I'm surprised at the negative reviews. Our two trips here have been almost as good as the Smashburger locations we've tried in Denver. I'd say the main difference has been that the burgers are a bit sloppily assembled: off-center onions and the like. I'm always happiest with the classic smash and double smash. It's more or less everything I want from a burger, by which I mainly mean that the meat is salted and seared so that you understand why the damn hamburger was invented to begin with: beef tastes great. So often nowadays the meat seems like an afterthought. The fries are good. The shakes are made with Haagen-Dasz, so they're fantastic. This last time, we got Oreo to split three ways. I *hate* casinos. I can't stop staring at the horrible machines that people waste their precious time and money with. Both times we've gone to this Smashburger there has been some confusion about where to park. I still think it's worth it sometimes. read more

Food was fine, however this is the absolute slowest fast food place. 20 minutes for a burger is ridiculous.

We drove from Tigard, Oregon to enjoy a lovely Smashburger as we have been seeing them prepared all over YouTube foodie shows, and we were disappointed to find out that it was a TINY burger, with not caramelization, and a cold bun. This business is located in the Ilani Casino, Ridgefield, WA. I ordered the Double Truffle Smash Burger with Tots. The burger was on average, good. The folks who recommended this place spoke highly of the burgers but I cannot concur with their claim, chalk it perhaps to overly exaggerated hype? Unfortunately I have to give 1 star when this place deserves none-zero-zip! We read up on Smashburger having low carb options & we were excited to see that they offer bunless burgers & also Brussel sprouts. We stand in line (only 1 gal working the counter, taking orders & also dishing out the food). We finally get to the counter to place our order & ask the gal if they do indeed offer bunless options. She stated that they do a lettuce wrapped burger. I chose the Bacon Avocado Club (beef) burger & my guy chose the mushroom Swiss (beef) burger (both without sides since this location does not offer the sprouts) & 1 diet soda to share. Total came to $20.73. We received our food. The "meat" was tossed on several pieces of flimsy lettuce. It was not wrapped as they stated. The meat was thin & dry, my avocado (4 SMALL slices) was browning, the bacon was barely even there & that's all we got! I had to ask for the dressing that was suppose to come with mine (ranch, to which I asked for when I ordered). I can not believe we paid for these "meals". Next time. Go elsewhere & grab a salad. A LOT more food for a lot less! I am truly disappointed & will NEVER return to them. We should have gone next door to the Italian pizza place for 2 amazing looking Caesar salads we saw a few ppl get. Smash Burger Update . . . just came from there and I'll probably Not Go Back! . . . this is based on my last three visits. I ordered the Truffle Mushroom Swiss, Sweet Potato & Smashfries (rosemary spiced) . . . The meat was so dried, tasteless, cold and shriveled it was Obviously precooked and just sitting on the cold side of the grill before I'd ordered it also evidenced by the fact it took less than three minutes to serve. The Smashfries were undercooked, soaked in grease and also barely warm while, finally, the Sweet Potato fries were Way overcooked and tasted burned. The clincher is the owner was in uniform and obviously trying to fill in for an understaffed situation (I'd met him before, he owns all 4 fast food restaurants in the ilani food court). Their burgers had some quality to them when they first opened but that's gone now . . . Back to the Sushi Bar for me. read more

Why oh why didn't I check the reviews before we chose to eat here?! I had eaten at a Smashburger years ago in an airport and it was good. I got excited because one was within driving distance. Sigh. It was really expensive for what it was and you have to order fries separately, they do not come with your burger. The food was over salted across the fries and 2 of the three burgers. Normally we would have asked for our money back but we had a time restraint and were really hungry. Add the smell of cigarette smoke to the meal and it really was unpleasant. Never again. read more

How do I describe this place... It's like when Wolfgang Puck opens an eatery at a minor league baseball stadium. Great food, but it's a very limited selection, smaller portions and the prices are higher. (Because they are a franchise...) Now, the quality and taste are there for my fellow Smashburger fans. But they only have five burger and three chicken sandwiches (yes, vegetarians, they have the black-bean burger as well). They have smashfries and sweet potato fries, but only four varieties of shakes. And everything has smaller portions and the prices are the same or higher as they are at a regular Smashburger. Now, the icing on the proverbial cake.... They do not have the ability to honor SmashApp rewards, nor is there a barcode on the receipt so you can scan to get your points. So, if you are at the casino definitely eat here - Smashburgers are amazing!!! But, if you are driving out of your way to make a special trip for the closest location to Seattle or Salem, think twice. The limited menu and other differences from actual corporate stores would make me wait for my next trip to Sacramento, San Francisco or Boise. read more

Order the black bean burger... it is not what they are known for but it's the best choice here. It's a big well seasoned savory burger with some actual surface ratio. While checking out the different places to eat inside the new Ilani Casino, it became clear to me that the only places within my price range were in their food court. One of the players at the blackjack table raved about the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger at the Smashburger counter. Sounded good to me, so that's what I got. It was very good. . .juicy and flavorful. However, it was definitely small for the $8.25 it cost. It was about the size of a burger that maybe would have cost no more than $3.00 to $4.00 at a fast food place. BUT, it was a great tasting burger. . .and if price was no object, I'd order it again and again. The food here is amazing. The service is horrible. 2nd time coming, and second time they messed up. The cashier put in the wrong order, when told looked at me like I'm stupid, before I insisted she correct it. After waiting too long for a replacement I walk up, she speaks with the guy handing out food then picks up a burger holds it in his face and asks if it looked like the right burger. This was unacceptable behavior while trying to correct her mistake. 35 minutes after ordering, I finally received my correct burger. read more

I was really excited when I heard they opened a Smashburger in this new casino. I'm not really into casinos, gambling, etc. so this was my only motivation for going to Ilani. When I lived in California there were quite a few Smashburgers in the area I resided, so I was looking forward to revisiting this chain. I'm not sure if I'm just remembering incorrectly, but I think the burgers were bigger in California. Maybe I'm wrong. But they seemed so small? I got a bacon cheeseburger, as did my mom, and we split an order of smashfries. This was plenty of food despite my initial worry. The bun is not heated or toasted, just a little heads up, because I know it throws some people off. It usually does for me, and it threw my mom off at first, but it weirdly works at Smashburger. The bacon was good and not underdone or overdone. The burger patty itself was a pretty good size, I'm not sure... That might be up to preference because I don't really like a huge meat patty in my burgers. It's a pretty darn good burger, in my opinion. The smashfries were good as well, not too oily, and had a nice flavor. I don't usually get those when I go to Smashburger, but my mom wanted them so I went with the flow. They definitely gave these in a smaller amount than in the locations in California. That was something I was 100% sure of. I think the prices are inflated because of the location, but I honestly don't think they're TOO much more than at the other locations I'd been to. Don't expect fast food prices here, even though it kind of appears like it would be. It's more of a higher tier fast food burger, sort of in the same ballpark as Burgerville. Now would I come back here? Yeah, I probably will. But the fact that it's in the casino is annoying to me so I probably won't rush back simply due to location. The smell in the casino is terrible, because there's a smoking section and it wafts around the entire establishment, including where you eat. I don't want to get preachy because as they say, "you do you", but as a non-smoker who has had some extremely traumatizing experiences with loved ones who smoke(d), I just really dislike that aspect of this casino in general. I'm normally not someone to yelp, but when I wasn't the only one who had to wait for over 40+ minutes..... because our tickets were missed placed (3 guests by the way). When I finally got my food, it didn't have any fries. Then I got them added to my tray. Then, I had to take it back because it had pickles... all they did was take them off and hand me the tray. I asked to have it remade and you could tell how rude they were being about it. I was offered a refund, but I didn't take it until I had to have my top bun remade. Everytime we go there the food is always pretty good. Hot fries, hot burger. The wait is a bit but, it's always been consistently good in taste. After filling out bellies we head off and play slots for an hour or two. Fun way to lose the day for sure. read more

I stopped eating meat as often as I used to, but I used to enjoy coming to Smashburger as a treat. The burgers are seasoned, and the tots and lovely, tossed in garlic and rosemary. I don't eat cheese or the typical condiments that come on burgers, so I have to special order. In the last two times I have been here, my order has had to be remade 4 times. As much as it costs for the meals, you would think there would someone would pay attention to the amount of waste being made, and be careful on the orders.
