The layout of the store is very very easy to navigate, the weekly sales are pretty good most of the time, the selection is plentiful in my opinion and the staff is more than accommodating and extremely helpful. The staff is probably one of the best I've ever encountered at a grocery store besides Wegmans in Ocean, NJ. Their beer and wine selection is great! Prices are on point and comparable to Walmart. They also carry malted drinks, hard cider and hard root beer. When my friend came to visit from New Jersey he went over to Harris Teeter to get ingredients to make homemade Asian food, hoping that this particular store had everything that he would need. They indeed did and he was very happy! We made a beautiful meal of homemade wonton soup with shrimp eggrolls and we got everything we needed at this particular Harris Teeter (won ton wrappers are found in the produce section). I will most definitely continue to shop your weekly and sometimes biweekly. The store is clean and airy, with the happy buzz of employees dressed in green going about their tasks. To demonstrate the quality of this particular store, and what impressed me the most, I have a story. I was there for a specific item (although I left with $50 dollars worth of other items, but I digress), and was having difficulty locating it. Ben, the store manager was busy stocking shelves and was coming down the frozen food aisle, so I stopped him to inquire. Without hesitation, he kindly looked up the item, checked the stock, and found a boatload of what I needed (yay!) and then educated me on where the other plant-based items were in this specific store. Score! I had been to THREE other Publix stores (yes in three different cities...lol) on my search. This store has now become "Numero Uno" in my book. They are a good source for finding some rare, or harder to find items, but will pay a premium for them. Their selection of Boars head products have been decreasing over the past 24 months at this location. This is questionable since other local boars head distributors ( HT, LOWES, PUBLICS) have not had their selection effected. 2. This is most important. The deli counter customer service at the Skeet Club location is abominable. Many of the deli employees are rude, get upset at specific requests (ie; paper sheets between EACH slice of cheese). Never unreasonable requests but logical asks. Now, last night, I arrived at the deli counter in need of an item. It was 7:55pm. Yes they close at 8 pm, but by my understanding they were open for another 5 minute and should help customers if needed. When I approached the deli clerk to request the item she looked at me as though I was asking for a kidney donation, she then stated "it's 7:55, to which I had to ask "what's the point."? Her statement, we are closed. Now mind you they put up a sign with the hours. Here's the interesting part, when I mentioned we should perhaps discuss with management, she suddenly changed and starts asking (reluctantly) " what can I get you"? I chose to decline service. I can't have bad, negative energy transmitted to food I will consume. In closing this unnecessary lengthy diatribe, this location is no longer an option, I'll take my business to public's where they are highly trained in customer service. This store has different ailses for different cuisines, and I had a hard time finding Thai sticky rice because at first I didn't realize the store setup But, they did indeed have Thai sticky rice, though the selection wasn't great.(for sticky rice.) I even saw at the back of the store a little section for European refrigerated and non-regfrigerated items, and was pleasantly surprised to spot kvass(A fermented Slavic bread drink). The main complaint I have with this store, and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars was their meat selection is quite terrible. The meat(pork,beef,chicken), was not much to choose from, which is one of the main reasons I came to that store. Since this was an Asian and multicultural store, I specifically expected they would have animal parts that stores like Wal-Mart don't carry, such as pig ears and skin. But, their pork selection was even worse than Wal-Mart, and the meat looked old and it SMELLED. All meat smells, but ESPECIALLY there. Do NOT buy meat from that store and don't expect to find pig or cow parts if you need it for Lao or southeast Asian dishes in general. Ignoring the meat section, the store is actually pretty well stocked, and has lots of hidden gems. However, I'd like to make a note for anyone looking for specific items there. They don't carry sausage casings, I asked. And though they have a very good selection of Japanese glutinous rice that's easy to find, their Thai sticky rice selection is pretty bad, so I wouldn't actually go there to buy sticky rice. My mom kept saying the meat also looked like garbage and that the store was dirty, but I was so busy running around trying to find sticky rice that I wasn't paying attention to the stores cleanliness honestly So yeah! I would definitely recommend giving some of the drinks a try the next time you stop in. We also tried a sweet cheese bar found in the refrigerated section. They had several flavors and we tried the coconut almond and chocolate caramel. I did not like the chocolate caramel at all but the coconut almond was really good. We have a few other items we are going to try later so I'll have to post more photos once I give them a try.
