two trays of fries and a burger
Christa M.

It's been years since I've last had Smashburger and for some reason I was craving it yesterday. I was a little worried because from what I last remember, I had a not so good experience with the food. We walked in and I quickly noticed that they had remodeled the inside since the last time I stopped by. It's now more spacious and feels open. I had the classic smashburger, my mom had the grilled chicken sandwich with mushrooms, and my sister had a double bacon smashburger. We ordered a side of onion rings and a regular side of truffle fries. The employee let us know that the soda machine was down for the day and only Aguas Frescas were available. We needed something to drink while we ate so we said that was fine. The food was brought out to us and he kindly asked us if we needed anything else. We asked for ranch and he brought us two. We then began to eat. My burger was REALLY GOOD. The meat had a lot of flavor, was hot, and cooked well. My moms chicken sandwich was juicy and flavorful. My sisters bacon burger was also delicious and the slices of bacon were big. We enjoyed our meal and left stuffed. The portions were big and the food was delicious. I am so glad I gave them another try! Total spent: $46

Avocado Bacon Club Black Bean Burger with Tots

This is one of my goto lunch spots. I've always enjoyed their burgers. However lately I've been trying to cut back on my red meat intake so I'm super happy that they have a delicious black bean burger option. I mean the black bean burger is almost as tasty as the regular burger. Love the tots as well.

Smoked Bacon Brisket Burger

I would come back specifically for the fries, but the bacon brisket burger definitely wasn't my cup of tea. I would love to try something else as the burger was overwhelming and felt like it was missing something. Service was good for how busy it was!

There are about 5-7 parking spots out front. We were happy to find a spot. It is CASH ONLY. So make sure you bring cash! It is one of the oldest places in the area and we have heard amazing reviews! It has a lot of history and super cool pictures and a great vibe. The people are great. William took really good care of us. We got the bacon cheeseburgers, fries and beer battered mushrooms. FIVE STARS!!! Omg. William was friendly and he made sure our entire order was made to order so our fries and beer battered mushrooms were fresh! They charcoal broil your burgers to order in front of you! Everything was delicious! You can definitely taste the charcoal broiled meat!!! The fries were perfectly salty and crispy! We asked for extra crispy fries. And the beer battered mushrooms were crispy on the outside, salty and juicy on the inside. It is also important to note that they premade bacon pieces in the shape of the burger patty so every bite has bacon! It was spectacular. I love my entire meal!

It's a no frills small joint that's been slinging food here for decades. I got the bacon cheese burger, fries and a coke. Simple, yet all I need with a burger. I loved how they do the bacon here too. It's not strips of bacon but instead a circle of bacon. So good and crispy! The condiments are self serve in this middle area and you shout your order when it's your turn and then wait for your burger to come up then grab a tray, your burger, drink and side. I love a nostalgic place, and this is def that! It was packed when we got there but don't fret. Line moves fast and people eat and then get out knowing it's a place you eat and then move on.

I am not going to reach out, but again, the effort speaks volumes. Bravo! Look, at this point, it must be me.... I'm not quite sure. I specifically went with a box combo because I didn't want to deal with a swap on the 3 finger combo... I also decided not to give a $20+$2+$.96 just because I wanted a $10 back... you know? Math. I decided on the $20+$.96 for the even $8. Ok... get my drink, so far so good. Then I get my meal and inquiry as to whether I got my drink. Yes, but not my change. No dispute just a few extra minutes added, my bad for paying cash.... I get home and while I am stoked about 5 chicken pieces in my 4 piece combom, I am devastated about 2 toasts. My least enjoyable part of the meal.... it HAS to be me right? I mean, I made no substitutions, I tried to avoid all possibility of issue... and so, 2 toasts... guess I'll sandwich up my extra strip.

And the food overall is good too as expected at any canes. Also the interior is nice too with movie posters from popular films. There is also the usual interior decorations you see at every cane's like disco balls and other music era decorations. But again the inside needs to be cleaned a bit better and the parking lot could be better. Since it's so busy there is almost no parking and it can be a pain to park. Also need to be careful when driving in as the way in is right near the exit of the drive thru. So that could also lead to frustration when trying to drive around to park or get in without running into close encounters with other drivers. Overall, this is a good Raising Cane's but it can be a mess to park and really frustrating to get in and out since it's right near the ASU campus. That will lead to it being super busy and other chances of not being able to find a place to sit or long wait times.

Everything just had good flavor and didn't feel dry or basic. Service was great too, no issues at all. The place was busy the whole time with people coming in and out, even Amazon drivers and people on lunch breaks were eating there, so you can tell locals actually like it. Easy 5 stars.

I didn't think anything about it when 10 minutes had passed, but once it was 20 minutes I decided to ask one of the workers how much longer it would be for my order and that's when they finally decided to inform us they were working on a catering order. I work in the food service industry so I was a little confused as to why that's not something they would disclose at the beginning of us ordering, especially if they knew it was a large order. They told us it would only be 5-10 more minutes though... and then that became 20 extra minutes of us waiting. The customer before me also ended up waiting 40 minutes for just 3 tenders. I feel like they should've offered us a free drink or something after seeing us in the lobby waiting for half an hour. And it didn't help that the 3 people on expo were just talking and fooling around. They had also looked irritated when we had gone up after that half hour to ask about our order. While I love the food, I don't know if I'll go back. TLDR: Food is great. Service not so much.

I am a HUGE Greek/Mediterranean food fan! Especially when I'm traveling for work (why I'm here in…read morePhoenix), and most food option to order aren't the healthiest, I always find this to at least be a halfway decent alternative. I ordered the chicken Medi bowl and it was so incredibly flavorful. I took the picture before I mixed everything together, but I was glad to see it did mix well. There's nothing worse than getting a bowl and trying to mix all the ingredients together, but you end up just taking giant bites of hummus with nothing else. Their portion size felt like just the right amount, with a good balance of chicken, veggies, quinoa, and a sauce to mix in. I was originally going to immediately give this place 4 stars max, because it's my biggest pet peeve when places don't give silverware with their takeout orders (I luckily had a fork from something else I ordered, but it was flimsy and not made for this bowl for sure). But after eating it, the flavors were out of this world that I did feel like it was deserving of 5 stars. We have some pretty great Mediterranean restaurants in Boise, but I think this definitely competes!

The inside was small and full of color. We did notice this was a very popular place for students, and it seemed about 80% were by mobile order. There are many things to like about this place but a few that made me also not like it. First off the main part, the food was great. The zesty wrap was a great price and very large, same as the Doner bowl, packed with all of the ingredients both me and my wife were very full after eating our meals clocking in a just over $30 tip included. Now for the downside, the menu posted inside above where they make everything, maybe I'm old, but it was just confusing to me. Then when you walk up to the counter to order they have a hand held menu that makes sense. Easy to understand. Wish I would have seen that first. The main thing that disappointed me was the service or lack thereof. Now I realize they were busy with mobile orders and maybe it's because it's in campus or i don't know. Even after standing from afar looking at the menu for a good 5-7 minutes nothing from the employees. Then walking up to the counter we stood at the register for AT LEAST 5 minutes with an employee less than 5 feet away with no acknowledgment whatsoever. Then when she was ready to take our order she was neither friendly nor happy. Overall Yelp doesnt do half stars but I would realistically give Spitz a 3.5, not 4. Great value and food, but lacking in service
