It was different and fun! I recommend you wear full sleeves and wear face mask not just the glasses. The staff is very friendly.

The short review: We 100% recommend Sound of Harmony!!! They did a phenomenal job!…read more The long review: From the very beginning, they made the whole process very easy for us - not only the DJ and music selection elements, but the entire wedding. We had an initial walk-through with Shane (owner/manager), Steve (MC) and Ross (DJ), who asked us a few questions so they could better understand us and make recommendations for our wedding - e.g. what kind of music we like, how did I my wife and I meet, how would we describe each other, etc... This walkthrough was very helpful as we had no idea what we were doing and gave us a good idea of what to expect and what we needed to prepare in the coming months. To add another layer of difficulty, we were trying to coordinate a wedding in Niagara on the Lake, ON, while living in Boston, Massachusetts. They checked-in with us from time to time with more elements to consider and to discuss the details of the timeline for our wedding. As we got closer to the event date, we had a few Skype sessions with Steve, our MC. We provided him with some very ambiguous and open-ended information about our bridesmaids, groomsmen and parents that he was able to, somehow, turn into beautiful introductions for each person before they gave their speeches. Steve not only went above and beyond prior to the event to make us feel comfortable with how things were going to go, but during the event as well - introducing his great sense of humor throughout without overpowering the event. Steve was so beloved, in fact, that at the end of the event much of the wedding party asked to have them join them for drinks while they continued the celebrations that night. Ross was the DJ during the event. As a half "American", half Ukrainian wedding, we threw a very complicated set at him. We gave him songs that were in another language with varying styles that he needed to balance with a mix of traditional jazz and 90s pop music. He was able to pull this off without a hitch and read the crowd very well. Ross was great about taking requests from the guests. We had a diverse group of people - with equally diverse tastes - whose requests he was able to satisfy and blend into the overall style/feel we wanted for the evening. We also had Sound of Harmony provide blue uplights - which we highly recommend as well. It added a nice feel around the room where we felt something would have been missing otherwise. It's a small addition, but makes a big impact. We couldn't have asked for a better team to DJ our event. Working with them was by far the easiest part of wedding planning. The day of the wedding we still had a lot of things to keep in mind and take care of but the DJ and the MC were not one of them. We are truly thankful for all their hard work! They absolutely nailed it!

So it's basically a gothic theater, meaning that it's both a grand antique and a squalid dive. The choice of Labatt or Labatt Light in a can as your beers, although kind of a funny joke, is not actually acceptable as a menu, especially if you're going to charge $8 for said can. There were only about five bottles of booze for cocktails. It's cash only, which is fine, but kind of a pain for 2023. I went to see Goblin, a cool Italian art-rock act that was playing the soundtrack to the Argento classic Demons and then another mixed set after the movie. They sold "reserve" tickets to the upstairs balcony, but the numbers on the tables in no way corresponded to the table numbers on the tickets and it was generally pretty confusing. The lack of lighting on the floor and the very low stairs make the entire upstairs an ADA nightmare and a tripping hazzard for everybody. There is no food of any kind, which I'm pretty sure is illegal in NY for a venue that sells alcohol. The stripped-down-ness would be a bit more paltable had we not paid $50 a ticket for the cheap seats that have an obstructed view of the screen. A few more frills might be expected at that price. We managed to move down to the floor because the place was only about half-sold and security seemed not to notice or care much. All that said, the movie viewing/Goblin show was a good time and the space is pretty amazing, so they're doing some things right. They also seem to be violating the law several ways and throwing customer safety to the wind. It's basically a college dive bar operating as a concert venue. Misc.: the neighborhood is pretty sketch, like most of Niagara Falls outside of the tourist district, so walk in pairs. There seems to be a parking lot across the street.

It's a nice sized place, With a bar in the center (that only accepts cash unfortunately), A big ladies room with lots of stalls & pretty clean. Chairs for us old ppl who can't stand long. This is probably my favorite venue for concerts. You don't stick to the floor or anything, lol .

Other guests were nice and staff were helpful. The water park was perfect. There is nothing better than being inside in wonderfully warm water while watching a blizzard outside. The wave pool was the biggest hit with my 3 elementary age kids. Of course they were big fans of the water slides too. We actually spent way less time in the water park than I thought we would, and way more time doing Magi Quest which is a big interactive scavenger hunt. It wasn't really my thing, but it seemed like every parent was a part time Magi Quest coach, and the kids like it so that's what matters. (Here are my Magi Quest tips- actually read the Ancient Book of Wisdom and ask the fairy questions if you feel stuck.) The buffet food was totally decent. If you don't want to leave the lodge, it's probably worth it to get the inclusive meal tickets. There are a few other dining options on site, like a boba place, a pizza place, a restaurant, and a coffee shop. Prices were not exorbitant compared to other tourist places imo. There is one restaurant inside the water park which I would skip unless you really don't want to leave the water park. It was sort of movie theater type quality of food at the water park restaurant. Definitely get the Paw Pass; it was totally worth it. Oh my favorite thing about the resort were the bracelets which are waterproof and function as a room key and payment system- SO efficient. Now you don't have to worry about bringing your wallet everywhere, losing your room key, etc. More cruises and other resorts need to do this. Do bring a Sharpie so your kids stuff doesn't get all mixed up. Also, bring water bottles- there are fillup stations at restrooms. If you never want to leave the resort you don't have to. They have everything there. If you feel like a quick excursion, we did Dollarama for some souvenirs and snacks, the Mandarin for dinner, and a drive past the Falls at night so the kids could see the lights. We didn't request any housekeeping while we were there. There were plenty of towels, extra trash bags, pillow etc, so we just did our own and it was fine. Overall it felt like a cruise on land. We would definitely do it all again!

Couple things I did not enjoy was to pay for the locker and food at Canoe coffee shop. Their baked goods were dry and old. Coffee was pretty great though. Will definitely visit again next year.

Granted, the restaurant is in the middle of the desolate town of Niagara Falls, NY (and I mean there's nothing around), but once you step into the restaurant, you know why they're still standing after 4 generations. It's like walking onto a set of Goodfellas so I knew right away that I wasn't going to be disappointed. Danielle, our server, is the granddaughter of the original owners. I believe her brother is the chef and they continue their grandparents legacy to this day. We ordered a caprese salad to start. Gnocchi with meatballs and Eggplant parm were the entrees both served with a simple (what I call Sunday) sauce. The food was impeccable!!! What I loved is that it was clean and fresh tasting. The eggplant was not overly breaded and fried - it was stacked like layers of lasagna. The gnocchi were perfect little potato pillows! Bravo to the family!! Your grandparents would be so proud!

I am a little disappointed they didn't offer any discounts or refunds, or throw in any extras or anything for the troubles- we still paid full price. That being said, the food was actually amazing. Charged $50 for a $7 toy bug and still harassing me after I returned it…read more My son accidentally took home a small plastic bug from one of their rooms. I'm a single mom from out of town and took full responsibility right away. For almost two weeks, they called and emailed me **daily** -- sometimes multiple times a day -- even though I stayed in constant contact and told them I would bring it back after Halloween. I do a large Halloween setup every year for local children, so I was extremely busy, but I never once said I wouldn't return it. On the day I planned to finally bring the bug back, my truck broke down and needed a new fuel pump, towing, and repairs. Without even reaching out to ask what happened, they went ahead and **charged my bank card $50 without notice or permission.** That was my gas money to actually come and return the bug -- which, by the way, costs about $7 online. After borrowing gas money, I *still* drove back and returned the item in person. Instead of an apology, I've since been **harassed and pressured** to make my daughter delete her own review -- with them even saying my refund "could be delayed" if she doesn't.
