This experience was completely unexpected and completely unforgettable. It's not a brick and mortar nor full-size food truck but a small camper-like shop just off Van Nuys Blvd adjacent to the tire shop. The owner made it a wonderfully personal experience by making it clear what pride he takes in his food. And damn well he should! Forget just smash burgers, this is easily one of the best burgers I've had in over 20 years in Los Angeles. The seasoning in the meat was incredible. Other than that, it's just American cheese, burger sauce and grilled onions. Fabulous. Savored every single bite. The fries were also great, but I'd go back again and again and again for their burger.

The owner was extremely hospitable and very knowledgeable about everything that he uses in his recipes. Everything is made from scratch, the house sauce is addicting! From the first bite of the burger, it was crispy edges, but tender on the inside and the American cheese melted perfectly. The burger was loaded up with sauce and cheese, and it just melted. I am so impressed with everything from start to finish. I will definitely be back! If I could give more than five stars I would! THANK YOU!!

Holy crap, you gotta try this stand. Van Nuys Boulevard just leveled up by like 33% because this place exists. The food is simply fire just like their sign says. The single smash patty is exactly the right amount of indulgence -- any more and I'd probably feel guilty, but this hits the sweet spot. What really makes this spot shine is the owner. I don't know how he does it, but he makes every single customer feel like they're the star of the show and I enjoyed bantering with him while having my burger and beer. Great food, great vibes, and honestly, the whole neighborhood feels a little cooler now that this place is here.

I now understand why the reviews are so good. The owner cares so much and it's such a nice person. You can tell he loves what he does and it reflects in the burgers. I highly recommend you make your way over here and try one of these bad boys. The meat is top quality, and the buns are soft but not squishy. He cut the onion fresh for each burger. The fries are straight up real potato, and fried golden, and you can get onion rings too! Honestly, one the best smashed I've had, and if you look at my reviews, that says a lot. read more

Smashers Burgers has officially ruined all other burgers for me--in the best way possible. The moment you walk in, you get hit with that sizzling, buttery aroma that makes you want to order everything on the menu. The patties are thin and perfectly crispy around the edges, but still juicy in the middle--exactly how a smash burger should be. The seasoning is spot on, the cheese melts like it's auditioning for a commercial, and the toasted bun somehow manages to hold everything together without falling apart. I tried their signature double smash with grilled onions and special sauce, and I swear I heard angels singing. The fries are golden, crunchy, and addictive (do yourself a favor and get them loaded at least once). Staff was super friendly, the food came out fast, and the vibe is casual but upbeat. Prices are fair for the quality--you can tell they actually care about the ingredients. Bottom line: If you're a burger lover, this place isn't just a recommendation--it's a requirement. read more

The absolute best and most fire smash burger in town. But it doesn't end there, the customer service was beyond amazing. Gary was so sweet, so nice and friendly. We caught him right as he was packing up but he saw us pulling up and he STILL SERVED US, on top of giving us the best hospitality. This is our 2nd time coming out of a million more for the rest of our lives, I hope everybody reading this can feel the sincerity of this review, because unfortunately you can't taste how fire the food is. But you can if you make your way to Smashers, so go!!!! read more

I tried this burger about 2 years ago and it was amazing then and I finally found the name of the truck and where it was parked today... and its still AMAZING today. Before they called food trucks they were called roach coaches. That was supposed to be a dig at these small businesses but like Smashers those trucks always had the best burgers. This small but mighty truck churns out a simple menu with a focus on taste and service. I have no idea why a Smashers burger is better than the other guys around town, but the meat seems fresh and flavors rich. Salty and delicious. The sauce ain't bad either. I've gone back a couple of times to make sure it wasn't a fluke. And the same quality and taste was there. The chef/owner is nice. Takes pride in his business. If you see the truck, stop. The truck does not have the plates, only sandwiches. In my opinion, you might be better off driving or walking another mile to Versailles, down (up?) the road, you would have more choices and maybe a better experience.
