Seriously, why does this place have 3 stars?!? I tried the new Green Goddess bacon stack chicken smash today and it was literally mind blowing. I enjoyed it so much...smashed grilled chicken patty that was juicy and flavorful. Incredibly fresh tomatoes, spring lettuce, melty cheese, crisp bacon, ripe avocado and just the right amount of green goddess dressing. I couldn't put it down. I spoiled myself with some fries covered in cheese and bacon...fries were perfectly cooked with in-house grated cheese melted on top, sprinkled with crispy, chopped bacon. It was a perfectly cooked meal that was also delicious. Service was really friendly and you could tell they were understaffed but hustled to make sure everyone was happy. We got takeout here a few nights ago, and I have honestly no idea why this place isn't busier. The server/cashier was incredibly nice, even offered the Military discount we had no idea they even had, and was genuinely a pleasant person for what is a slightly upscale fast food place. Burgers were messy, but like the old commercial- "if it doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face." Everything was fresh, and tasted as it should. I wish this place was closer to the new D&B and Home Depot as I think it would probably busier and get the attention it actually deserves. This may be one of the longest freakin' reviews you've ever seen but frankly my darlings, I don't give a damn because... 1) you're not required to read it and 2) I must mentally cleanse myself of a beyond frustrating experience! I ordered online well ahead of time. I placed an order to be picked up 3 hours later after my fiancé and I were done at a Christmas lights event. It was our big before christmas date night this week. We arrived to smash burger a little early but only about 10 minutes before the order was supposed to be due. We put in a very large order that included 2 burgers, 2 orders of wings, 2 onion rings and a drink so we definitely felt that they would have at the very least started on the order by this time considering how many items we had and my fiancé whose been to this location before told me that sometimes they even have the order ready a bit earlier.  He went inside the restaurant while I waited in the car just to ask about our order, see how much time we would have before it was done and the team member he spoke to said " we haven't started working on it yet" so he said "okay, well how much longer do you think it will take before you do start it and when will it be ready?" To which she replied " I DON'T KNOW" and walked away. The audacity! My fiance was extremely unhappy with that response. He came back out to the car upset telling me what happened and asked if I wanted to just get a refund and go somewhere else now because clearly they did not prioritize our order even though we paid and placed it online well a head of time. Seeing how upset he was, I agreed. I tried to cancel it through my online account, but it said the order was in progress, so I couldn't cancel through there, so he went back inside and spoke with the manager. He told the manager how he was unhappy with the wait time cosnidering they didn't even start the order yet and he made it known he was even more unhappy with the service from the employee he spoke to and he demanded a refund to our card. She said she would get the order refunded but it would take 5 business days for the refund to process which wasn't ideal for us considering that's nearly $60 we're out until it fully processes but he agreed to that and left the store hungry and mad. He stated to me that all the employees seemed very unprofessional in the store as other employees were talking about how they're so busy and got so many orders to fill and were just standing around laughing about it rather than doing the job they are getting paid to do. Though the manager said she would refund the order I'm very nervous about that too as I got text notifications after he had her refund the order saying ''your order is ready at smash burger" and asking for a rating of the experience. I'm not sure why they'd send me that after we cancelled the order with her. We will definitely keep an eye on our account to ensure the charges are reversed in 5 days. I looked forward to trying some of Smashburgers food so it's a real shame but if this is how this business operates, then we will never come back and we certainly will not recommend smash burger to anyone we know. Please do better! When someone places a BIG order that they paid for online well ahead of time, make sure you start that order at least 15 minutes earlier than the time that order is supposed to be due and when a customer asked you a question DON'T respond by just saying "i don't know". You lost 2 customers last night who spent nearly $60 on an order, and we were VERY upset with how your team handled even a simple question. I can't in good conscience recommend Smashburger to anyone I know, and while I really looked forward to trying some of your menu items, we will not return after this experience. Our date night was almost ruined by this experience but luckily we found a Mexican restaurant in the area that provided much better customer service than Smashburger does. read more

The food and service is great here! I haven't had a hamburger in years because I couldn't find a place that had gluten-free buns. I was so surprised how good the hamburger was and the bun it didn't even taste like it was gluten-free.. I would give them five stars. read more

I'm giving it a 4 star because the woman up front went way above and beyond! Their sign on the door was asking for cooks. I have no idea how the ONLY woman at the register was taking orders, taking food to people's tables in the restaurant only by remembering their face, calling out to go orders, and cleaning up. Talk about working hard. I commend her for keeping up with everything. The burger was OK at best. There is nothing to write home about. Seasoned well. The average smashed burger. I thought it was a bit chewy. I prefer my burger thick and a bit under done. The smashtots were way overpriced and came out on a tasty way too big for how many you get. Half the tots didn't taste like I got anything in them either. They were dry and flavorless. By the time I got a single patty burger, tots, and a drink, it was $17+. That's a lot for a burger joint. Sometimes you just wonder where businesses today find their employees. These are the people who couldn't find a job before COVID. But now with everyone either out sick or they've moved, these new employees have proven a point, they're not qualified to hold a job of any kind. I came in to place an order to go. The restaurant was empty, maybe 5 patrons eating. Natasha took my order that took 25 minutes to complete. Burger, fries and a drink. From what I could tell, they screwed up my burger and had to make it again. Of course by now, my fries are ice cold. The burger was good, but after this long of a wait, it was not worth stopping here. It looked like the B Team was given the keys to the shop today and they had no clue what to do with them. First time trying a Smashburger. The place was nice and clean and the staff was friendly. The burger was pretty good and the bun was especially good. I'd have to say the only down was that although the place wasn't that busy, it took a while to get our order. Definitely, not McDonld's, but then the burger was much, much better. I guess the only downside was the fries. I gauge the fries by whether or not they need ketsup. These didn't need ketchup IMHO, but just barely. They don't have Smashburger by us, or any of the wonderful options in the Treasure Valley Area, so when I visit, I try a lot of restaurants. It took the server a few minutes to attend to us, but we had never been before and she may have thought we were just deciding on menu items. She was very nice and helpful. Burgers are smashing-really great for the price. Only a bit more than McDonalds or Burger King, but this is a whole lot better. Lots of options-bacon, lettuce, truffles, you have a great variety. We ate with a vegetarian friend and she was able to order an Avacado Black Bean Burger, which is a great option for vegetarians. They also have a lot of sides to chose from that are vegetarian safe. A heads up for anyone who needs to use the bathrooms...there are single bathroom rooms. One men and one woman. So if it's busy you might have to wait to use the bathroom. Overall, I would highly recommend Smash Burger as an option for anyone. They have some healthy options, and it's really good. It isn't just another burger place. read more

Well not as exceptional as I had heard or expected but it was a very tasty burger. I ordered a featured burger. The Double Chessy Carmelized Onion Smash and a large order of regular fries. Pricing was about right for these times. Burger was tasty. Held together well. Bun was nice and soft. Caramelized onions are the bomb. No matter what their on. Large order of regular fries. Ehhhh I've definitely had better. There was no inside dining and actually one of the entrances was locked so upon walking up to the building myself and another bunch of guys thought the establishment was closed. They went on to Wingstop and I tried another door and that one was where you entered Smash. I'm thinking it may be a fire code regulation that all entrances and exits must be unlocked during business hours - but what do I know. All in all it was good to try at least once. Not horribly bad. I ordered the smash tots which had rosemary and a hint of olive oil. They were good. It isn't hard to screw up tater tots and the flavor was good. I also had the cobb salad. Meh...not overly impressed. They forgot the blue cheese and the onion out ratio'd the lettuce. I had a terrible food experience the last time I was there. I wrote a review 8/29/2023 and management communicated back to me. They sent me a credit to come back and give them another try. I have to say I was not disappointed at all this time! The food preparation, service and quality this time around was top notch. I usually love smashburger but tonight i was let down. Ordered fries and a coffee shake. The girl made my shake and handed to me and it was only 3/4 full. I was a little disappointed because the shake was $6. Stopped in for lunch today and I was shocked at what I saw. The hamburger was about like a Burger King or Carl's hamburger, nothing special. I ordered fresh fries with no salt, we received cold fries. When I told them the fries are cold they did replace them with fresh out of the fryer. From where I was sitting I could look down the hall to the bathrooms, the men's door was absolutely filthy, the inside of the men's bathroom was filthy, and the floor looks like it has never been cleaned, unacceptable. Nampa Idaho Location - Tried to eat there 2 hours before they closed. Food took awhile to get (2 burgers and 2 tots and a 2 drinks, not a big order) and while we were waiting, we got told it would be a few minutes and informed that they closed in about an hour and a half. When the food arrived at our table, it was in a togo bag, I never ordered it togo. We were again reminded they closed in an hour and a half. I paid close to $30.00 and had put in a nice tip at checkout. I have gotten better service at a McDonalds. Food is okay, but the service was horrible. I can not recommend strongly enough that you take your money and your business elsewhere, this place is a joke and not in line with the prices or the atmosphere of other Smashburger's I have been too. read more

My first and ONLY experience with Smash Burger was a total DISAPPOINTMENT. "Easy Online Ordering" is a complete joke and a total lie. Neither one of my $25.00 gift cards were valid (according to easy online ordering) Then our credit card wasn't processed as the website said our very valid credit card (calculate totals failed). I then called our Smashburger location and the phone rang and rang, I hung up, called back and received an automated message that basically said "We are busy serving our in store customers, please call back" So I call back for a 3rd time and explain to the staff who answered that both $25.00 gift cards are NOT VALID and it wouldn't process our credit card. The staff member told me that the store doesn't have anything to do with the online ordering website? What? She told me I have to call an 800 number. This is what Smashburger refers to as "Easy Online Ordering?) Both gift cards ARE VALID and Activated (Confirmed by Amazon) and our credit card is perfectly valid as confirmed by our bank. I'll give both gift cards to the next homeless person I see standing on the corner. My desire to try Smashburger is no longer. This company won't last long. How are they even currently in business. If anyone asks about Smashburger, I'll tell them to run far away and FAST. Expensive menu items and total incompetence.
