Had a horrible experience my first time coming here when they first opened. But we figured we'd give it a try again after being stuck in line at a popular store next door for a while. I was shockingly VERY impressed! We got the bacon BBQ burger and it was def a 9/10. Delicious and did not take longer than 5 mins for our food to be hot and delicious. It is a little pricier because you have to pay for fries and a drink a la carte. But I left shocked, impressed and full. I advise anyone who had a bad experience like I did initially to give them another try. They seem to have worked out some of the kinks and jack ups. read more

This was my first time at the restaurant. The location is cool. It's near other shopping stores. Parking is right out front. The service was quick and fresh. I was happy to learn they have turkey burgers unlike most burger spots usual carry all beef!! The front end staff was polite and explain the menu. The server who brought the food to rye table was polite and friendly and quick. The inside was clean and noise level was normal . Did not appear GHETTO! The first few times we went here when they first opened up, we would stand in line for 30 minutes to place our order and another 10-15 waiting for our food. They have two cash registers but only operate one at a time. Since then we have learned to place our order online, but even that has issues. Last night when we got there they told us they didn't have our order. After about 10 minutes they finally found it and said the reason it didn't go through was because it still had an unpaid balance. Evidently the website didn't charge the tax. After paying the additional $1.84 (at the 'other' cash register they do not use) they got us our food after another 5-10 minutes. However, the last straw for us was last night when I was sick the whole night. I'm not entirely sure if it was actual food poisoning or just how I reacted to the food, but probably best for us to just mark this one off the list. read more

Given that this location always seems to have a line, I don't understand why there's a very limited space for people to wait. Because of this, there's a line out the door if there's more than ten customers! If you want to come on a weekend, better hope it's nice out. You're going to be standing outside in a line snaking around the place. While the burgers are definitely above average, I wouldn't say they're some of the best that I've ever had. I submitted an online order at 6:45pm for pickup at 7:15pm. This order was accepted. When I arrived at 7:15pm, I was forced to stand for 20 minutes while waiting for my order. The staff here is nice and well-meaning; however, I don't think the order acceptance infrastructure Smashburger has employed is necessarily conducive to a customer experience that could be considered acceptable by even modest means. Simply put: if you do not cap the amount of orders accepted at a time of high demand, you will most likely upset customers by failing to meet their agreed upon pickup expectations. I like Smashburger as a whole, but this location is a little on the chaotic side compared to other locations I've been to. Food was tasty although a little overpriced compared to alternatives. My fiance had the Spicy Jalapeno Baja burger and that is a solid choice. Very spicy as promised and it is a very hefty burger. I went with the Truffle Mushroom Swiss and was not as impressed when compared to the Classic Smash and Spicy Jalapeno Baja burgers. I was hoping for more mushroom or cheese but it tasted very good. The sweet potato fries are very good and the regular fries are good too especially if you like skinny fries. This location is newer compared to others so there is a good chance they are either understaffed or under trained. Luckily it does not effect the quality of the food. read more

Good burgers, especially for vegetarians; terrible service. I've ordered from this location via the app a half dozen times in the past year, and they have gotten my order wrong every time. Usually that means leaving one or more toppings off the burger, but a couple of times they gave me a completely wrong burger. I've learned to check every burger before leaving the restaurant. Also, it seems that no one is responsible for actually handing out orders to their take-out into customers. If you don't speak up, they will leave you standing there for 10 minutes while your order is getting cold, even if there is no line. So why do I come back? The burgers are pretty good, though not as good as Five Guys, and most importantly, they have a much better vegetarian selection for my daughters than other burger places. If you don't have a vegetarian in your party, you can do better elsewhere. read more

The wife and I were craving burgers and she had told me this place just opened, so we'd figure to give it a try, especially after a positive experience at the one in Radnor. I put in an online order while out running errands. I arrived about 10 minutes early and there was no line but a somewhat good crowd that was seated. I told them I was picking up an online order and gave them my name. The counter girl then proceeded to read back an order that wasn't even close to mine. She grabbed a manager and he informed me that the order wasn't in their system just yet, since I was early, so he asked me to have a seat and wait. While I was sitting and waiting, I observed the staff members delivering food. I would estimate they got maybe 2 or 3 orders correct out of 10. It was either delivered to the wrong person/table or the order was wrong completely. However, they were very quick to bus and clean the tables. After 15 minutes passed after my pickup time, I was able to get my order and go home to eat. The wife got a BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger. I got the same, but had to add a fried egg, mushrooms, pickles, and substituted a pretzel roll. We also split an order of fried pickles and smashfries. Overall, the burger was good at best. The burger was cooked way to well for me and it was on the dry side. The bacon was not crispy at all, very flimsy, and same thing with the onion straws. Her only complaint was it needed more bbq sauce. The smashfries were really good. A little touch of garlic, rosemary, and salt so it wasn't overly seasoned. They were cooked just right with a nice crispy outside and creamy texture on the inside. The fried pickle chips were good. The only thing was that we thought they were on the salty side, however, I prefer sodium related foods. It helps that they provide a small side of ranch to dip it in. Overall, it was an okay experience. The service aspect was definitely well below average, but the food kind of makes up for it. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch of food, poor training in the kitchen, or a combination of everything that gave an average experience. However, since she enjoyed the food and I thought it was good, we'd consider going back again. I would certainly try something else and give it another try before I rule it out completely. My husband had the "big burger" do-it-yourself selection w/aged cheddar, l & t, bacon, hot sauce on some kind of spicy bun. Just the right amount of 'burn'. Definitely try the SmashSweetPotato fries if you like the idea of olive oil/basil rosemary flavor. It really worked for us. And sharing a Salted Caramel Malt really hit the spot. read more

The service was ok, but the food was definitely a let down. The sweet potato fries were burnt and did not come with any sauces and the brussel sprouts were unseasoned. The service was awful. One person was ahead of me Andi waited ten minutes to order. The food came up fast which was good but the food was falling off my bun. I got literally a teaspoon of guacamole and grease was spilling off. After dabbing the oil off he burger it did taste delicious but not worth the price. Listen, I love a good burger and this place has gluten-free buns, which a lot of places around here do not have. So I think I have fewer options to compare it to and I tend to enjoy a it more than my gluten tolerant friends. The line is usually long, the service can be slow, and it's not the cheapest for what it is. But I like the finished product a lot. I love the skinny fries and I like the burgers. My first GF bun was still frozen so I always ask them to toast it on the grill. I dunno, maybe it deserves 3 stars, but for fries, burgers, and shakes, it's my go-to GF place in Delco. read more

I had several poor experiences here, despite the tasty dishes. During my last visit, I received the wrong order (for the second time). It was a take out order and I didn't have time to return to the restaurant. So I contacted the corporate office, customer service dept., via email and phone. I shared my experience and was informed the regional manager would contact me within 24 hours. It's been 3 days and I haven't heard from anyone via email or otherwise. We came here to eat before a movie. 3 pm on Sunday. The line was out the door and they only had one register open. They opened the second register but the cashiers then told the people in line to wait so she could make a shake and the other cashier could go into the dining room. As other customers were leaving they made eye contact rolling there eyes. So obviously we weren't the only ones annoyed. Running out of time, we only ordered smash fries and vegetable frits. Waiting at the table for the food we looked around. It was very dirty. Food and debris on the floor throughout. The fries tasted as if they were left over from yesterday. Ok so we tried it and it's not a destination burger . . . (i.e.: ShakeShack, In & Out). Burger was tasty but for a $10 meal the burger was an extremely small amount of beef "smashed" down. Inside, it seemed as if there were two radio stations being played at the same time and although the staff was friendly; it wasn't all that clean . . .
