Then a technicien, Amanda, tells me that I need to come back in 2 days, that it is not time to pick up the prescription yet. I say: "Why did your employe tell me to come today when I called last week?", her response: "Did you ask for her name? No? Well, if you don't ask for a name, how do you expect us to train our employees properly, you need to tell us who you talked to." Hum... Am I supposed to participate in employee training? In a second, the responsibility of the error became mine, and I was scolded. Both Amanda and the pharmacist, Stephanie Martinez, told me to go to another pharmacy if I weren't happy with their services. I think that we should be able to resolve a problem rather than part ways, but perhaps this is an old way of thinking. All a client needs is the correct information, then we proceed accordingly. We all have busy schedules. More was said in our exchange and I really hope that things get better, I wish for a good and efficient rapport in the future and, if it is the case, I will re-evaluate my rating to reflect this change. Note to self: always ask the name of the person on the phone or in front of you. Must carry a special name notebook...

Lenses/frames are quite pricey, but of very good quality. Would like to mention Julie specifically. She has assisted me several times over the years. Last year she caught an omission in my prescription (from university) as there were not prisms noted on the prescription. She made me aware of it, I got a new Rx and then proceeded to have the glasses made correctly. That saved me a lot of money, as I did not have to have the lenses made twice. She is always so cordial, efficient and knowledgeable. I just ordered another set of lenses put into frames and the whole process was smooth as silk. Hope to work with her again.

Thirdly they do not answer their phone using the excuse that they are short staffed (this has been several months already and I don't understand running a business such as a doctors office like that) and when you do leave a message they either don't call you back at all or they take days and days to call back. Definitely needs improvement.

NEW PATIENTS BE AWERE!!!…read more By far the worse office and doctor I have ever been to. The man has no bed side manners, no personality whatsoever (very dull), the type that does not enjoy his profession and only practices for the money. I went to see him for a slightly elevated PSA of 4.5 with symptoms of prostate pressure... I explained to him that I had just cleared a UTI and he interrupted me in a condescending way, challenging me with the fact that males seldom getsu UTIs and switched to the possibility of being prostate cancer, and on top of that he started on his own, to give me explanations for prostate cancer treatments, "surgery or CHEMICAL CASTRATION", these were his exact words! I left the office very disturbed. Immediately booked my MRI with my orders to the Santa Fe Imaging to send my results to my PCP ONLY! Results came back as prostatitis, took antibiotics and PSA now back to normal! The office: when I booked my appointment, I specifically requested for the office to confirm that they excepted my Presbyterian insurance, they checked and told me yes. When I went to the appointment, they made a copy of my insurance card and drivers license, I paid my copay... Now, almost 6 months later they are sending me a bill for U$338 dollars for the office visit claiming that they did not accept my insurance. It seems that this office has this dishonest practices with insurance scheme, as they did the exact thing to my partner.

Had I not reminded them, the prescription was only for distance. I've called multiple times to ask about a referral that apparently never happened, and I was recently informed by two different people in the office that 1) the referral was definitely sent, and 2) the referral was never sent, and 3) they have no record of my multiple calls requesting the referral be revisited. As of June 5, I still had not had contact with the referral doctor, so I called her directly. Her office said they'd never received a referral. As for billing, I charged for things my insurance would cover, but were never billed for. After many phone calls, I managed to get that straightened out. My insurance paid, but I had to make sure they billed my insurance company. In addition, I was charged an additional $50 for my prescription, on top of the eye exam. Who does that?! My sense is that this office is inept and dishonest. I advise anyone reading this to find another eye doctor.
