Yes I have shopped at the Smiths on Pacheco for 15 years. I understand Covid restrictions and that sometimes food items are not available. But that is not my concern. On Sunday at 1 pm, having checkers standing, lean on their elbows while waiting for customers and box people standing and talking and playing on their cell phones. I watched before me, during me and after with my groceries the cashier never once wiped the counters or the grocery belt. I didn't observe any one of them using sanitizers themselves between clients.There were no carts inside, no sanitizer left at the doors, trash containers by the door (both doors) overflowing and trash on the floor, and blowing around the foyer. Carts were in the way of parking places all over the place. I was never greeted with even a hello, by the cashier, stockers or anybody in the store nor did anybody bother to make eye contact. Yes we all feel a little burnt out but this was so sad. I am very clear about my decision not to ever come into the store again to buy my own, my family or friends groceries. And that is the biggest shame of all because this was known by the community to be the best store/cleanest in Santa Fe until recently. :-((( read more

As of May 16 the covid rules have been relaxed a bit. But the governor says we should be masked in public. This Smiths store is not enforcing the mask order or the 25% occupancy order. There are a lot of people not wearing masks and they are way over 25% occupancy. The manager said that unless the police came to enforce it they wouldn't. read more

This Smith's grocery store has restored my faith in big box stores. Well lit and easy to navigate, I am surprised at the quality of their offerings. From the Boar's Head deli to the seasonal items (heavy-duty plastic cups for my picnic), they have everything I could possibly need. And when I needed help finding a special cut of chicken, the manager was very responsive and found exactly what I needed. And last, check out is a breeze and I've never waited in line for more than a minute. read more

The pharmacists at Smith's are unfriendly and rude. The rudest one is named James Garcia. Whenever I call to refill my prescription, he tells me I must use the automated system and that he is too busy filling prescriptions to take my call. When I tell him the automated system is inconvenient and gives me a pick-up time 24- 72 hours from the time I call, he tells me that it "usually" done sooner, but is unable to provide a specific time. When I explain that sometimes I have to depend on people to pick up my prescription for me and that sometimes I need to the prescription done last minute, he is unsympathetic and rude. The last time I called he hung up on me abruptly even after I said, I would call early if I could in the future. Obviously, the one of the issues is that Smith's corporate management is attempting to save money by cutting staff and the pharmacists are overworked and rude. James Garcia, however, indicates that it is the customers who must pay the price for this. Perhaps he thinks customer service is an out-dated, archaic concept, and customers must be inconvenienced, so that the staff's job can be easier. Perhaps he sides with management and believes customers come last and profits come first?? This is certainly the "air" that the pharmacists give off at Smiths on Cerrillos whenever I use that pharmacy. The staff at Pharmaca, although busy, never treat customers with such rudeness and disrespect. Taking my business elsewhere and never going back to Smiths. Will also be calling corporate headquarters to complain. read more

This establishment does not have the Marbel double white, unlike the other smith's grocery establishments in town. Why is this? I have no idea. But it gets the one star because of that fact. I fan drive to the other two smith's in town and get the double white, as well as all the other stores, smith's in Albuquerque, and the fact that I csn go to any other store but not this one for the double white is unacceptable in today's day and age. read more

This branch of the Smith's chain is pretty good. Staff greet you as you enter and leave and also point out things on special as you check out. It's bright and clean and the fruit and veg seemed quite fresh. It's got the usual selection of any large supermarket. If you're debating between the big chains, this one is not a bad choice. read more

All the liquor is locked up all day in glass cabinets; this is supposed to be more convenient? This is supposed to cater to higher class shoppers by treating them like alcoholics? This is the laughing stock of the Santa Fe booze industry! IF you can find someone to open the cabinet (go to the deli, they will page over the intercom "I need a liquor representative to open a cabinet for a customer"...), a completely unknowledgeable employee will ask what you want and stand by you to lock the cabinet when you are done. I explained that I wanted to "shop", see what its made of, where its from, etc., but no time for that anymore, you boozehound. People only bought liquor from here for the convenience and not the price, now that its gone its Total Wine for everyone. I'd call for a boycott but when their liquor sales drop by 90% maybe they will realize their stupidity on their own. A checker claimed that too much liquor was being stolen even though every bottle has a locked security sensor on it that only store personnel have access to, so you really think its the customers? And how does it solve the problem anyway since the customer still has the bottle in their cart, exactly as before? read more

As the primary shopper of my household, I've been shopping at this Smith's location for the past six years. Even though I live closer to downtown and there are many closer options, I travel to this location because the staff are always so professional and friendly. Also, I feel like this Smith's location provides all of the products I'm looking for at a cheaper price than Albertson's or Sprouts. This Smiths local has bulk bins and a great produce section. The remodel of the store also has been a great addition. read more

Wow, the bedside manner of some of the employees leaves a lot to be desired. First I get completely ignored by the cashier as if I was invisible and then screamed at in the parking lot by another employee because I didn't put my empty cart where he wanted me to (which happened to be right next to the other empty carts). Smith's needs to educate these morons that they are working with the public and that there is such a thing as common decency and politeness. I know the threshold is already pretty low for good customer service in New Mexico, but these employees are on a whole new level of rudeness. read more

I am very dissatisfied with my clicklist experience here at the smith's in Santa Fe on Pacheco. I placed an order to be ready between 4:00-5:00pm today. I arrived at 4:28pm and called to let the store know I had arrived for pickup. I was notified that my order was being processed and there were several items left to pick up. I was told my order should be ready by 5:00pm. I waited in the car until 5:31pm and called back to check on the status of my order, since I had seen a vehicle parked next to me have their food brought to them. I was told my order would be out shortly. After waiting over an hour, my order was finally brought out to my vehicle, unbagged and in a crate. It is ridiculous to promote a service when you end up having to wait an hour for an order. This is false advertising and was a waste of my valuable time. I hope you will take the proper measures to remediate this unprofessional and discourteous occurrence. read more

Smith fuel center employee Angel was amazing! My mom was driving my dad's truck and he has a locking gas cap. My mom was stressing out because she couldn't get the cap off. I even tried for a good 20 mins. She went for a refund since the gas cap would not come off. Angel came out and was able to get the cap off. He is a great person! My experiences with the Smith Super Markets in Santa Fe over the past few years has been terrible. They are understocked and have stopped carrying many of my favorite products telling me those products are no longer made or not available. Other stores in the area have those products in abundance. They had nice discounts if you bought four of an item but never had more than three on the shelf and none in the back. I stopped most of my shopping at Smith's after I was swindled by their fuel points program. When I first enrolled, the points rolled over for 2-3 months. If you spend $99 in a month now, you get 99 points that are lost to you at the end of the month because they no longer roll over. Lately they have been offering a digital coupon that gives 4X fuel points on a single purchase of a gift card during a month. I have been buying Amazon gift cards for family birthdays in amounts of $100-250. During the last year or so, I loaded the 4X coupon onto my Smith's card in anticipation of earning 400-1000 points. It worked fine in the beginning but, in the last few months, only yielded 2X points at the cash register. I only learned that fact after my credit card was charged and it was too late to void my purchase. With considerable effort in conversations with customer service on the phone and with managers in the stores that were gypping me, I got the extra points 10 at a time as bag credits. This process cost 30-60 minutes of time that I bill at $150 per hour. This month they not only shorted me 2X points but they sold me a card that Amazon would not accept. When I complained, all the Smith people in the store would parrot is "no refunds on gift cards!" I have put the charge in dispute with my credit card company but, at the moment, it looks like Smith's is going to get away with stealing $200 from me. I will never shop at Smith's or any other store in their parent organization, Kroger. I don't think this accidental. There is someone in corporate headquarters who relies on the fact that most people are reluctant to complain when they are cheated and the checkout counter. read more

A couple of months ago I returned an item that was spoiled. I didn't have the receipt but it was a Smith's brand. She explained I could exchange it or get a credit on a gift card. I chose to get a gift card because I wasn't going directly home and it was a perishable item. It was $4.00. I tried to use the gift card at a different Smith's about a month later and I couldn't because it had a zero balance even though I had never used it. The manager at that store showed me it was never loaded. It was put in as cash given out. She said I had to go back to the other store to fix it. Another few weeks go by and I go back to the other store. First customer service was closed. She sent me to a register. The cashier couldn't do it so she referred me to the manager. He was assisting a new employee. I was fine with waiting. I told him the story and he proceeded to question me like I was lying. Then he called another person so that they could phone the person that rang it up (to verify the transaction) Like this person was going to remember me after almost 3 months! Finally since they can't get ahold of the person he tells the other cashier to give me the refund. I hardly go to this store because there are closer markets and I WILL NOT be going back to this location. It's BAD customer service to treat your customers as if they are some kind of liar or thief all over $4.00. That money may not seem worth the trouble but that's lunch for one of my kids one day. Store generally has an odor that hasn't changed in 5 years, there is one or two people that are kind to everyone there, but the rest, just bad service, their customer service desk is terrible. those two gals that work there have worked there for a long time and just don't even smile anymore..all in all, store is sad. read more
