I called 2 times and informed billing about the code and when I went to my appointment I made it clear I didn't want to have the evaluation if they used another code. I was told on the phone and at the appointment they would use that specific code. When I want to pay the bill at checkout they told me total bill is $445. I had to pay out of pocket and they would send to my insurance company. The other charge was for Radiographic imaging. I thought everything was part of the evaluation but I paid it thinking the insurance company would pay 80%. They did not use the code number I gave them for billing and out of $445 charge the insurance company only paid $66. When I called billing about this matter they said they don't use that billing code I questioned why 3 times they told me they do and gave them the code each time. This was a problem for me due to being out of work from surgery and didn't have a lot of money to spend for a consultation. I feel I was lied to and not properly informed about the additional charges for the Radiographic. Needless to say I will not go back for the second consultation to discuss what dental procedures they recommend.

In that time I saw at least 5 different dentists at the location I went to. I had about that many different hygienists. I had 2 crowns installed, one which did not fit without grinding down the top until it was almost flat. After that food kept getting stuck between that crown and the crown above, eventually causing tooth decay under the crown above the "almost flat one". The top tooth had to be extracted in January this year because the dentist said it was a good possible it could not be saved and I was not ready to spend the money to try and save it and the possibility of it needed extracted in the end. Now, after only 3 years the poorly fitted crown has a cavity under it again (decay under the original crown). The original crown had been there for 10 years. So, was crown not properly sealed underneath? I have learned the hard way less expensive dental care is not the best route. I don't want a different dentist and hygienist almost everytime I go for a checkup. Wish I had read the posts on Yelp before I went there.
