Nick is genuinely nice. He takes care of all of the cars in my family. Smog check here is a breeze and pricing is affordable. My friend is a mechanic and he said no one charges smog prices as great as Nick. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Waiting room is cleaned. Water available if you are thirsty. read more

This place is a rip-off! He know my car not gonna pass (due to engine light on)but he did it anyway, just to charge me $50 for a fail smog. He try to refer me to friend mechanic which is next to his shop, which want to charge $1400. Beware of this place! This guy is just bad! read more

**BEWARE**BEWARE**BEWARE**BEWARE**BEWARE**BEWARE**BEWARE**BEWARE** Most good Smog Techs will plug in their OBD2 scanner before the smog and if it shows that your PCM has recently been reset due to recent repairs or a dead battery they'll simply to tell you to drive your car around for a few hours and come back.. NOT THIS GREEDY LOSER!!!!! He will charge you $50 after acting like he's doing a bunch of paperwork. He knows the car won't pass within 30 seconds of the pre-test.... I went up the street to another shop which told me to drive a little and come back. I came back and passed. Brought my dad's 1985 BMW to get smog checked. Guy didn't do it because they "check engine light" was not illuminated when the key was turned. In other words, he didn't know if the check engine light was not on or just not working. I don't know much about this car so thought it was a bit odd but assumed he was right and had to get something fixed. Checked the manual - no mention of check engine light. Posted the question to some BMW forums - they didn't have check engine lights until something like the mid-90s. How can this guy run a smog check and not know information like this? Worst part was that he implied I had it unhooked or turned off to try and pass smog and that he was doing me a big favor by not charging me $50 and failing the car. read more

Guy is polite but flat out refused to test my vehicle because he was afraid of losing points. Not sure if it's a problem with him or the state system. I went somewhere else and they tested it right away. He's fear of testing my vehicle caused months of delay, repeated trips and being pulled over by the CHP. read more

I took my car to this shop yesterday late after work. I got there at 5:25 hoping they would still be open. Lucky for me, they extend their business hours to 6:00 in Spring/Summer so people work late around this time can still get their smog check. Wow! That's quite thoughtful of a business like this shop. Nick was super friendly, kindly asked me to wait for 5 minutes cuz he was almost done with a car. I've been to a few small auto shops but I have to say this shop is really clean and organized, at least a big and clean wait room especially in the summer you need to wait in the shade! Nick really took time to check my car. I heard about 7 or 10 minute smog check as advertised by other shops but they could miss something if they do it so quick. I mean it is nice for a girl who knows little about cars to have a technician check for any problems there might be. It turns out that 2 tires are low on air, as well as fluid and oil levels. He helped me fill up these guys without any extra charge! The whole work was finished in 15 minutes. I totally recommend this shop and Nick for his friendly attitude, professional work, and nice and clean place. read more

Our car was due for a smog test and certification connected with the annual registration this year, and as you might know, the California DMV limits your smog test station choices to STAR test facilities. We located this STAR-certified smog check center on the internet and went there yesterday not knowing what to expect. The last smog test we had done was not pleasant in that before I could get the certificate high pressure was put on for us to have extensive services performed on our vehicle which just passed the smog test. At this STAR-certified facility run by one very polite and efficient individual, the process was quick, simple and customer-friendly. We were treated with respect and politeness throughout the approximately 20 minute process and, being a test-only shop, there was nothing for the operator to sell other than the testing service which we happily paid. I cannot recommend this smog test center highly enough. If it is a reasonable distance from you and you need a STAR-certified smog test done, this is the place to go. Full Stop! read more

My mom has been going to Nick to get her car smog checked since her car is 2007, so she goes every 2 years. Nick is very honest and his prices are cheap compared to a lot of places. Plus it's awesome that he's open on Saturday!! I would definitely recommend this place for price and customer service. read more

I first started checking Yelp for a good smog place that did star testing. After reading sketchy reviews about places near me (Disneyland area) I found good reviews about this place and I had business going out towards Westminster anyways so I popped in. As soon as I got out of my truck I was greeted. He took my paper work and told me 10 minutes. 5 minutes later he was done, he thanked me and even backed my truck out for me. I will allways come here from now on. Great customer service and fast work. Wish I could give 10 stars, very impressed. read more

Highly recommend Nick took care of things professionally very good price . Another place wanted to charge 79.00 plus 29.00 certificate . Nick charged 50.00 out the door. He was very friendly I didn't wait long at all definitely very nice man and his shop is clean with a nice clean waiting area. Don't waste time going anywhere else and support your local businesses. I went to this facility to get smog check. It was smooth and easy. I paid with a credit card. I went back 10 months later with my other car. Again I paid with a credit card, but a different credit card then before. 4 months later when I received my credit card statements for the 2 cards that I had used at this business, I found that they had made a fraudulent charge of $50 to each one of the cards that I had previously used there. One fraudulent charge was 1 year after I had used it there, the other fraudulent charge was 3 months after my legitimate use - both frauds were run in the same month. My advise to everyone is, if you go to this place use cash only or you may very sorry!!!!! read more

The first shop told me it was a problem with the mass air flow sensor and tried to charge me to fix it, which didn't feel right to me. Within about an hour, he figured out that it wasn't the air flow sensor at all--it was just a blown fuse. That alone saved me a lot of money and potentially from being overcharged elsewhere. What really stood out was the honesty and communication. He explained clearly what went wrong, didn't try to upsell anything, and made sure I understood the situation. On top of that, he even aired up my tires for free, which was a nice touch. Fast, honest, and affordable service like this is hard to find. I don't feel bad blood or any sketchy feelings toward anybody at the shop. I just feel it's dumb luck and just plain bad luck on my part for having such a faulty truck. Everybody at the shop has done an amazing job helping me out. Will at the front counter is an amazing person who goes above and beyond to do whatever he can to make the pricing work for you.. Trey is an amazing technician who knows exactly what he's doing and sends detailed videos and reporting of everything he inspects. Unfortunately my truck started leaking and it was a faulty water pump. The same water pump I replaced 4 years ago at the exact location here at autolink. Again, I don't feel any sketchy feelings. I don't feel any kind of way. I just feel frustrated that the same water pump would go out after 4 years. I feel like something like that just doesn't happen. Even with that, I'm in a position in my life where I can't and don't have the resources to do anything further with this vehicle. About 2 weeks ago, maybe three. I replaced the complete brake system in my vehicle and it cost me about $2,000. Today I got the estimate for the water pump repair and it was $1,500. This is on the higher end of any shop repair. Again? I feel it's worth it because of the work they do, but to be honest, I feel something more should have been done to either prevent the water pump from breaking down again or getting some kind of warranty for that water pump that just happened to break down once again after 4 years. In the back of my mind, I can't stop thinking about the fact that something like this just doesn't happen that often. Water pumps don't break down that often. Anyway, that aside again, I hold no bad feelings toward this shot because I highly recommend them to everybody. They are on the higher end of the pricing ever since they started getting more clientele and more business. That is something that is to be expected I guess. Even with that, they were able to bring down the price significantly, and I appreciated it ever so much. At the same time I had to explain that at this time in my life I I can't and will not continue to repair this truck. I picked up the truck from the shop, drove it home and it's going to be sitting in my driveway for a few months until I figure out what I'm going to do with it. I have to save money to fix it because I do want to keep it and pass it down to my kid because after $15,000 worth of repairs I think it's pretty much brand new and should hold up for my son for a few years. Thank you everybody at the shop, Jay, will, Trey all the mechanics that I haven't met. They are detailed and explain what needs to be done with great reporting and paperwork. I will not be going back for a while. I'm going to save up some money. Get a new car and when the time comes I'm going to fix the truck and pass it down to my kid when he's old enough to drive. But I am seriously done with this truck. It has been nothing but a money pit. Again, I hold no bad blood, no hard feelings toward anybody at the shop. I just feel some kind of way about the same part breaking down 4 years later and me having to fix it at the exact same place with no kind of warranty.

Mr. Nguyen was very friendly and was done with the smog check very quickly. It was extremely fast & I would go there again! I believe this location is also STAR certified. I frequently drive by this area so it's in a very convenient location and easy to find. The inspection fee was $59.99 plus $8.25 for the certificate so I paid $68.24 ish. Will be back again in the future!!

Yet they did not try to pressure me into fixing it, but rather told me in a more of an off hand, oh hey by the way kind of heads up. I appreciated their honesty and the price is not a rip off either. The only downside is that they don't take appointments so it's a first come first serve situation and I had to come in on a PTO day since I want to make sure it got taken care of that day.

He did warn me that it could be a little wait due to high volume of clients. I ended up going with a muffler delete and replaced my suspension with coil overs. Yen took care of the muffler delete and Lee and two other very helpful gentlemen took care of my coil overs. I have to say I am very satisfied with the quality of work for the value. They quoted me way under anyone else that I had called prior to going with them. I will recommend A-1 Muffler Express to all of my friends and family. They all make you feel that you're part of the family. They offered me coffee and cold water while I waited for my car to be done. One thing to remember, they are experts in mufflers, exhaust systems, and not any other type of work. But it never hurts to ask if they can do it for you!

I came to this place to support my son's school because he donates 20% to the school. Price is cheaper than other places I know. The tech was nice and friendly. I had my two kids with me and was worried they couldnt wait too long but we didnt, we were in and out in less than 15 minutes. Totally recommend Nick and this place to everyone! read more

Cheap and fast. My fiance and I both took our cars at the same time. Took a walk to the McD for a McLatte, and when we got back, they were McDone! Thanks guys! I'm taking my dads car in this week. Just got our smog today, car passed well, price is $50 for the 2002 Honda Civic. Total wait time is about 15 minutes , excellent service .
