Showed up at least 15m prior to our reservation as is typical for escape rooms to sign waivers, go over rules etc, but stood around in the sun waiting to be let into the building, at the time of our reservation the GM arrived and let us in, and left us waiting around in the lobby for 10m while he reset the room (why wasn't this done after the last group?). So we get started 15m late. The GM does the barest intro I've ever seen, doesn't tell us the door is locked behind us (which the dozens of games I've played never do for safety). We start working the room and not 5m in the GM gives us *unsolicited* advice giving away the first puzzle, a pattern that would continue through our hour long experience. The set dressing was ok, definitely in the low budget tier, which isn't in itself a problem, but it didn't help redeem the room. Puzzles were linear but once we early solved one puzzle and jumped into the middle of the sequence, the GM's unsolicited advice was just confusing because it had nothing to do with the puzzles in front of us. My bf and I were excited to find Escape Niagara directly across the street from our hotel. We got to experience the room just the two of us due to covid, which was really nice. We chose the Al Capone room, even though it said it only has a 35% escape rate. We unfortunately, didn't escape, but we were only a few clues away. We were a bit confused bc the clue we got stuck on was not clear based on the hint that was given and still not clear when we think back on the previous clues. I'll start by saying that I have been to quite a few of the escape rooms around WNY and enjoy them thoroughly, so this place had a lot to live up to. I had a good time, because of the people I was with, but because the experience was lacking in so many areas, when I have had such wonderful experiences at other escape rooms locally, I would not be running back or recommending to others wanting to do escape rooms. First thing you should know is that it is down town directly across from the casino. It has no parking lot, so you may want to car pool, there is street parking but it is $5 an hour per car, there is free parking at time nearby if you don't mind walking, but my group came in 4 separate cars. Not really docking any stars off for this, just a point of note if you are visiting. They are in one of those buildings where you have to buzz in because there are other businesses and places inside, but their doorbell system was very weird. I rang it multiple times, and either no one heard me, or it wasn't set up right or something. I eventually called my cousin who was already inside, and she came and let me in. My cousin who arrived after experience the same thing. We registered for the cellar. When it was time to go in the lady working there put blindfolds on each in our group, led us in individually and put a chain around each half of our group. It was sort of weird because they obviously meant for you to not move from that area until you found the key, but it was lose and wasn't made clear when we were led in. I have been in others where you were legitimately handcuffed, and needed to find the key, but here you could "let yourself out" without getting the key. There was a video screen that was supposed to communicate with you, both showing you words, but also using sounds to get your attention. After like 10 minutes of starting our escape adventure the girl working came in and half apolgized half said she had been sending us messages but the system wasn't working. She said we weren't supposed to leave our chains, but also that we had gotten into some parts that we weren't supposed to be able to yet, she didn't really elaborate on how, and that also the video and audio wasn't working so she would have to work on that. On that note she left for like 10 minutes, and we just stood there not really knowing what to do, the clock has stopped, do we keep looking? This is ruining the whole vibe of an escape room and we aren't sure what to do. We decided to just step out of the room through the open door and chat in the hall. After about 10 minutes the lady walked by us, didn't say anything, went into the room we had vacated for a few minutes, walked back out to the front desk and into other back rooms and was gone for like 15-20 minutes. She came back and went in the room again and when she walked by my cousin asked what was going on. She said she was having some technical difficulties. She eventually agreed to let us do a different room that she assured us would work. We ended up doing Al Capone's Speak Easy. The room was well decorated in a style that fit the name. There were minimum "things" around the room and minimal directions on what to do next, but that can be kind of good in my opinion. I don't know like it when they are too easy. We did need quite a few hints but escaped. Overall, we had fun because of the people we were with. I do feel back because technical difficulties could happen anywhere at anytime, and the lady working was nice enough for sure (albeit a little weird that we were left hanging for so long), having us do another room. However I have never experienced technical difficulties at all at other escape rooms, let alone something big like this. The whole experience was just underwhelming for all of us. I think the place has the potential to be great, but if I was going to do another escape room I'd go back to somewhere where I had a great experience instead. read more

First, the reservation arrives with instructions that the door will be locked when you arrive so ring the doorbell. Then we had to ring the bell over and over, nobody came. We were stuck waiting at the front with a bunch of people smoking around my kids. So we moved about 15 feet away while waiting. So I called the phone number to the location. Eventually a kid came to let us in. Then he got locked out of the door to the business with us, so we had to wait again in the breezeway for an extended period of time until a group that finished their escape room experience left and let us in. When we finally made it to the business, the attendant girl apologized for that delay. She wasn't ready for us yet so she and the kid went to reset the room. When she came to get us to get started she gave us the back story to that experience. She could have made it so much better. She explained that we get three clues. We would be on camera and audio so all we had to do was ask. So we go inside. Everything in the room is busted, dirty, or worn TF out. Then when we start asking for clues, we keep waiting a very long tome and ask again and again. The clues get sent to a monitor with typed clues so we understand it takes a moment to type. But this is not what we are talking about. At one point some of the props stopped working and the girl comes in and apologizes and said the computer went out, so she has to reboot it. So we lost our timer completely. Then once she got it back online, we asked three times several minutes apart for our next clue with no answer. I literally had to open the room door and holler for her to send the clue. We have done many escape rooms before. They are always clean, well furnished with a lot of props and clues that all make sense and in an order that makes sense. This place is a hot mess. It's over priced, under maintained and poorly run. We did not have fun at all and it was a waste of money. Save your time, save your money, and go somewhere else! read more

Terrible service. They are not even willing to speak to you face to face when your at the door. They talked to me via a ring doorbell system that kept breaking out so I could not understand them. Talk about dehumanizing the whole event... Also, this is the only escape room I have traveled to that will not let you join another open group. That's part of what makes the experience that much better! It's about working with strangers and developing your communication skills and learning to work together. They need to change their whole perspective of how their system works. In my opinion its not fair for those that travel solo and just want to join an escape room. I could go out and try to find someone that would join me, but that's just strange. read more
