I was in need of an extraction and I had my fill with the run around at other offices. They had me at hello. The environment is welcoming, clean well decorated and coordinated. The staff was beautiful, professional and pleasant. They really made an uncomfortable desperate situation affordable and convenient. They were quick and they had a payment plan that discounted more than others. I was considering a trip to Mexico and instead I'll chose to stick with 'Palo Verde dentistry'. I am actually looking forward to being treated right on my next visit. I would recommend them to all of my friends and family. I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a dental office. I was overcharged $3,700, which didn't seem right. When I questioned it, I was given multiple conflicting explanations--first that my insurance hadn't paid, then that insurance checks hadn't been cashed, and later that the payments were only for future work. After contacting my insurance directly, I was able to confirm that checks had already been issued, received, and cashed by the office. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, the process turned into months of back-and-forth where I had to repeatedly prove that I was being overcharged. During this time, I was treated rudely, and the office manager, Celina, even made an inappropriate and offensive comment implying I had a mental learning disability. Eventually, after all the evidence was presented multiple times, they corrected the overcharge--but by then the damage was done. My implant was left incomplete, and I now have to go to another dentist to finish the work. This entire experience was stressful, frustrating, and completely avoidable. I would not recommend this office to anyone. Save yourself the time, money, and hassle. read more

I love this dentist but I am at a lost. It takes me forever to get in for a cleaning. I finally got in after 2 years this week for a cleaning. I suspect that is because the benefit year ends on June 30th and my new benefit year starts on July 1st. I literally have to wait until I have a dental emergency to get in such as a crown come off. I literally walked around with a cracked front tooth. The frustrating part is that all that waiting and the fact that I need work done, I am screwed. I now need 3 crowns. I can't use this benefit year. $1500 unused benefits. I have to wait until July 1. I will use all of my benefits up in the first 2 months and I have to pay for all of my cleanings out of pocket and around $2000 for crowns. I feel like I am being taking advantage of. They should pay for the cleanings next year if I have to fork out $2000 in crowns because I couldn't get in for cleanings. I made appts and they canceled due to short staff. I am the one that paid for it. Nobody called me back to come up with a plan. I have dental insurance for these situations but I should be able to get in for cleanings. My insurance covers preventative cleanings. I am so angry about this. They had an opening on June 21 at 10 am so they said they could do it. Today, June 20. I am still waiting for a call back from dentist for a solution. I called my dental insurance company and learned that if the dentist bills for the crowns on the first appt, it will go in before June 30 ins deadline for this year. The insurance pays when the dentist office bills not when the crown is put into my mouth on the 2nd appt, which is in July. This changes so much. I could have gotten it started before my insurance starts a new deductible year on July 1 and that means I would be paying less out of pocket and use my benefits. I called the dentist office and they denied everything and then said that the appointment is no longer available. The part that pisses me off is that I was screwed over by this clinic and now I get to spend the next several months in pain again. I do not understand how I see reviews where other new patients get in quickly and it takes me forever to get in. They cancel my appointments without warning. read more

This was a very pleasant dental experience, even though I had "the dreaded root canal" on 14 and a surgical extraction on 13 (two upper molars). The extraction required a palatal injection (i.e. an injection on the roof of your mouth which generally isn't pleasant). I opted for nitrous, which was excellent. The two hour appointment felt like 20 minutes, and I experienced absolutely NO pain. The injections were painless, the root canal was painless, and the only thing I felt during the extraction was pressure. Dr. Phan really is an expert. She isn't very talkative, but that's okay. When I have a bite guard and a dental dam in my mouth, I'm not going to be very talkative anyway (aside from the giggling and humming I was doing, courtesy of the nitrous). Danielle, her assistant, was very kind. I let her know that I get a little claustrophobic and I may need her to suction my mouth more frequently, and she said "if you need me to suction, just point." Whenever I pointed, they immediately stopped and she made sure I was comfortable. This meant a lot to me that they wanted to make sure I was comfortable through the entire procedure. The only issue I have, and this is a very minor one, is that they didn't send me home with discharge instructions even though I had a surgical extraction. She did send me home with a prescription for powerful pain relievers just in case, but I do not need them. I just took Aleve the first day, and after that, I'm completely fine. All-in-all, my first visit was a success. I'm going back in three weeks to get the permanent crown placed, and I'll update the review as necessary. Thanks, Dr. Phan and company! read more

My experience led to many months of pain & eventual loss of tooth. I went to get my fillings done in multiple appointments & noticed I came out with pain & it kept getting worse. I was assured that it was normal so I trusted the staff here. I couldn't even eat like a normal person anymore because it would be so painful to even bite down. I had to walk around with an ice pack on my face & would get horrible migraines. I would mention it to Dr. Phan but she assured me that is was normal & would she would end up grinding down my fillings to correct the bite. So I googled my symptoms & to what I found I was showing signs of pulpitis/infection. I went in again specifically for the pain because it kept getting worse & I had mentioned my theory but was laughed at. I was assured I didn't have pulpitis/infection. So I trusted again! All my teeth, jaw, face & head hurt so bad!!! this went on for months & remember agonizing in pain on the floor. I wondered when this would go away. I tried what was recommended which was an expensive mouth guard that only made the pain worse & I went in to also do a fluoride treatment on my teeth as was recommended to help the pain. NOPE IT DIDN"T!!! When I went to buy the mouth guard the cashier asked me why I had Ice on my face & I told her & she bet me it was an infection. She was familiar with them so she was very convinced based on my symptoms & even recommended I go to her her dentist instead. I was breaking down because the pain was so bad & my body would shake from the pain. I am not big on pills at all so I tried to avoid the scary narcotics pills for pain ( a bit of pill/med phobia) but I did end up forced to take lots of advil. There was many nights I COULDN'T SLEEP FROM THE PAIN!! So after many months of this I finally went to another dentist (Day 1) where they immediately diagnosed me with pulpitis/infection. They gave me antibiotics & strong pills for the pain but I wanted Dr. Phan's opinion again so I went to her right away (day 2) & she assured me I didn't have an infection/pulpitis. She said there was no need for me to take the antibiotics! She grinded down my fillings again & had one of the worst nights of my life in the most severe pain ever! I was crying all night in pain & agonizing! So my hubby took me to an emergency dentist the next day (day3) & the 3rd dentist diagnosed me right away with pulpitis/infection. She immediately started a root canal but the infection was so bad that after approx 4 hours she couldn't finish & found complications. She said the infection had been sitting there for months!!! She had to postpone the rest of my root canal. There was so much puss I could smell the disgusting stuff & tasting it. The pain was so bad & I had to keep taking advils because I was still too afraid to take the bigger scarier pills even though I probably should of based on the horrible pain. To this day I haven't touched those big pain pills. My face was more swollen, my jaw had a mass that was swollen too. I just wanted all the puss/infection gone so I could have pain relief. I went in for second part of root canal but again there was complications & they couldn't finish. I sat there for hours while the anesthetic no longer wanted to work on me so I began to feel the tools going into my nerves. I was crying out in severe pain so they had to send me to a specialist. The specialist said there was no saving this tooth & that indeed the infection was there for months. They tried to numb my tooth but found complications too because they called it a hot tooth that couldn't get numb. After many tries they finally numbed it enough to at least proceed. I watched little pieces of my tooth being taken out 1by1. They showed me the xrays before and after of the infection & how it was finally gone though I still had to continue the antibiotics. I was so happy it was finally out & was finally crying happy tears though the pain was very bad when the anesthetics faded. It seemed like a miracle but it was definitely a traumatic experience & hate to see dentist offices to this day. It is sad I had to suffer so many many months & the expensive bills & loss of my tooth not to mention trauma. The rest of the pain disappeared after my gum healed. Unfortunately I have trouble eating because I can't afford to get a new tooth & have a lot of bone loss now. Since I was already missing 2 teeth on both sides of the top do to not being able to afford root canal many years ago It makes it harder to chew on the side that is missing 2 teeth vs the one but I only have a couple teeth that work to chew so I fear I will end up getting another infection there since it is the only side I can use. My teeth are so messed up that I bite my cheeks often. The other 2 different dentist I went to showed me on the xrays what infections look like & how they could see it. So there was 3 days straight that I went to 3 different dentist including Dr.Phan in the middle. The others seen infection but she didn't read more

"IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR RIPPED-OFF OR BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE, THIS IS THE ONE". "This dental office has really bad customer service and is not honest/open to their customers. It was like you need to pay whatever I told you to pay and after that, none is m business. I went to the office around end of year December to check up my teeth and Dr. recommended to have two crowns. I decided to have one crown treatment on that day and asked for payment breakout. They gave me payment breakout lists for 2 crowns but it did not list and informed me the details of the breakout. After that, I was charged over $715 for just one crown (without other treatment like root canal). After one week, I received bill statement from insurance company which has different bill statement being claimed. Based on the statement, it said client only needs to pay $392. As a customer, of course I will call back again and ask why there is big discrepancy. The dental office front desk lady Stacy said she will call me back once they received "their dental office bill statement" and explained to me why. Guess what, they never called me back, I called them about 3 times, they made as many as excuses they can like they need to go over the details and then they will call me back. But they never called me "once". So I decided to call my insurance company to find out more details. My insurance company decided to have conference call ( 3 ways communications) but didn't succeed cause they said dental office was not willing to do so and the office will call me back later (Again, same excuses to prolong ) . Following are the explanations from the insurance company: 1. "There is $200 additional charges didn't show on insurance bill statement which was called upgrade fees and customer was agreed to sign to pay. " $200" was also because the crown was made on the same day service so customer does not need to come back second time" Fact: I didn't sign any papers and agree to upgrade anything. In whole procedure, no one told me the crown will be made on the same day and that $200 was going to pay for that. I was like waiting on my chair about a long time and asked them why needed to wait that long and then they said "oh, the crown can be made on the same day." As a service provider, you have obligation to tell your clients what they are paying for and procedures. For me, you office did not open and honest to your customers and sort of blinding your customers .. The dental office I went to before I moved to Arizona, they always explained and asked me if I am willing to upgrade the materials of my crown and what's the price difference. This is the way to do business and not rip off from your customers. 2. There is another $145 charges which was billed wrongly cause the dental office needs to tell insurance company they have a machine which can make crown on site and on the same day. The insurance company said they can reimburse portions from the bills. Fact: The front desk lady Stacy said "You should call you insurance company and see when will reimburse us, it is not our responsibility". Really? ! This is your GREAT customer service? After you got customer's money, none of your business is my business. So, the follows are the complains: 1. As a service provider, you have responsibility to tell your customers what they are paying for instead of blinding your customers. You have your customer paid these fees without letting me know at the first time that the crown can be made on the same day. It is not a good way to make business. 2. Customers service attitude is horrible and arrogant. I asked Stacy why you never called me back and I am waiting for your calls. She said because I don't want to argue with you on the phone. Hello..!! Your customer has questions and just want to know why I got billing discrepancies and YOU PROMISED ME YOU WILL CALL ME BACK!!! They treat patients like an ATM. I cracked a tooth. EXTREME pain right now. Got a Saturday ( today visit). I told the front desk BEFORE I went back that I didn't get paid until Wednesday ( a few days), and that I just paid to fix my roof so money is tight. After being examined and X rayed they explained what they could do and that my portion would be $160. They weren't sure they could even help m today as Phan's schedule was tight. I told them I could only pay $100 today. I was told by their office manager they don't do payment plans , they could try and get me some dental credit plan. I told them I didn't want to do that. It was $160 today or nothing. I told them I was unable to do that. So I came in pain , left in pain- they did nothing for me - I offered to pay my bill (around $60) as I left. They wanted to bill my insurance etc but I didn't want to hear from them again so I insisted I pay it all now because I wanted nothing to do with them ( contact me after insurance etc). . I complained and to shut me up they wiped the bill clean. They are all about the money. My $100 today plus insurance ( and $60 in 3 business days) wasn't enough to help me. Forget about helping me because I was in pain - they did nothing - nothing - they wouldn't even do it for 2/3 my portion today , the rest in a few days ( as well as gouging my insurance) THEY ARE ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. They don't care if you hurt. They are very high tech - and I understand they need to pay off all their high tech equipment - My opinion : Pham sucks! Palo verde dental sucks! Came in pain , left in pain - they use your pain to extort money from you. It's just white collar crime - they knew exactly my finances before I even went to a room , and then after exam it was "pay up or get out" - the officer manager specifically said "we do not do payment plans". I hadn't been into Dr Phan since 2017 and they treated me fabulous. Looking forward to addressing the teeth they will be crowning and filling on the 30th. I have been going to Dr. Phan for several years and have been very happy with her. My problem started when they kept overcharging me after I already paid. I get a call from the front office weeks later stating I have to pay $185 more. I asked why and the front office rudely stated "well you signed for it so you have to pay" Not even a explanation of the charge. I had this happen to me before without explanation so I guess it is my fault for trusting them again. There are so many more great dentists around so I will go elsewhere. Update: I went to another dentist and they were so much better in every aspect! They also told me they get a lot of other patients due to the same issues I had with Palo Verde. Dr. Phan is my go to dentist. I had a 10 year old crown replaced about six months ago and I do not have any complaints. Initially I was very apprehensive because my previous dental work in Texas was horrible and I was very scared of going through the whole process again. Dr. Phan explained every single step and reassured me everything was going to be ok. Sure enough everything went great and I felt silly I was so nervous. Dr. Phan made the crown in office, she takes pride in her work and wanted the crown to look and fit perfectly.
