Its quick, convenience, and surprisingly cheap! ***Its a STAR Certified Smog Check Station***means I certified that they gets these stars LOCATION: Right next to the Shell Gas station on Euclid off the 22 East Freeway, between Euclid Street and Trask Ave. HOURS: from their yelp hours M-F: 9am-5pm Sat: 9am-4pm Sun: 9:15-3pm PRICING: for most average 2000 & newer cars, smog check will be $29.99+$8.25 certificate comes out $40....Older cars & SUVs add additional $10.00. My car was $40, but you can always get a quote from them ahead when you call and in person. SERVICE: So far I heard this place has change ownership a few times but these men here are pretty nice and friendly, I haven't had any problems or complains yet. TIMING---Remember back then when they drive your car inside the shop, place your tires on top of those rolling things, turn on your car, step on your gas pedal to a speed of 80-100miles???? Remember that??? Well guess what? Smog check is also getting an upgrade on their testing process, yup that is correct! It took me less than 10-15 minutes on a Sunday. ----I was surprise that the newer smog check process doesn't require any driving into the shop, stepping on the gas to 100 miles anymore. Signs says $29.99 but it's +$10 for DYNO and +$10 for larger vehicles (aka trucks, SUV and vans) My little Honda hybrid was $40, paid cash. No extra fees. In and out in less than 15 mins. No waiting area really so I just stood there awkwardly watching them until they were done.... Bring your DMV paperwork with you! They'll do visual check, dyno and the smog check and send the info straight to the DMV database. Easy and straight-forward. Painless experience. read more

Needed a smog check and went to Pro Auto Care because it was close to my house. I was surprised to hear that their prices increased to $50 when I have been only paying $40. A quick google search led me to Star Smog Check. When I arrived, there was only one person working and I was greeted instantly. The gentleman was very kind and offered me a seat while I waited. He is a very honest person and does a very thorough job. Therefore, he will not pass you if there any issues. Which has it's pros and cons. So if you think your car may not pass, take it elsewhere. Even though I asked for a quote on Christmas Eve, I still got a reply within the next day which was amazingly quick! Vick told me they were closed on Christmas Day (which is understandable), but he still gave me the cost of the smog test for my car anyways. I came in for my smog test a few days later, met with friendly staff, and only had to wait 15 minutes. I paid the $40 with my debit card, which they don't charge an additional fee for, unlike with credit cards. I would definitely recommend this place the next time you need a smog check! read more

Honest to goodness this Star Certified Smog Check Station is tops. I found this gem on Yelp, and I am grateful for the help Yelp! As another Yelper as stated, the smog check station is located at the Shell gas station. The "Star Certified" sign isn't as large as that in the picture but don't worry, they are still "Star Certified." The smog station operator is Vietnamese and speaks English fluently ;) He was also very friendly and gave me upfront pricing on the smog check. It took less than 15 minutes for the entire procedure. There was no surprises or double-talk. It was all smiles from the beginning to the end. 5 stars because it was easy to find, conveniently located near the freeway, had a quick turn-around time, no gimmicks/games, and of course offered extremely friendly service.
