's on a recent Friday night for our first time. Very impressive menu, lots of choices for the meats, sides and sandwiches. I was with a group of 4 guys so we decided to order big. We had the Holy Trinity, which included 1⁄2 Rack Pork Ribs, 1⁄2 lb Brisket, 2 Smoked Sausage Links (1 Cajun , 1 Jalapeño Cheddar), Pickled Onions & Jalapeños, Choice of 4 Sides, & 2 Slices of Texas Toast. We also ordered The Jack, which included Pulled Pork, Burnt Ends, Smoked Chicken (1⁄4 lb each), 1⁄2 Rack Pork Ribs, Choice of 4 Sides, & 2 Slices of Texas Toast For sides we chose Mac & Cheese, Jalapeno Smoked Corn, Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Collard Greens. All sides were very tasty! Out of the meat selection, my favorites were the Burnt Ends, Smoked Chicken, Pulled Pork and Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage. In my opinion the brisket and ribs were a little overcooked but everything else was fantastic. We topped off the meal (as if everything listed wasn't enough!) with Banana Pudding, which was excellent. Fresh bananas, crisp wafers and tasty whipped cream. Jack's had a great selection of adult beverages both in the can and on tap. Service was fast and on point. Overall a very fun tasty meal with some flashbacks to meals I've had in Austin. Phenomenal bbq spot! Been coming here with my girlfriend and we make it a weekly habit to eat. Service is great everyone is nice staff ask how pleased we are. It feels warm and inviting. Ambiance is nice its never too packed always enough seats. Love these kind of lowkey spots but its nice to see families sit down and enjoy their meals. Tried most of the menu brisket is hands down the best, wings are 10/10 the chili bowl is also great on the cold days. Awesome place and hope they can stay forever. read more

The burnt ends (what we came for) were substandard, and we missed some of the sides (fries) available at the parent location. Except when you really want this excellent food served in a hole in the wall BBQ joint! So take my ambiance 3.5 stars with a small measure of delicious food and sauce and make your own decision. They were not friendly and acted as if we were an inconvenience when ordering food. The BBQ was excellent! The sauce we tried was on the sweet side and was delicious. The ribs were fantastic and I'd highly recommend them. The restaurant is simple, clean and very comfortable. It's counter service but it works. My only complaint is that my credit card number was intercepted at checkout. It wasn't busy so I'm not exactly sure how it happened. Been there several times and wanted to try different menu items before writing a review. The good: Service, staff is friendly and food comes out quickly. Fatty brisket sandwich is tasty and big portion. Potatoe salad is good with bacon mixed in. The atmosphere is nice and clean with TV's to watch sports. The bad: Prices are steep and sandwiches don't come with a side. $15+ and sides are about 6+. Looking at around $25 for lunch. The burnt ends were very disappointing. Six large pieces and three were all fat. Couldn't eat. The other three were as tough as nails. Eating chunks of leather. All in all it is a decent place.
