The acai was a little icey but wasn't too sweet. The ratio of acai compared to fruit was off, the bowl was like split in half of acai base and the other of fruit. I don't think the manager or owner evened it out well. Doesn't matter because it still tasted good! The granola was crunchy and sweet. After a long day in Laguna Beach, it was the perfect treat. They also have one in Laguna Beach too we just made our way to Dana Point for another obligation. Inside, they have seating and a big menu to choose from. They also have a bathroom and water station. Parking was easy too as you can park in their lot or street!

Alohana was close by, so we drove up the road and were there within 5 minutes. There's a few parking spots out front and we were able to get one at 2:50 pm on a Saturday. Inside it's cute, clean and there's seating, but they also have a few tables and chairs outside so we ate out there. I went with the Campground which has both Pitaya and Acai base, some granola and berries and banana slices. They were busy at the time making orders and we didn't wait too long for ours to come out. I will say, the bases were a little frost bitten or more icy when I got it, but it did melt down a bit more once I started eating it and then everything started to blend and it tasted good. I'm a huge fan of Blue Bowl and feel like nothing compares to theirs, but Alohana is on par with that. It's good if you want to take it to go and let it melt down a little to have that smooth consistency instead of fighitng with it and getting chunks at a time of the base. Definitely would recommend coming here after a long day at the beach or picking one up before heading to the beach to enjoy there. They also sell coffee and other random, but very cool, tchotchkes, clothes, art, that you wouldn't find at any other Acai bowl shop and it's very Dana Point. Great place to pick-up a unique souvenir if you're visiting from out of town.

While taking our order, the gentleman at the counter never once looked me in the eye. Instead, he kept staring and smiling off into the distance at something outside, even though there didn't seem to be anything there. It made the entire interaction feel very strange and awkward for all of us. To make matters worse, the drinks we ordered, which were very simple, were all disappointing. It's frustrating because this used to be a place I came to regularly and genuinely enjoyed. Unfortunately, after this experience, I don't plan on coming back and wouldn't recommend it to others anymore.
