July 5, 2021 I was the only customer and technician would not quote a price for my vehicle after 3 requests. He finally said $46, but charged $63 after 10 minute test. Been going to this place for years with all my family's vehicles. James has always been amazing, he's not very talkative but no BS get the work done type. If there's a problem he's always point it out for me to get it fixed. Today there's a new guy working, he's a complete anal. Keep telling me my car a Toyota Venza is a truck and want to charge me extra (their policy specificly said extra for SUV, truck and Vans) I told him its a wagon or crossovers but not a truck and he can just Google it. This guy is a complete idiot and refused to smog my car if I don't pay the extra. I went out of my way to get my car smog at this place because of the previous experiences but not anymore. If you smog at this place make sure you asked if extra charge will be applied and avoid this idiot if James not there. read more

I found this place through Yelp, and they didn't disappoint. David one of the managers was super personable! Everything was quick and easy and I was in-and-out in about 30 minutes. The waiting room was neat and clean and at the end of my visit David made some suggestions on things my car could use in the future. Thats not surprising since its a typical upsale tactic, what was pleasantly surprising was that David took the time to explain why i needed what i did and didn't put any pressure on me to make the sale. I arrived at 8:30 and the owner arrived about 10 minutes late. But wow did he make up for lost time. I think I was out the door within 20 minutes which is quick for a smog test. One thing some people may be put off by is his no-nonsense attitude. He's not friendly but he's not mean. I called around this morning to see how much they are charging for smog check, right around my area Irvine/Newport was $69.99 plus $8.25 for my Z4 2005. I was heading over to Westminster today, why not do my smog check there. I came across a coupon for $26.75 + $8.25 for the certificate off smogtips.com and I called the shop. He was super helpful and honors the coupon for my car. I don't know what the difference between smoging an American, Japanese, and European car is...and that why some places makes a huge deal in charging $10-$20 more for a nicer car. It's such a dumb thing to do. I came in to do my smog check. There was one person in front of me and it took about 15-20 minutes and I was all done. I PASSED everything! YAY, super excited!
