Been shopping at Smith's for the most recent seven months now, usually just dropping by for fruits and veggies. Sometimes I need to have Instacart deliver for me. I'll use that app as a grocery list and visit the store if I'm close by. Sometimes the product on the app isn't available at the store locations. In any case, there's usually another brand of the same product. This gives me the opp to price shop. Often their products are discounted with a Smith's rewards card. Please get one! The great thing too, is Smith's carries Kroger brand's label and I trust their brand name. The label has everything I've needed from taco and sandwich ingredients, ice cream, baking necessities, breakfast stuff, and even fish, chicken, or meat items. I discovered a small international section as well. Inside the store, they have a limited section of booze, but I was still able to find something for the parties I've attended. It looks like some of the more popular names can be found though. Some other pluses include a bakery, meat and deli service, and last minute flowers, balloons or gift ideas. Only once had I experienced snubby customer service at this location from a cashier. All other times were great anyway. It's a grocery store and convenience store all in one. read more

A little after 8 am this morning (Sunday) where typically Smith's stores are busy because you know, it's a weekend day. Typical one lane open and with me there are 6 people in line with full carts. Myself with one and a half. Yes I'm an Instacart shopper and what that means is I deliver if someone orders off the Instacart app OR the Smith's app because they don't deliver themselves. So I am at these stores 10-15 times a day typically. So....i proceed to self checkout because I need to deliver said items to customers who are waiting. The cashier in that line looks at the huge line and instead of calling for "backup" she calls for someone to fetch carts outside. So I go to self checkout and the blonde Smith's worker there is "hot right out of the gate" she says "Self checkout is only 25 items" I explain the line is long and nobody was coming, on a Sunday with 6 people in line. She told me next time to go through regular checkout. DO BETTER SMITHS!!! If this was 6 am, you have NO cashiers and I would've had to go through self checkout anyways!!!! If she had approached me like a professional and said "Hey, just to let you know for next time, it's only 25 items". No big deal. Use your skilled customer service next time!! The little tiny signs they have are above a couple of the self checkout registered I guess because I didn't see them. I can say I'm never going there again, because honestly that's what they would want me to say, but I have a big IC community that would love to hear about this, in fact they already may know of this particular store. Oh and also, for the manager and employee who "watched" me check out like I was going to steal something, come on...why would I hurt my pay by lowering my customers bill and I would get less tip. This location is my favorite amongst the North Las Vegas stores. The layout is not weird and there is not usually ridiculously long lines for self check all the time like the Losee location. Thats probably due to the fact that this store has two self check out areas, there is one on each side of the store, and they all have multiple machines. I don't shop here often, just on occasion when I need to grab a few things. At today's visit the shelves were stocked and the produce looked good. The only slight nuisance was that there were lots of pallets in between some of the walkways. The items needed to be unloaded and there was no one there actively working on it although it seemed like there were plenty of employee's throughout the store. read more

They have security guards now because too many people steal from the store. The staff here are doing their best and I salute them for that. Went to make a return and no one is at the counter. Employees standing around talking and not one acknowledging us. After a few minutes I walk to the self che kout and ask if anyone is working guest services. "Yes, im giving her a break and I'll be there in about 7 minutes." I'm sorry, is this how you treat your customers? Time is money. It may be trivial to that employee but he has no idea what we were up against. Send a manager over or another employee, dont make your paying customers wait. Or at the least put a sign up saying when you'll be back. It just felt rude and like we didn't matter. read more

We routinely have issues with this store Its often dirty, it's very poorly lit and there is never enough staff. Today , although not earth shattering-ly bad, was just kind of the last straw. We have a birthday party tomorrow and since soda was on sale according to their app , Buy 2 Get 2 free on Coke and Pepsi and 7up products, we went in. We got our soda; a mix of Coke, Dr Pepper and Fanta. We get to check out and the clerk flatly refused to honor the sale saying it wasn't on Coke , specifically not just general Coke products, unless we bought 4/ 12 packs of just Coke. I went back took this picture of their sign and she STILL wouldn't honor it. Then she showed me some photo copy of some janky handwritten note at another station saying only Coke BUT it was in 2 liters not cans. At this point there was a long like behind us and my frustrated husband just wanted to get out so we stopped talking paid and got out. Im very tired of the unprofessional way this store is run and they will no longer get my money even though they are the most convenient location. Kasharee is a terrible cashier. She wasn't busy, no one else was in her lane. But she was lazy enough to leave the pints like in the picture attached. All rolling all over the place, not upright. I bagged up some other rolling pints, but most of them were rolling all over the place. I'm complaining because I was a cashier at another job, this is pure laziness. This is rude. No one else was in her lane, she had nothing else to do, yet couldn't bother to set up the 6 pints correctly? At the seafood counter, I was told she had to walk my selections to the front of the store because it was over $40. I was walked to self-checkout and then the guy at the front scanned them and bagged them. I said, "wow, that's weird. That's never happened before." He replied, "yeah, when the order is over something like $20 we have to do this." Again, this has NEVER happened to me before. So it had nothing to do with me being black or me being profiled??? Doubtful!!! I was hungry so I still got my food, but yeah, I wouldn't recommend anyone being subjected to such an experience. This store comes through for me sometimes. The produce section was very well stocked and that team was on it. They didn't greet or ask if help was needed but I was happy with what I seen and the quality if the selection this morning. Bakery seemed a bit behind because there were bo donuts at all, but it was a good quick trip. I came on Christmas eve and that experience was great and the manager who checked me out was polite and they were well stocked during the holiday. I appreciate that so those two experiences = a solid 3 for me. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. I was a loyal customer and had been coming to this specific Smith's for over 10 years. Then one day, I had a shitty experience and haven't gone back. I stopped by around 8 AM in the morning to send money through Western Union. There was no line at the Customer Service desk, but it also didn't look closed. I wait a second and after no one came to help, I looked around to see what the hours were - but I didn't see anything. I only notice a sign that says, "Be back at 10 AM." So, I leave and come back later in the afternoon. When I return, the Customer Service desk is still closed. I walk over to the Cosmetics aisle to ask a worker what time the Customer Service desk opens (because she usually mans it) and she immediately brushes me off. She looked to be helping another customer so I wait and ask again what time it opens. She responds with the same disregard, "Oh, I don't know, maybe it's closed" - and waves me off while walking away. So I walk over to the front (towards the self checkout), already bothered by her demeanor, and I come across two workers. I ask if the Customer Service desk is open and she says, "You read the sign, right? So, it's closed." I say, "Yes but the sign says 'Be back at 10 AM'. I was here earlier and I came back. It's noon." She then looks over at the other worker... laughs... and reiterates, "Yeah TOMORROW (exaggerating the word as if I don't speak English). It's not open until tomorrow." NOW I AM IRRATE thinking... why did she just scoff at me? My response was, "Well that's not clear on the sign. You should add 'TOMORROW' or the date to indicate that. I was here earlier and wasted gas coming back here." And she just shakes her head and puts her arms up motioning an 'oh well!' then continues to LAUGH it off. I tried to explain my thoughts and she did not care to understand. They just sat there looking at me like I was stupid. So I'm saying my piece as a I walk out the door!! I couldn't believe the shit I was dealing with!! It's more than just the lack of customer service for me. It's the principle, especially since my family and I have been shopping in this store for years! Most of the workers are familiar that I'm a regular and I hated the way I was being treated - passed off like an idiot. It was a SIMPLE fix and the fact that no one I approached was willing to help me with something so small really got to me. Since then, I stopped going there for good. First time here, it was kind of like a Albertsons and a Smart and Final that had a baby. They have a great variety selection of products, prices are actually pretty good. Produce was delightful looking, customer service was great gentleman at the deli station was very nice started a conversation and what was inside the salads and overall really did a great job providing me with deli service. I went for a few items and ended up with more things than I was planning on buying, well worth it. I went to self check out because I didn't have to much stuff and cashiers were all occupied. I have finally was able to get a job but I'm going to be late on my first day because Smiths will not allow me to go on the store to purchase my mom some oatmeal before heading to work. Chris the director said No Exceptions but what about people like me that has to shop for the elderly because my mom is afraid to be out side. I have had issues with a couple of carts stopping outside door. One review (Matt W) stated this is bc of racism towards "blacks" but it happens to whites (myself) Hispanics (my sons) and Polish (roommate). In our experiences, the store employees will assist you in switching purchases to other carts. I also have experiences bringing persons w intellectual disabilities in this location to independently shop. Although there was one issue mis-communication, staff has been willing to work w/ all persons irrespective of race, physical ability or intellectual/social aptitude. read more

I usually try to come early mornings when things are in stock but sometimes I come randomly during the day! Workers are all really friendly. I especially like Trini she's such a sweetheart. This is a great location. Right near several of your shopping or eating needs. The store is very big. It is clean and the cashiers are fast and friendly. What I love is the Deli. The type of lunch meat they offer is good and they have many meats and cheeses to choose from. The restroom is clean. They do have a bank located inside so it is convenient but I actually found them very rude and hard to bank with and went elsewhere. read more

This store has gone down hill! The only nice person left is Maurice. The manager Melanie is vindictive and rude...seems racist. The lady at the self checkout with glasses and black short hair is mean as a witch. No one wants to help you, they all seem like it's an inconvenience. Bread and fruit molds after one day... ive purchased meat thats smells bad... the customer servive for the disabled is horrible....worst customer experience multiple times....the smiths on losee and centennial is SO much better!!! Usually, I love this store. My discounts are jaw dropping and the team members are sweet. I did however, encounter a team member today. I did not get her name but, she was working the self check out area. My sister and I had been checking out with a team member, next to the self check out lane closest to the door, where the mini, bottle shots are. I asked for 2 mini bottles of tanqueray. She unlocks the cabinet, asks for my ID which was expected and, proceeded to check me out. I assured her I had been checking out in the next lane already. She takes the bottles of tanqueray, sticks Them in her register and tells me I have to come back to self check out, after checking out, (meaning I'd have to check out twice), to purchase my bottles. It didn't make sense to me. Why do I need to check out twice? I understand precaution from shoplifters, but follow me to the other lane why don't you so I can have 1 purchase on one card. Makes it easy on the shopper. That wasn't her motive unfortunately. So I go back to the isle with my sister, and complete our purchase, she comes over to the isle, without the bottles, mind you; had a small conversation with the team member that had been checking me out and asked me if I still wanted my bottles. I looked up and realized, it was the same woman who just told me I had to check out twice. I couldn't gather any other words except "no". I was frustrated and rather confused as to why she had not just followed me there in the first place, if she didn't really believe that I was checking out already. Even if it skipped her mind, why didn't she have the bottles in hand when she came over? I told her no because I don't really drink, had just wanted to try, and secondly, I mostly felt she was giving me a hard time and I didn't want to blame it on race at first. Me being a black woman, (she was a white woman), it didn't take me long to think that maybe it was racially motivated. I've thought about anything else it could have been with her. Hours later, I'm watching tv, and I put 2+2+2 together. tanqueray Was made famous by black rappers. That's actually how I knew about the beverage. I am black. I had nothing else in hand but my wallet because everything else was at the other register. She would have followed me to the isle if she didn't feel endangered by my presence, but I was told to come back to her isle to ensure her safety and to ensure that I wouldn't shoplift, which stealing, is a black stereotype. This woman stereotypes me and tries to cover it up and made herself look worse. I want this problem resolved and it will be resolved. You cannot assume every black person will steal from you. You cannot assume every black person cannot afford something. Or is troubled, or is a criminal. Or whatever else you may think of us. This will stop. If I must die putting a stop to it. read more
