One of my friend's and mine's favorite spots in Midtown for a good time. We've been coming her for quite a while now and even though they are getting more popular and busy everyday, the service has never wavered and the drinks are always great. Whether you want an espresso martini, mojito, wine, cider, or jello shots you can get it here. Most recently they have been rolling out amazing jello shots for $5 that are flavors like sour peach ring, mangonada, and espresso martini. They have two patios and a small elevated outdoor section, the newest patio is huge and always packed with people. I love coming here to see who we meet and chat with. Definitely recommend coming if you've never been to support a small family run business. read more

Sunday, 5/17/2026 - Went to Karma Brew to celebrate a friend's bday. Address is 1530 16th St, Sacramento, CA 95814 (Midtown). This is cute little bar. Met the manager (make owner. Mike, I think it's his name) and the team. They allow pets inside. They were 2 dogs. They were so friendly. The staffs are all so very nice! Upon arrival... Pros 1) cute bar. Love it. All the staffs here are so nice. I learned a lot of the decorations in this bar belonged the the owner's grandfather. He tried to bring a little of England bar to CA. Decors are cute and interesting. I like it. 2) they have 2 section of outside seating. 3) they have a few tables and chairs inside. 4) I heard there's an upper area. But it wasn't open this day. 5) my friend's love the drink they got. I don't recall what is called. But you can see from the picture. 6) we also got the pretzel and cheese dip and another dip. This was really good. 7) nice alcohol menu. 8) there's a dessert menu as well. 9) love that they celebrated and ate some cake with us. Even took photos with us! Cons 1) bathroom is outside bar. It's for men or women. 1 stall. You gotta lock the door. 2) street parking. Paid parking. Unless you get lucky in the neighborhood, you MIGHT find a free spot to park. No parking lot of their own. Conclusion I love this bar. Cozy. Quaint. Great and friendly staffs. If you haven't been here, go check them out. I recommend this place for an outing. read more

Karma Brew has quickly become one of my favorite spots! The staff is always so welcoming, friendly, and attentive. They genuinely make you feel at home from the moment you walk in. The drinks are bomb (especially if you're an espresso martini fan), and the atmosphere is the perfect mix of cozy and fun. I switched it up, though, and Got their pineapple spicy Marg. I thought it was yummy. Perfect balance of citrus and spice. I have heard good reviews about this place and decided to try their mimosas with my sister and unfortunately, we were disappointed. The mimosas tasted like beer with strawberry syrup added. Great friendly local bar! Location: Located across the street from John C. Fremont park on the corner of 16th and P street. 16th has a lot of great bars and Karma is such a great anchor. While not the biggest bar, there is also patio and seating on the sidewalk along the bar. Karma also has a second floor that can be rented with space to host a small cozy party with friends. The second floor has a great view of the park as well. Bathroom is just outside the bar. Service: What makes this place so great is the bar staff. They are super friendly to regulars and newbies alike. Also while the line can get long they are pretty quick at getting drink ordered filled. Despite how busy it can get I haven't had to wait in the line very long. Drinks/Food: They have a nice selection of rotating drinks and it's something that I love to try out every time I am here. I was meeting up some friends and they happen to be at Karma brew. Inside it's super cute and it's decorated very different. I don't know how to explain it but I like it. It has a patio in the front . The restroom is outside you need a key but it's not far and it was clean as well . The young man that helped us was very nice and attentive you order at the front and get your drinks there also . I got the Karma French 75 a twist of the original French 75 good classic drink . Our other friends got the beers and they really enjoyed the beers there as well. First impressions - cool cozy bar in Midtown. Perfect place to visit during the cold December evenings, especially with their selection of hot drinks. Perhaps it's also the holidays, but the decor gives the place quite a bit of kitschy charm. Drinks were solid and if I recall correctly, decently priced at around $12-$13 a pop for ours. The space is a bit on the small side, so perhaps not the best place for larger crowds. It wasn't crazy crowded the evening we went; however, I still found myself bumping into the person behind me due to the close quarter seating. Definitely on my list of bars to revisit. I came here for the very first time with my friend to celebrate her birthday. Ever since I stopped drinking in 2019 I don't get out to bar as much but I'm glad we stopped in to check this one out because it's so cute inside. Very whimsical. I was honestly surprised at the variety of drinks and very happy that they were able to make me a mocktail. Service was good and quick too! It's small inside, but I enjoyed sitting across from the bar downstairs and getting to take everything in! There is also an upstairs area that has more seating and a bathroom. There is a bar upstairs, but it's not staffed. I don't live far so I walked to this bar, but it's midtown parking so you may have to drive around a bit, but a spot isn't usually too far. read more

This was one of the two bars stop that we did with Sac Brew Bike Company (which was a lot of fun btw). Just want to add to my previous review to note how wonderful the staff here are! My friends and I came back to close out our night and the staff recognized us. We had some snacks with us from our plans earlier in the night and offered them to our bartender. After we received our drinks, we went upstairs to hang out and enjoy. About half an hour later, Baby brought us two different desserts on the house! They were a melted chocolate lava cake and a slice of tuxedo cake, and both were delicious. The coziest spot for hanging out with your friends. The vibes are always great. I especially come here during winter because I love their hot toddies, mulled wine & espresso martinis. Despite my rare appearance the workers always recognize me. The owner truly cares about his customers, and is very attentive. The community here is friendly customer wise. There's a good mix of people from different age groups, and I have always felt welcome which is a special feeling considering how many bars I've gone to in Sacramento. 10/10 recommend! Bartender must've been a rough 54, at least that's the age he looked but could've been in his 30's or 40's but based on his worn out face, he looked like a rough 54. Very disappointing. This is the best bar because it's not a bar. I don't go to bars but I come here. There are no rowdy brawls, people drunk off their butts, no loud annoying music. The people coming here seem pretty normal, not there to just get drunk. Also there is an extended patio now so you can people watch. Dog friendly because the owner Anthony has a dog. That is definitely a plus. The people who work here are friendly and chill. I've never had any problems here. The upstairs is open Friday and Saturday from 8-12pm so I recommend coming then, it's nice and cozy. Food and drink wise they're known for mixed coffee alcohol drinks that I haven't tried cuz I don't drink. Karma is so close to where I live and convenient. I have tried the tapas in the past and it was some of the worst food I've ever had. Do not recommend eating here. Last night I ordered two Irish coffees with a girl. She swiped the card and we sat down. After almost 20 minutes I went back to the bar to let them know I never got the drinks. During a night out downtown karma is a must stop if we're in the mood for espresso martinis. Seriously some of the best espresso martinis I've had in Sacramento. Minus one star bc one night we came in and vibes were high key off. We were asked multiple times to show our IDs even though we had already gotten drinks? I debated whether or not to review this place because it felt kind of like a cozy, unique gem that I didn't want to get swarmed, but they absolutely deserve the shoutout. The menu has a good range of different types of drinks (wine, beers, cocktails) without overwhelming you with options. There's also actual food available (pizza, dolmas, mozarella) and i haven't tried it yet but i have a feeling it's good. It was nice to see actual food offered rather than just snacks. The bartenders here are really genuine, there isn't like a fake customer service thing going on and they're easy to talk to. I asked for a beer similar to the last one I ordered and the bartender offered two different suggestions with reasons why they were similar. The decor and incense are my favorite parts. There's a unique eclecticism that I can really just best describe as nostalgic and comfortable. Lots of wood furniture/furnishing and mismatch pillows to sit on, artwork on the walls and some stained glass windows, and two mirrors on the ceiling. If you've ever been to older restaurants in south lake Tahoe (like before it was exclusively for rich people's summer homes) it's got the same feeling, if that makes sense? It's not pretentious, the prices are very reasonable for what you're getting, and it's clearly well-loved by the owner(s), employees, and regulars. If you're in midtown and want to get a drink and enjoy a very authentic Sacramento spot, I highly recommend going here. read more

This review has been long overdue, but I have to say, Karma Brew is one of my absolute favorite places in Sac for a multitude of reasons. Their drinks are phenomenal, ambiance is so cozy and welcoming, and their entire wait staff are amazing people. Specifically, I came in the evening before Thanksgiving to unwind from the day, and was interrupted by an incredibly drunk man while I was taking my order. He got so close to me that I could feel his breath on my face and was whispering to me as if he knew me. He was insistent that I had to let him buy me a drink, and that I needed to sit next to him. I firmly told him "No thank you" 4 times, and when it was clear that he wasn't respecting me (as he kept leaning in closer to me), my bartender, Kris, shut him down and told him that his behavior wasn't welcome. He tried arguing with Kris, but my awesome bartender stood firmly. After calling my guardian angel a "f***ing idiot", Drunk Guy finally sulked over back to his seat. Kris notified one of the owners, Mikey, who immediately instructed Drunk Guy that his behavior isn't welcome, and that he had to leave right then and there. Drunk Guy of course stayed in his seat and started throwing a hissy fit, but Mikey stood his ground and held the door open for him. I watched them talk outside for ages, Drunk Guy getting in Mikey's face multiple times, yet Mikey and another fantastic bartender, Jose, kept the situation under control and I felt safe the entire time, accompanied with an amazing boozey hot cocoa. I love Karma, because not only do I feel not judged for being my most authentic self by dressing, looking, and operating differently than your average Sacramentan, I feel celebrated for who I am. Their staff genuinely care about their drinks, their guests, and their bar. If you're in Sacramento for one night only, make sure to stop by Karma Brew (and get a Cadillac Margarita, they're the best)! read more
