Milk and Dairy are wonderful Delivery and customer service not so much. I have been ordering from Smith Brothers for decades and it sad to see quality of service decline. My milk has been delivered as late as 11:30 am when I complain I don't feel heard. they try to push me off the phone asap with no possible solutions to the issues offered. Frankly it sounds like they don't value customers. I don't want my delivery sitting on my porch all day. Does this company not understand we can get groceries delivered to our doors by other means. I made this amazing pasta using fresh ingredients I ordered from Smith farms: Italian pork sausage, freshly grated cheese, and for my cream sauce I just used whole milk because it's so lusciously rich and creamy that it makes a great "light" Alfredo. I am so incredibly disappointed in Smith Brothers. I have always found Smith Brothers Farms to have a great product, so I decided to joint their home delivery program I set my first order to arrive just before Thanksgiving. Upon delivery, I immediately check the expiration date and found that EVERYTHING expired within 10 days. The very same products are available at my local grocer with expiration dates much further out. So, first note was that I get older milk when I order directly from the farm NOT fresher milk. On Thanksgiving morning I got to work. I grabbed the heavy whipping cream and the first pour was a big clump. Great. No whipping cream. Sent hubby out to grab some. Then, I got to work on fresh bread just to find that the milk was also clumpy and separated. I took the loss, sent hubby back out to the store and kept it going. This morning, the day after thanksgiving and still a few days before the listed expiration date, I served a big breakfast. Guests went to add half and half to their coffee to find it was also not fresh. At this point, I can't feel comfortable serving anything that was delivered to my guests, so the whole order went into the trash. I wondered if my fridge could be the problem, so I checked the thermometers and other delicate foods to see if they had signs of spoilage. No issues were found. It is very clear that the Smith Brothers products were just miss-handled before delivery and not that fresh to begin with. I emailed Smith Brothers and got a generic reply and cancellation confirmation. No explanation of what went wrong or apology even. I am so deeply dissatisfied and warn you to think twice before ordering their delivery service. Just buy your dairy from the store. read more

We were long time Alpenrose delivery customers, Smith Bros took over about a year ago. The quality of products went down as well as having short dated dairy products,with less than a week for best by dates. Our delivery time was changed to 4:00 am, so either get up super early to grab the items or they sit out for hours.The delivery boxes only get ice packs in the hot summer. The delivery person also made enough noise to wake our dog, thus barking and waking the household. In the event of quality issues, refunds are not made but credits to your next delivery. We canceled, there isn't anything they sell that we can't get locally at Safeway for cheaper. read more

My wife and I have been customers for 30-plus years. We've only had to contact Customer Service five times or fewer during that time, and they always resolve our issues quickly and in a friendly manner. The Smith Brothers products are always high quality; the only problems we've ever had were with products supplied by other companies. They occasionally sell out of products, which can be annoying, but we always have other options available for those rare occurances. Third week in a row to get milk delivered at unsafe temps (45-50 degrees) right off the truck. Ironically I wasn't even supposed to get the milk this week--I called to get a credit and cancel my account last week, apparently customer service is faulty as well. We've also heard all three weeks "I'm sorry we haven't heard about any issues with warm milk" even though I know I've personally spoken with them multiple times now about it, my neighbors are experiencing the same. I called SBF and the woman I spoke with today regarding my need to test the product , I asked her if I can order one time delivery ... she sounded extremely lazy in answering any question I had. I heard a sigh in her voice answering to any of my questions. There was a dead air silence in replying to me. Ultimately, I thought maybe I should just go ahead and check out the website. The website clearly says something about an option for one time delivery. I placed items in shopping cart and looked for an option for one time delivery so I am not tied to receiving Same items every week or even every other week. I don't need the same items so frequently but I could not find option to select one time delivery. I went ahead and placed my order anyway thinking that I can call back and speak with a human being to make it one time delivery. When I called back the place after placing my first order, the woman who answered my phone was extremely rude in her tone. Extremely unfriendly! I asked her about the one time delivery. She said that is not an option . Either I have to receive the delivery every week or every other week I said okay then cancel my order She really didn't care and quickly said she will cancel the order!!! Wow !!!!! They have really good dairy products which is why I keep them, but they really need to ditch the harvest box. 2 out of the 3 I have ordered have had moldy or rotten produce in them. The most recent had a tiny head of lettuce that was rotten and the description of the box said it should have been a Cascade crunch mix. read more

The main reason I'm leaving a 1-star review here is because they intentionally make it difficult to cancel the service. We had Smith Brothers delivery service for a short while. The products were fine but the delivery time did not work for us. Delivery was at 4 AM and the driver would come zooming up the street and would enter our driveway at a very fast speed. All our dogs would wake up and bark so even though most times I was lying in bed awake, others in the house were awakened. I canceled the service due to the fact that delivery time could not be changed. I did report to Customer Service about the driver speeding through our development. I have a milk man! When I was a kid we had a milk man that delivered glass bottles in a crate to our front door. Those days are looong gone, or so I thought! Smith Brothers was introduced to me by a friend. Now my milk, cream, bacon - utterly delicious bacon and deli ham are delivered every Tuesday. They have many, many products but these are my go to's. Make sure your order is what you want 2 days before delivery. For instance; I firm up my decision by Sunday night to go with our Tuesday delivery date, and all is good. They delivered a white, non-descript, insulated box on my front porch and they include ice packs with the milk etc. to keep everything cold. I do wish they had other yogurt brands, I'm not happy with their high carb yogurt. Orders over $10 have free delivery. (PS: Milk is not delivered in glass bottle's.) read more

But then my wallet went missing, my credit card canceled and then nothing in our box. An email told us our credit card didn't work, "oh yeah, we cancelled it, I need to put a new one in." We we're overstocked with cheese, so I made the mistake of waiting a couple of weeks before going to the website to put in a new card. But, the website was down. A week later I tried on a weekend and saw "your account has been frozen, call Monday - Friday (it was Saturday so had to wait until the weekend was over, no problem .... I have nothing bad to say about smith brothers. They deliver milk to your house that is yummy. They have other options for their weekly deliveries, but you come use them for milk. Imagine my surprise when I went in to make my order today only to discover that WITHOUT NOTICE they raised the minimum I have to spend to get free delivery. Two weeks ago it was $10 today it is $15 that is a big jump. More importantly they didn't advise us of the change. We've been getting milk and all sorts of other goodies from Smith Brothers Farms for 7-8 years. We love their milk! It tastes so much better than what we used to get from the grocery stores, plus it gets delivered right to us. What's not to love!? We've been through a few different milkmen over the years but they've all been great. Our deliveries usually come around 5am which is perfect for us. We have just started using this service about a month ago and I am very pleased! My 4yo daughter LOVES this milk and apparently is a milk snob herself haha this is THE ONLY milk she drinks all of. Other milks (and we've tried almost all brands) she drinks some, and tosses the rest. Our delivery is here when we get up by 5:15AM on Friday (even after an earthquake! Although they've turned in their glass bottles for the standard milk carton, it's still pretty cool to say, why yes, I do get my milk delivered to my front door! I signed up since my friend uses their service and I had a $10 coupon to trial them out - not a huge drinker of milk but when my little one switched to milk, I decided to try Smith Brothers out to get one less thing off my plate. It's a pretty easy online ordering system (you set up a standard recurring order but can freely modify it) and haven't had any issues in the past month that we've been subscribers. They leave a nice "milk box" in front of your door in which they deliver your milk to. I wished that there was some sort of signal or an estimated time frame so that I know when to go get my milk. I rather not let the milk spoil! The prices is slightly higher than the grocery store by ~$1-2 / 1/2 gallon of milk, which isn't toooooo bad. When we are at an event at Pt Defiance Zoo, Smith Bros had a booth promoting home delivery - signed up (they had a good promo) and for the last 6 months have been enjoying the best milk - I've had in years! I've seen their truck in our neighborhood and thought I would give their service a try. It's been just over two months now and so far so good. Our first delivery hit a snag when the milkman missed dropping off our box and instead had our groceries in an insulated bag. Once I reached out to customer service, the box was dropped off on the next delivery. We keep our standing bi-weekly order and add items online for a one time delivery. They offer weekly specials as well as seasonal items. You place your order online specifying frequency (next delivery, weekly, every other week), add the item/s to your cart and that's it! They send you a confirmation email almost immediately. No need to put your payment type every time you place or update an order. Product variety is good although I wish they carried more produce and deli items. They do carry products which we have tried for the first time like baked goods from Alki Bakery and Coeur d'Alene Bakery, Blazing Bagels, Beecher's and Stumptown Roasters. Yes... they cost slightly more than the grocery store, but you always pay a bit more for convenience don't you? I'm convinced they save us money since we rarely make th emergency trip to the store for one or two items. It's wonderful to treat your self sometimes. One of our families big treats is having Smith Brother's milk delivered to our home. The milk taste better than what I see at the stores. It's such a treat knowing once a week fresh milk will be delivered to our house. They deliver other things. We are thinking about having them deliver our turkey. As a Smith Brothers customer there is a milk box at our house. That's convenient to if someone leaves their hat or something at our house I can just leave it for them in the milk box. When I drive around and see other people's mailboxes i'm happy that they are treating themselves too. When I meet people that are new to the area I often give them a half a gallon of our milk. read more

It was a challenge to get signed up as they originally stated they didn't provide service in our area, but I was finally able to convince them since a neighbor a few doors down was already set up for service. The website is very handy and convenient to skip deliveries or modify your order. The milk is always fresh, the cartons are never damaged and the delivery truck must have some kind of super quiet stealth motor because after 2+ years of service I have yet to hear them drop off.
