We reserved this space for my dad's 80th birthday. I really appreciate that you didn't have to do much decorating the space is already classy, beautiful and ready to go! Plus it comes with a bar tender! Paula the owner was super responsive and ACCOMMODATING via email and made the process seamless. She even accommodated food preference choices. Our package came with finger foods/ hors d'oeuvres. I thought the food was ok, the selection of food was kind of not age appropriate for the event but the owner would have and WAS receptive to changes even within the same price range. The bar tender was super accommodating with the music as well. Over all I would rent this place again in a heart beat I would just have a bigger budget for food. I am so grateful to Paula and her beautiful, affordable space!

Fun seasonal/themed menus for any kind of holiday or events. Plus, the place to be for celebratory Chambongs. Came here with my girl friends for a quick bite before watching the Taylor Swift eras tour at the Esquire IMAX theater, and it was awesome. Love the Pumpkin Curry Soup, fall bruschetta, and of course the Chambongs. It's been awhile since we took shots, but the Casaamigo tequila was really good. Had a vanilla aftertaste. Highly recommend stopping by on your night out in midtown.

Afternoon tea

This review is for their afternoon tea. I love that a bar offers afternoon tea lol (first Saturday of the month here), not a place you'd expect to have afternoon tea, that's for sure! At $38 per set (portions are definitely good for two people) and $14 for a pot of tea, prices are definitely on the lower end. I have to say though that for the quality you get, it definitely isn't worth any more than that. Everything seemed store-bought and not fresh, and nothing really tickled my fancy taste-wise. Parking is also very difficult in this area. We parked in a garage a couple blocks away and paid about $10 for a couple hours or so. Presentation was nice and service was fine; I just wish the food tasted better!

I give this place a 10/10. We went here for a girlfriend's birthday. It was about 12 of us. From the beginning, it was a great vibe. The ambiance was everything we wanted. Very welcoming. It gave a cozy feeling, but also felt vibrant and lively at the same time. Our server, Steven was amazing! He didn't make us feel rushed, he was attentive to our needs, gave us descriptions of the menu/drink items we asked about, and at the end of the night, celebrated the birthday girl with us! The bartender made each drink to perfection. No drink was too weak, too sweet, or anything negative. About the food: -The girls in our party said the bread pudding was good. But I don't like soggy bread so it's a no for me. They said the flavor was amazing and consistency was exactly what bread pudding is supposed to be like. -Charcuterie board had a great variety. The cheese was good, the fruit was fresh, the veggies were pickled to perfection, and the bread wasn't toasted too hard. The only thing we didn't like was the pit inside of the olives. But that wasn't a deal breaker.. We still ate em! -Hummus, ON POINT!! -Pesto pizza, AMAZING -Mac n cheese, meh.. there was some kind of sweetness to it that none of us liked. It wasn't gross though. Just a sweetness that we aren't used to. Shortly after our event, the owner followed up with an email just to see about our experience. I've never had that happen before. We will definitely be back!

Got d awful low quality frozen food that is like from Costco packaged foods. It's displayed in an unprofessional manner and it's literally mictiowaced. Why would anyone patronize this place ?the chicken was dry and disgusting.i got really sick from this food.

The best happy hour spot in Sac! I came here on a Thursday, ordered everything on the happy hour menu and was more than impressed! The garlic peanuts were shockingly tasty, the chicken quesadilla was delicious, and who doesn't love Brussel sprouts. The vibe here is dark and moody. The velvet couches and mix of large and small tables makes this spot perfect for a small date night or a kickoff spot for a bachelorette party.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Went with a friend to have a girls night to get a couple drinks and catch up. Walked in and was immediately drawn in to the vibes. Many options of places to sit. They were having an event but still accommodated others who were not attending. Great customer service as the three people I saw working behind the bar that night came to check in with us. Did not get anything to eat but will be trying their food the next time I go.

Located across the IMAX. Indoor/Outdoor seating ..the indoor being pretty cute with little sitting areas and a bar (long side had hooks underneath). The food is made in-house with few vegan options. They had a specialty cocktail list and it's nice to see different concoctions or modified classics.. I tried leaving my card to open a tab and was refused and told they just cash you out in the end. Personally, I wouldn't trust a drunk to walk away without paying.. but perhaps it's a Covid thing.

A hidden gem! We came for the dessert and it did not disappoint! Boozie apple pie with homemade whipped cream... mmm mmm good! The ambiance was perfect. It felt like we were walking in to a big living room/lounge space with comfy seating all around. There was a dining space with a beautiful rug under a big dining table and wonderful lighting throughout the whole space. What I appreciated most was the owner. I did not catch her name but she was as sweet as can be. 3 weeks after having a little baby and she was back in the hustle and bustle of business owning! WOW!!! And.... She ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT HER CUSTOMERS which is so abnormal and SOOOO refreshing! I would go back just for her. Try this place and you will not be disappointed. It's a fun spot for an evening out!!!

First time visiting Smic's last night and holy happy heifer was it amazing! First, the location is dope because they have a quaint, and relaxing patio space and it's off the crazier part of K street. While we couldn't eat/drink inside, we did venture in for a few minutes and the decor inside is rad! Really spacious and classy, but not pretentious and ritzy. Second, the menu. OMG that menu! We ate almost everything on there and every item exceeded our expectations. I will wholeheartedly vouch for that mac & cheese, margarita flatbread, and charcuterie number. Everything tasted fresher than fresh and I truly couldn't stop stuffing food in my yapper. When it started to become painful in my midsection, I finally figured out I should stop. From a sippables standpoint, they had a simple but sophisticated selection of wines and beers, all local, of course. Last, but certainly not least, the service was great! Our glasses never ran dry, we got a killer recommendation on prosciutto in our mac and just all around had a great time. This is a phenomenal date spot or a cool joint to meet friends for a relaxed happy hour. Just make sure to get a reservation until they're able to open back up inside.

Just get it. This is also a small board!!

Perfect outdoor space during codv! My mother and I came to check out this cute place and wish I remembered to take a photo when I was inside to use the restroom. Great friendly service from every single lady. #inthecompanyofwomen My mother was impressed and she's very critical about tastes. She appraised the flat beard and our charcuterie board; especially, the cheeses! Those were her favorite. I love my beer and rosé! Great beer recommendation from the staff. Definitely coming back when I'm in the valley again!!

Number One Spot For Vegan Pizza!…read more SITREP On our way back to my place after a successful haul at the Saturday Midtown Farmer's Market and we come across this spot. We were hungry. We LOVE pizza! What's not to try? THE SETUP What is novel about their business plan is that they cater to BOTH vegans and carnivores! Often you get into a spot and you discover that the restaurant has no viable vegan options, OR it's a vegan spot that has no options outside that. PIZZASAURUS REX.... ...welcomes ALL! We wanted to try their Vegan Pepperoni Pizza - with both vegan mozzarella and vegan pepperoni (all plant-based) - generous portions of all the ingredients including the sweet basil! INCIDENTALS If you enjoy walking, getting there on foot is a better option considering all the parking is on the street. If you live in Midtown hood, you don't have to worry about it! THE LOWDOWN The pizza is delicious and reasonably priced considering the size of the rectangle-shaped pie!

Nice They have seating outside in front on the sidewalk. Also some outside dinning in the back of the place. You order first from the counter and then find a place to sit down and eat. They have a water station near the counter. Also the bathroom in to the right of the counter. The lady at the register was very friendly and explained the special by the slice pizza. Also you can order a pizza half one topping and the other another topping which was what we went with. We got the regular combo and the vegetarian the other half. I got a table at the top in the back. The table was a little dirty and had not been wiped down. Had to do it ourselves. The manager was across from us but didn't say anything along with another worker. Oh well. It wasn't very busy inside. They had a couple of people on the outside tables and two tables taken inside. Pretty empty otherwise. The lady told us that it would be 22 minutes for our pizza to be ready. I think we got it in 20. These are not the traditional round type. They are square and a good size to. It was 44 bucks for this pizza since we had water to drink. They crust was the best part. Nice an crispy. The vegetarian was not bad. I Liked it . The Combo was just adding salami and pepperoni. It was alright. I liked the veggi better. A lot of my wife's friends said they really liked this place. I thought it was nice but the drive from Elk Grove was a bit for this pizza. Which I thought was just ok. At least we tried it. Not bad. If I was in the area then yes.

La Porta Came here…read moreon a Saturday for a friend's birthday with a large group of 17, and we didn't have reservations--so we knew it might be a bit of a challenge. At the time, they had one cook and a manager who was also acting as the bartender and server for the whole floor. You could tell he was a little nervous at first with such a big party, but honestly, he handled it really well. He was friendly, energetic, and super transparent about what they were out of since everything is made fresh. He also did a great job explaining the dishes and cocktails, which we appreciated. Our group was pretty easygoing, and overall the experience felt fun and relaxed. The food came out looking (and tasting) amazing across the board. I ordered the gluten-free hot honey pizza, and it was a standout--perfect crust, nice balance of sweet and heat, and loaded with cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. Definitely a win. One of my friends also ordered gluten-free and tried the pesto chicken pizza. Unfortunately, that one missed the mark--the chicken was overcooked, the pesto flavor was off, and the pizza itself was a bit bland. However, when she mentioned it, the server immediately made it right by remaking her pizza and not charging for it, which we really appreciated. The space itself has a great vibe--cute aesthetics and it sounds like they host events during the week like DJs and art nights, which is a fun touch. Parking can be a little tricky since it's on a busy intersection, but manageable. Overall, a really solid experience, especially considering our group size and no reservation. I'd definitely come back and would love to see gluten-free pasta options added in the future!

When we arrived at 7pm on a Wednesday we were concerned because it was semi-empty. So we thought "oh gosh the food isn't going to be good"! But it was amazing- this restaurant has so much potential to be sold out 7 nights a week!

We started with the shishito peppers, which were great and came with a really memorable miso aioli that was very addictive with a hint of lemon. We also got the "Fun Guy" pizza to share and made the mistake of removing the goat cheese, which I think hurt it. The crust was excellent and the toppings were fresh, but it felt like it was missing that salty, funky balance the goat cheese would've added. Still very good, but that one's on me. I'd definitely get it as intended next time. One of my favorite breweries, especially with so many having closed over the past few years. Cheers to them.

But every time I visit Paesanos I get both of those things. On my most recent visit to the restaurant, I had the pleasure of being served by Clemens. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and helped me find the perfect meal(Fettucine Arrositi) to fit my current dietary restrictions. He also helped my grandma find something on the menu that wouldn't be too carb heavy since she is diabetic. He was pleasant all around, he was patient with my grandma all night and made me feel like he truly valued our time and didn't rush us. He is everything you want in a server-kind,direct,knowledgeable, and dependable. I would come back any time just to get customer service like that. Now on to the food, I had the Fettucine Arrositi which I believe is their signature dish. I have had it before but this time it was especially delicious. The sauce has a flavor like no other pasta I've ever had it's rich but not too rich creamy but not too creamy and the thing that sets it apart from other creamy pastas is the subtle Cajun flavor. It tastes a bit like old bay and Tabasco to me with some other amazing things in it I'm sure but it was delicious 9/10 My grandma likes to order a lot of things for the table because she never got to have that so she ordered a bunch of things for herself to try and for me to finish. We had the meatballs and they were fantastic but she felt they were too big haha 9/10. Then we had the calamari which was my favorite of the appetizers we ordered. I'm hoping next time to try the polenta fries. Then for her main course my grandma had the wedge salad which she loved but she did mention she wished it had lots more bacon and I can't blame because I too always want more bacon on things. All in all it was a great experience and I will be back very soon.
