Straightforward pricing, better pricing than others I checked, and no wait. Friendly.

Steve was a straight shooter; made it simple and easy. He was able to verify my prius catalytic converter even with the special designed cat shield installed on the car, without putting it on the lift. He had his knee pads and just looked under the car. note for others: if you have a shield and it covers the cat info, then he might need to put it on the lift and charge more. Would be nice to have a coupon here and there, or something for repeat customers, but in the end the process was easy and quick for $50. read more

Fast, very affordable, and no appointment needed! Stopped by SmogNDash today in Walnut Creek and couldn't be happier. Just $50 plus certificates - best price I've found in town by far. Love that they're first-come, first-served. No messing with appointments, just walked in and they took me right away. Whole thing took maybe 20 minutes. Guy was friendly, got it done quick. read more

The owner refused to honor their Web coupon, and refused to perform the smog check on my 2014 GMC Van.

When I needed a smog I looked up who was close and SmogNDash came up. Excellent experience! The tech, Sean was excellent in explaining things and the whole experience was easy, the smog was done quickly and we passed! The price was good compared to the others in Walnut Creek and I've now since recommended them to others. At first I thought they'd be hard to find, but now that I've been there it's easy. They do Smogs and from what I saw when I was there they even do the service for local dealers, exotic cars and even older cars. 10+ experience. read more

Amazing and quick service. Really appreciate the referral there and highly recommend. Pricing was great too!

Highly recommend this place for a smog test. Very fast, friendly and well priced. I will definitely return for my next smog test.

I was very impressed with the fast service here. Despite no appointment there was nobody waiting and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes, the actual test was less than 10 minutes. Such a complete difference between SmogNdash and the one I went to the previous time - Walnut Creek smog: When I went there I had to make an appointment and it still took over a half hour and they spent lots of extra time running my engine for no reason at all and trying to find something that needed fixing but there wasn't. Fortunately just down the street at 2040 North main, up the industrial driveway behind Kevin's noodles house, you will find smogNdash, where for cars made after the year 2000 it is just a quick visual inspection, no BS like I dealt with at Walnut Creek smog where he unnecessarily ran the engine for over 15 minutes trying to work on multiple cars at the same time instead of just having me in and out. Not here, they focus on one car at a time and don't try to create extra work that you don't need. This is the place to go for anybody in this part of town or anywhere around here if you just want the smog test and no BS.. A+++ for smogNdash ! read more

Fast efficient, friendly and very fair price, what more can you ask for in any service business.

Used a coupon i got in the mail and everything was super quick, easy, and very affordable! Not much else to say really, a smog check is a bit of a chore and this felt painless read more

Got me in and out quickly. Cost a little more than another place I considered going, but no regrets!

This was the second place I called for pricing. I was quoted a fair price for a regular SMOG test with the certificate included. Admittedly not easy to find first time and the parking can be limited. I was fortunate to get there ahead of the crowd. Convenient and quick. Very pleased and will go back. read more

Excellent service without a long wait. My car was in and out within 15 minutes! I will continue to bring our cars for smog checks to Smogndas! read more

Really great service at reasonable price. I had changed the battery on my car and so failed the test 2x. They worked w me until I passed in the third try! read more

When driving a foreign, high performance vehicle you must have a dependable, trustworthy and consistent shop to bring your prize, this is that place. My torque converter seal busted out of nowhere, Steve has my car in and started the same-day. Thanks for your swift professionalism Steve and team. I will continue referring customers! read more

Never again. I called to make an appt for last week. I was quoted a price but told them I have one of their MANY coupons. They said they are not honoring coupons due to Covid. Fine, whatever, what else is new with smog places... I scheduled it anyway. I got to their location which is tight with limited parking. I was early but still had to wait well into my appt time. The tech spent 20 minutes doing the actual smog with some kind of remote unit walking back and forth to the garage unit multiple times. 20 minutes for an OBD smog is ridiculous! I came in fine but left with a check engine light on and a failed smog. I just took it to another smog place I've used in the past and its was ~5 minutes with no issues and a PASS. At the very least this place needs to take 'Dash' out of its name and stop publishing coupons. 2 stars instead of 1 because the check engine light could have been a random coincidence but it hadn't come on before or since. read more

A consistent exercise regimen is proper temple maintenance, a biweekly pedicure is adequate phalange maintenance and a smog certification every two years is necessary vehicle maintenance. When I realized it was smog cert time, I wanted to make sure that I found a quick and inexpensive spot to get my precious bambina tested. As always, I turned to the infinite wisdom and degrading humor of Yelp for my intel and investigative research and was not disappointed. Smog 'N Dash was conveniently located, pretty darn cheap and single-handedly manned by a friendly, sweet chap named James who took care of my babe in no time. I stopped by on my lunch break and was in and out within ten to fifteen minutes. You have to enter through the Kevin's Noodle House driveway (to the left of the Noodle House) and meander up, up, and up just a little bit further past a few auto shops. Luckily, the Smog 'N Dash signage and "SMOG TEST HERE!" banners make the navigation effortless. Put your car, heart, cash-money-dollars and smog certification in the hands of a guy who truly values your business and shows his integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction from start to (ten minute!) finish. You'll be glad you did! Thanks again James! read more

Have been using these guys for a few years now. I'm very happy with their service. They always get the job done on a timely manner with a reasonable pricing. I highly recommend them. read more

Have used these guys for a number of years. Very little waiting, good service, attentive people. My car Failed initially but the Tech took time to explain to me why and what needed to be corrected. Got those things done, went back and it Passed. Re-Test was under $25. I recommend this business. read more

I have a 1991 Corvette that always barely passes even though it is completely stock and in perfect tune. These guys took the time to try different gears and speeds on the dyno to see what was most optimal while still adhering to that law. I passed with much greater margins. I will always use this company in the future. Highly recommend. read more

Very happy with this professional service. It only took 15 minutes or so to do the smog. Because the muffler shop I used already told me to drive some miles before smog, everything went smoothly. Highly recommend this service since it saves everyone's time. read more

Least expensive smog check in Walnut Creek especially with their online coupon. Fast, easy service. Just be sure to bring cash as the cheaper price is for cash pay. There's a slight additional fee to use a credit card. read more

Received a last minute smog check an hour before they closed for an incredibly reasonable price. Sean was incredibly helpful and professional in setting me up and answering all of my questions in person and over the phone. This made the process feel a lot less tedious and I knew I was getting a good deal. I'd be confident to recommend this business to anyone thanks to this experience! read more

Called ahead to get price and availability. Great experience. In and out in 15 minutes max if no one ahead of you. Competitive pricing. Thanks! read more

This place is awesome. No appointments but you can ask if they are busy or not. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Johnny was friendly and efficient. Bring cash for a discount, check their website for the coupon. Thanks for being so fast so that I still had time to eat lunch after. Will return when I need a smog check again. read more

I requested a smog check for my Toyota. Service was excellent. I will be returning here again.

My car means a lot to me. I have been wanting to review Smogndash but did not have the time until now. I have been going to Steve for both my cars and have always appreciated his advice and his work. He definitely goes out of his way to make sure I am satisfied and any questions I have were answered. I will continue to take my vehicles to him and recommend anyone that is looking for a good mechanic to see him. read more

Great place to get a smog. Staff if very professional and helpful. I definitely recommend Smogndash for smog. Thank you!

Went on Memorial Day, quick, courteous and smooth. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Our old car initially didn't pass its test, we knew something was up because it was running funny but SmogNdash's diagnostics confirmed it. Turned out to be a coil that needed to be replaced. Once the coil was replaced, the car ran much better and these guys were super helpful about retesting, getting the results to the DMV and getting us on our way. Note that they were a little hard to find at first; when you look for them, turn at the Jet Black driveway (by the Pho restaurant), go up the hill and to the left. read more

Priced as advertised ($50, incl. certificate). I had three ppl in front of me, and was still done in about 20 minutes. No more searching for a good and reasonable inspection. read more

These Guys are great. Fair price (don't play pricing games) and fast. Last smog, I was in and out in 10 min. Of course time may vary based on how busy they are, but I've never waited mor than about 20 min. read more

Lloyd is quick, efficient, and very professional. No BS, and very fair pricing. Highly recommend and will come back. Thanks Lloyd.

I rolled up at 5:15pm 3/2/16 WITHOUT my coupon in hand, and "no problem." These guys are ready to do the work and have it together. A lot of the stations are closed after 5pm, and no one charges less than what these guys have on special. I happened to be a little lax in my vacuuming of late, and they even let me use the high powered car vacuum! These little touches and customer service is just one of many reasons we need to keep supporting our small businesses. Thanks for the care, Smog and Dash! * After I vacuumed I tried to tip the guy, and he refused! People can be awesome. read more

Every two years I have to smog my cars and cross my fingers that this place is still in business. Thankfully they are. I have been a customer at least 4 bi annual smog checks for 2 cars. This place is TOPS. efficient and fast friendly and reasonable. Steve and Christine understand that smog checks are a pain and go the extra mile to make it a friendly and crisp experience I HIGHLY recommend this company! read more

Being an adult is hard: sit in office from 9AM to 5PM, raise kids without going crazy, and throw money at endless problems. Thankfully, places like smogndash make the nitty gritty aspects of adulthood - like car maintenance - a breeze. As their name implies, smogndash is the place to get your smog check taken care of if you're short on time and money. With their (online) coupon, I paid $35 in cash and waited only 10-15 minutes for the entire thing to be taken care of when I arrived first thing in the morning. The hardest part about the experience was finding the exact location: turn right off of Main when you see Kevin's Noodle House; continue up the small hill and veer left; look for spaces marked smogndash on the lefthand side. read more

This is the only place I take my cars to get smogged. This month, I again was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Other smog check locations would have charged me $10 extra for an SUV and $10 extra because the DMV required a smog star check. This place did not charge me extra. read more
