Rita is fantastic. She is an Esco icon. Have used her services for many years. I have always been very satisfied!

My new smog spot. Quiet, peaceful, easy to get in & out without running over a pedestrian or e-bike. Rita was professional & delightful to do business with. I recommend this place 100%. Even if it's out of your way... still worth it. Prices are on point, I usually tip the good ones so I recommend paying a little extra. We don't want to end up like LA & start losing good businesses. read more

Awesome! I was seen as soon as I pulled my car up. Rita runs her own business, she's so nice, and it feels great to support a woman in a predominantly male occupation. I knew I wasn't going to get ripped off like some men have done to me in the past for being a woman. Go support this small business! read more

I've been taking my car to Rita for years. I can count on pure honesty, no hassles. I will not go anywhere else, period!

I've seen Rita for two Smog Tests now and every time I go in I'm impressed with her customer service and knowledge. I've had a great experience and will see Rita for my next Smog test! Thank you Rita! read more

Rita is such a pleasure! She really knows her stuff and was able to get me in and out quickly on my lunch break. And she is a big time cat lover who takes care of all the strays around her auto shop. How can you not like someone who is so kind? read more

Can't say enough about Rita - she is super sweet and really knows her stuff. We've been to see her multiple times with multiple vehicles and she gets us in and out quickly and affordably. We won't go to anyone else! read more

Just had Rita smog my 2007 Chevy Silverado LT Diesel 4X4. I would recommend her services to anyone. She got us right in on our schedule. Quick and efficient and always easy to work with. We love to support a woman in an industry mostly ran by men. Thanks Rita! Rick & Rita read more

Not much to say other than I just appreciated the opportunity to support Rita in her business. She knows her stuff and gets 'er done.

Sweetest soul had me in and out of there on my lunch break! Very inexpensive for smog & why not support a woman in an industry mostly ran by men. Thanks Rita! read more

I was told by several acquaintances to take my car to Rita's for a smog check. My car wouldn't pass the Smog test and so many Mechanics were jerking me around with a high cost repair. I finally went to Rita's Smog Center and was so blessed to be greeted by such a sweet Women. Rita checked my car, told me what the problem was and quoted me a repair price. The price was $600 less than what my mechanic quoted me with smog certificate. God bless Business Owners who still believe in excellent Customer Service AND honesty. I love this Businness Owner Rita!! Please...IF you need to have your car Smogged, GO TO RITA'S ~ read more

I've been going to Rita for years. She is always reliable. She's helpful if there is a problem. I go to see her even though I live in and Encinitas now. Why take a chance when you have such a good thing? All smog stations are NOT created equal. read more

I brought my 1995 BMW in to see Rita yesterday by appointment. She greeted me at my appointment time promptly and took care of business at a very fair price seamlessly. She passed with flying colors. I couldn't be more Happy with the service she provided me. Thank you Rita on a job well done. read more

Rita is the best! She knows her stuff and does not get phased by older or more complicated to smog cars. This is refreshing when so many places these days don't seem to want to touch any but newer cars where all you need to do is plug in a reader to the car's computer. She takes appointments and honors them on time. Do call to make an appointment as she does book up. The conversation is good, and even the price is reasonable! I will be coming here from now on for all smogs. Thanks Rita! read more

Rita is awesome! Went here for the first time to smog my wife's car and it was a very pleasant experience. Normally I dread going to get my cars smogged but Rita made the process very easy. We had a great conversation about cars while she was running the test, and her car is adorable. Absolutely recommend. read more

Been coming to Rita for years, and will continue to make this my only smog shop. She can usually get you in same day, but make sure to call first. She is quick to get a process that none of us like dealing with done in a timely manner. She also gets all the paperwork done with the state electronically so you can pay registration as soon as she completes the smog check. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RITA read more

Rita is the best. I was very happy she didn't have any problem with the size of my crane truck (just make sure your under 12 ft tall) She was able to complete the test quickly with no extras or adders. My dog was sitting in the cab of my truck when without warning Rita needed to jump into the cab .Typically my dog would have removed the first arm , hand , leg or any body part. Not with Rita he only wanted to be her friend . Even my dog Owen thinks she's the best. read more

Trying to get a 1992 Jeep Wrangler through smog in California is not an easy feat. I tried everything. Finally I found Rita, who tested my vehicle, gave solid advice, didn't charge me anything, and recommended a shop that could "fix my car." Smog passed! Highly recommend Rita's no nonsense service and sound advice. read more

First time customer but I'll be back whenever there's a need. Rita is pleasant, professional, and knows her business. I went to two other places with great Yelp reviews to get my check engine light fix because my smog and registration are due in a couple weeks. $800.00 later and my check engine light still shining bright, I've decided to bring it to Rita's to see what they can do to fix my check engine light so I can get my smog and get over this nightmare. They fixed my car (which I didn't even know smog places did maintenance) got my smog and now my car is saved! (and it didn't cost an arm and a leg) My $800.00 worth of repairs had NOTHING to do with my check engine light. Talk about being frustrated and terrified taking my car to a mechanic because I'm a woman. I'm very happy with this place and will bring all my business here. Fair prices and quality work! read more

A friend told us about "Smogs by Rita" last year when we needed our Motorhome smogged. She squeezed our 34' Motorhome into the bay... yanked the engine cover off... tweeked and prodded and fussed and sent us on our way. She is great... really knows what she is doing... and funny too. Headed back today to get my Acura MDX smogged. Only downside is getting through on her phone... but worth the wait. read more

I will not go anywhere else for a smog. Now my family won't go anywhere else as well. This lady knows what she is doing, someone told me that she actually teaches the class for smog licenses. Some places will just fail you and send you on your way, here you will get solid advice on how to proceed. I suggest getting an appointment as she is pretty busy most of the time. read more

What a great first experience I had at Smogs by Rita. She's thorough, friendly and does a truly proper job of smogging your vehicle. Make an appointment and you basically roll right in and are taken care of quickly and professionally. I can't recommend her highly enough! read more

Rita teaches smog classes to other mechanics. She knows what she is doing. She knows what to adjust to make your vehicle pass. Quick tip. Put fresh oil in before bringing it in. Dirty oil make me fail years ago. read more

Rita is awesome!!!!! She explained to us what the five gas readings meant. She was very accomodating for our scheduling. Her customer service was patient and outstanding. My fiance is a mechanic without a five gas machine. She had plenty of opportunities to scam us and overcharge us and did not :) Her integrity is a hard thing to find nowadays.
