I am pissed. I have a cla250 and I got an oil change by these guys back in end of 2018. I needed a last minute oil change since I was unable to do it myself at the time and these guys put half a quart more oil than the engine can take. This over pressurized the engine and oil started dripping from the bottom, from the oil cap, AND leaked oil into my turbo. Not only that but the pressure caused the crankshaft seal to bulge and it's now touching the pulley. This started causing a chirping noise from the belt which I don't think will go away naturally after a new oil change. I admit I'm at fault also. At the time these guys were at a solid five star so I had no reason to doubt them but I should of checked my oil levels after the job. Check your car after you bring it to them. read more

Was driving my corolla and suddenly the engine light and the maintenance light went on at the same time. Uh oh! I hurriedly called a bunch of places, everything was full or was about to close. Luckily smog pros took me in at 430 even though they close at 5. I parked my car, handed off my keys, and told the guy at the front "desk" what i needed. They were quick, prompt, and pretty friendly. It's quite dirty in the waiting area, if you can even call it a waiting area. It's a really small shop next to a gas station. You walk in the door and the desk is right there and there's about 3 chairs. If you sit down you get to stare at other people's derrieres right in front of you as they wait in line. Well priced. About 30 bucks for an oil change with standard oil. They checked my engine light for free and told me i needed my gas cap replaced. Quick, painless, and chill. read more

I did call in before coming to check pricing ($40!), and the person I spoke to on the phone (same person who helped me in-person) made sure to mention that this is not a Star Certified location and to check my renewal document to ensure I did not have to take my car elsewhere. What brings me back here time and time again is that Linh and the other workers consistently do a great job with whatever car I bring in, charge fair but great prices, and are honest. For example, I brought in my dad's '99 Porsche Boxster a while back. When we took it to the dealership, they quoted us over $2000 just to inspect the car. They even went as far as to tell us that one of the belts in the engine wasn't working. We brought it to Linh who told us that the belt was all fine and that we were getting ripped off from the dealership itself. I brought in my sister's BMW just for an oil change and Linh got it done within 45 minutes. Now I'm here with my Civic for an oil change and tire rotation. Linh charged me for the oil change only because he wanted to check if I actually NEEDED a tire rotation, which I didn't need yet. I feel like any other mechanic would have just charged me without checking if I actually needed the service. Linh looks out for his customers consistently and is not in it for the money. read more

Pretty busy little shop for a rainy Saturday afternoon. When I first arrived, they let me know it would be a bit of a wait (over an hour) but said I could just come back later instead of waiting. I have 3 separate opinions from mechanics and an entire staff from Piercy Toyota located in Milpitas unanimously agreeing. Smog Pros was the last person/company to service my car and failed to properly tighten the bolts on my oil filter as it was missing 28 days after my oil change. Needed a smog check to renew my car's registration. Read about the rave reviews on Yelp and stopped in before the noon hour to see if they could accommodate me. Mike and his crew are the BOMB! $40 for the smog check and DMV certificate (and mention tell him that you saw them on Yelp, he'll give you a 10% discount!) There was one car in front before me - and they took care of me promptly. I was in and out within the hour. The waiting area is spartan, but they offer coffee and tea to help make the wait less tedious. Mike admitted that the only thing lacking is wi-fi - hey, it might do some of us some good to disconnect from the internet for a short time. They are well organized and I noticed that they took the time to interact with each one of their patrons to discuss whatever work needed to be done on their cars in a personalized way. A family run business that has been a mainstay in Milpitas for the last 29 years. NEGATIVE STARS if I could...The men who work in this shop somehow either accidentally disconnected a hose while doing my smog check or they didn't reconnect a hose properly, because after getting my car smog checked here, I started having difficulty starting it. It was an immediate effect and very obviously linked to something they did during the check. Yet when I brought it back and asked them to just check the hoses for me, they wouldn't do so. They said there is no way they did anything to any of my hoses. Really? You were under my hood, fiddling with my car....so how would you know this for a certainty without opening the hood and checking for me? Clearly if it was a major engine issue, I wasn't expecting them to fix it. I simply wanted them to check for a dislodged hose. I would highly recommend not going to this place if that's what they consider customer service. I don't trust them. read more

My dad always said to go here for repairs because they're really honest, but I never believed him because, well, he doesn't have experience with many repair shops, and also...what kind of repair shop won't rip you hard? Apparently this place. My dad's car's heater/de-fogger wouldn't turn off even when the car was off. Took it here panicking it'd overheat or blow up & also I was nearby, the tech (binh, linh, vinh, I forget) advised me to take it to our car's specialist because it was the first time he'd seen this problem. He was nice enough to disconnect the wires so it would stop blowing to save the battery. Although he sort of fixed the problem and obviously spent time thinking of what to do, there was no charge! I have been dating Smog Pros on and off again, but after this last experience, I will definitely stay a loyal customer! I was so happy with the speedy and kind service. I got my oil changed within 15 minutes, I was in and out and on the road! The cost for a regular change is 25$ and sometimes they offer special promotions. What I like best is that they keep you information in their system based on your license plate number. This makes the service even faster, they just look up the license and they have the model, make, personal info, and what kind of oil to change it in, within seconds! I have also done my smog here and they haven't let me down yet! An extra note is that they have a really clean facility, some smog and oil places can get pretty greasy and grimy looking, they keep it organized and neat! read more

They worked me right into their schedule and got started on my car within minutes. With a few minutes to spare, I went across the street for a quick bite. By the time I got back 25 minutes later, my car was already waiting for me. So, in under 45 minutes, I was out with my smog certificate done. This place was super quick and got the job done super fast! I needed a smog check and I stopped by here to get one. They were done in less than 20 minutes which was great because I'm not a patient person. They charged me around $40 dollars which wasn't too bad but I feel like you can find cheaper ones around the area. I'm thinking that the bad review was from a previous management or something (review written in 2007). My experiences with these people have been great. I went to them because the place next door (76 service station) recommended i go to a test only smog station down the street and the referral ended up screwing up my car. So to get it fixed, i didn't take it back to the guy who referred the guy who screwed up my car, i took it to his competition...and that's how i met these guys. They are good people and do honest business. Linh is the guy who usually takes care of my car, but the last time i was there to get some work done, it was done on time, inexpensively, and they even went through and cleaned my whole engine...when i opened my hood, i almost went blind because my engine was so shiny and no longer all black and corroded looking. In times like these, when you see people go the extra mile for you, it says so much more than it used to. I pulled up for a smog check, the smog tech saw me and said "one moment pls, be with you in 5" He acknowledged my presense - thats good - some shops dont give a #@!(& He then came up and asked what I need done, took my paperwork and keys He drove my car over to the machine Popped the hood and began to do his stuff - I stood and watched 10 mins later, he starts up my car again and drives it back out past this one wall, hands me the keys and said "okay youre done... just go to the front desk and I'll help you with the ppwk" He gathered/cleaned up some things then came over to me. within 3 mins I paid $30.00 out the door... (i know right?!?!? WTF??!?!)Thats a KILLER DEAL!!!!!!!! He even warned me that when i go back and drive off, my ABS/Traction Control light may be on, but itll go away after about 3-5 blocks - GOOD to know!
